Rally Monday

Tomorrow is Rally Monday, and the playoff-bound Dodgers will be throwing a rally from 6-8pm at CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood. The rally is free to all fans, and Universal is generously offering free parking to the first 2,000 fans who park in the Curious George or Frankenstein parking lots.

It promises to be a great event, with emcee Adam Carolla, musical performances by the Donnas and Whiskey Falls, appearances by former Dodger greats Steve Garvey, Ron Cey, Sweet Lou Johnson, and other surprise guests. And if that isn’t enough incentive to come out and support the team, there will be a raffle for Division Series game tickets! If you need directions to CityWalk, they can be found here.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to participate in the festivities, as the team will be heading to New York tomorrow morning. But I will be there in spirit, so head out and show the other teams what we already know – that Dodger fans are the most supportive and dedicated fans in baseball.

Show your true blue Dodger spirit and come out to CityWalk tomorrow for Rally Monday. And remember, someone will walk away with tickets to Saturday’s game at Dodger Stadium, which are going fast.

Thanks Michael. A nice gesture. Hope we have a good series and the winner of this match up goes to the World Series. Ray the PONCHO worked it’s magic in Arizona. Almost pulled it out. Hope the guys have a restful couple of days to get physically fit and mentally prepared although I think the past 10 games or so helped prepare us mentally for tough battles. GO DODGERS!!!!

Rally Monday Sounds Great Get the Team and the fans all Pumped up for the Pennant drive! But How can you have a rally for the team when they won’t be there?

  3. interpol1414@yahoo.com

i’ll be there in spirit as well, i can’t drive at the moment & the bike ride all the way to city walk would be hard on me legs.

  4. Ever

I’ve been sitting on playoff tickets for a week now and now I can’t wait to see Dodgers beat up on the Mets.

It’s intersting how these postseason matchups haven’t been seen as often before as you would think.

Derek Lowe started two games against Orlando Hernandez. Two. One of them was in 1998, when Lowe was a rookie, and El Duque won that one. The other one, well, that was game 4 of the 2004 ALCS. That was a no decision for both, but we all know how it ended.

Greg Maddux only started against his longtime former teammate Tom Glavine once, and in 2003. He got the win in that game as the Braves beat the Mets 5-2. Smoltz got the save, marking the only time that Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, and John Smoltz all appeared in the same game, if I am correct.

I’d love to be at the rally tomorrow, but Boise to Los Angeles is a 14 hour drive. 28 hours behind the wheel isn’t my idea of a good time! lol…

Looking at the matchups more and more… I like the idea that the Dodgers will have an extra day to rest up, and also they match up better with New York in a short series. Should be fun.

Way to go Michael! Thanks for popping in with the good-will gesture. The Dodgers and Mets… it doesn’t get much better in the playoffs!

    Go Dodgers!! : )

Overcast in Nova Scotia today but couldn’t be brighter at our place. Can’t hardly reign in my excitement. In the hunt and a couple of games in New York so I can follow them a lot earlier. GO DODGERS!!! I see the pundits are calling the Mets in 4. I love being the underdog. Great idea to have a rally. Don’t know how to do it without the players but expect they will have a way to do it. Perhaps season highlights to play on the big board, maybe taped statements of appreciation from the players, perhaps former Dodgers there, maybe a give away item, chance to be on the field, etc. GO DODGERS!!! Hope you get there interpol.

it looks like ’88 is being revisited, no one is giving the dodgers a chance.. i look at their line up, and its really good, but you look at their pitching, and its nothing special.. we have more than a punchers chance.. the poncho is going to take care of the east coast bias..

Hey euhlman – Is that hurricane going to cause you any concerns? I’ll keep you in my prayers, just in case.

I, too, find humor in the fact that the self-proclaimed sports authorities are saying that the Dodgers will be out of it in four. It may be over in four, but it will be the Dodgers who will prevail.

  11. euhlman@bwr.eastlink.ca

Thanks 53. According to the forecasts we will not be affected by the hurricane which is well off our shores. Newfoundland is expected to take a bit of a hit with some high winds and heavy rains. Hopefully not much of a destructive force though. Thanks also Ray for looking after us on the east coast with the PONCHO. GO DODGERS!!!

  12. kday01@charter.net

(52 & 53), let’s not talk about DODGERS in 4, let’s go out on a limb and say DODGERS in 3. Now that is having confidence in our DODGERS & the PONCHO!!!!!!!!
