Today's lineup

Repko’s sprained ankle looks like it’ll keep him off the field for at least a week, so we’ve DL’d him and recalled Willy Aybar, who will be here by game time.

Furcal, SS

Lofton, CF

Nomar, 1B

Drew, RF

Kent, 2B

Mueller, 3B

Ethier, LF

Martin, C

Tomko, P

So now Furcal will be able to get a jump on him for the team lead in stolen bases. Good to see that Ethier gets some playing time, though, especially with only 4 outfielders.

hey, why would they not bring up joel guzman?.. hes on a tear, i know willy aybar is a on a tear as well, but i would rather see joel guzman out there, either way lets get 5!

BELIEVE IN THE PONCHO!

They didn’t bring Guzman up because he needs to be playing everyday. No reason to make him a 4th or 5th outfielder. He also really isn’t ready yet, he is still striking out waaaay too much, and that won’t fly when he’s facing quality pitchers.

well, joel IS ready to be up here, i have seen him play alot, hes made the transition in left perfectly. hes crushing the ball, and rite now hes better than cruz jr., plus **** give them more power in the lineup.

BELIEVE IN THE PONCHO!

alright, time for a little comment about the national league west.

last year, by far the weakest division. this year….through a fifth of the season, the NLwest has the highest winning percentage of any league. (as of last night)

NLwest 87-79 (.524)

NLcentral 102-97 (.515)

ALeast 83-79 (.512)

ALcentral 83-80 (.509)

ALwest 64-71 (.474)

NLeast 73-86 (.459)

the NLwest has a 45-37 composite record against the central and west (.549). thanks to the improvment to the Rockies and Diamondbacks, maybe this year we’ll get two teams into the playoffs.

Extra tidbit of info:

O. Saenz – 18 hits, 18 rbi’s

now that’s what i call clutch!

(Nomar has 18 hits and 17 rbi’s, not bad either)

Too bad for Repko. Guess the Mueller’s hurting more than anticipated for the 3rd baseman’s callup. This will be interesting.

5 in arrow! whoo hoo!!

the poncho!!
