Typical Summer Day in SF

It’s chilly outside…a good time to get hot.

Furcal, SS (his rt. shoulder seems fine…just tightened up last night in the cold)

Lofton, CF (third-best average in baseball since the beginning of last year)

Nomar, 1B

Drew, RF

Kent, 2B

Ethier, LF

Betemit, 3B

Martin, C

Maddux, P (going for Top 10 in wins again)

Time for the offense to straighten up and do their bit. Drew the lacklustre ( I believe in his first at bat yesterday he didn’t swing once. He did walk, jay, but he didn’t swing once, not even to foul of some marginal ball calls ) needs to keep getting on base somehow, and Ethier … I hope this is not the start of the end for you. Kent did all right yesterday but he needs to fight for a winning cause too … everybody else, just concentrate on having a good game. And work the starting pitchers. A groundout off the first pitch is a lot worse than a groundout off the fourth or fifth. Sometimes the first pitch is not the best pitch to hit you are going to get.

Welcome back to this site Joeyp. Sorry to hear you feel you must vent some hatred on us. Would be nice if you could just participate in the blog. I can assure you that there is nothing you can say that will make my love for the Dodgers diminish. It is interesting that you didn’t post during the winning streak. Not sure what that means. Your lineup is not nearly close to what we have now. I can also assure you that I have not bought into anything. I think Ned has done a good job in starting to build for the future. He’s not looking to make a one year wonder team, although that would be nice. I don’t have to buy into anything. I start watching and following each year as I have for the past 54, excited about the season. So why not sit back and watch it unfold. Give us the gears all you want but perhaps tone it down a bit.

10 – Zip after 1 1/2 innings? Whoa! Not a good time to get too cocky… but this is a royal Butt-Kicking in progress! I’d say that Maddux has some run support tonight.

Here’s to the Big Blue Wrecking Crew Dismantling the Giants!

  4. randyisrad@gmail.com

    You are either really funny.

    Or really, REALLY stupid.

I will just make two points.

HEE-SOP-CHOI? You’re nuts. HEE-Haw is the worst thing to come out of Korea since the Hyundai.

Bring back Piazza and sign Giles. Old has been players, who are we, Kansas City?

  5. griffon64@webmail.co.za

    To each his own, joeyp.

    Feast or famine, eh?

I’d like to see some more runs scored, strange as that may sound – keep the focus, guys!

  6. boosurfer67@hotmail.com

im stuck listening to the giants announcers, these guys are so horrible, they are already saying comeback and rally

  7. skunkspot2001@yahoo.com

For shame on each manager pulling some starters after the early 10 run game.

This is the most precarious blow out game played outside of the Denver area I can remember.

With Tomko, Brox, and if necessary Saito well rested we should hold on to this thing.

  8. diehardblu@yahoo.com

Anyony still doubting Ethier? Don’t worry Dodger fans this guy is for real! nice short compact swing with a great eye an unbelievable work ethic. Good win gotta win tomorrow to win the series. Yeah Joey P take out Nomar Furcal, Lofton, and Ethier and this team just loses its soul you must be a computer geek like Depo. If you weren’t you would see that those guys are BALLPLAYERS not one dimensional they can beat you in alo of ways. Colletti A+. We still have our future and he listens to scout the guys that actually watch these ballplayers day in & day out. First place Dodgers going for 2 outta 3 tomorrow!!!

  9. kssparkuhl@msn.com

So Joey, tell us please: which team to you like to call yourself a fan of? Oh, I get it… any team that plays against the Dodgers? Pathetic.

  10. drinkinmercury79@aol.com

I’m stuck listening to ***** Kruk and Kuip whenever they play the Dodgers too, those guys are the biggest homers in Baseball (well, tied with the White Sox announcers who call their team “The Good Guys”). Duane Kuiper’s sorta alright, but Mike Krukow is one of the most unprofessional sports announcers I have ever heard (worse than Cris Collinsworth and Jim Gray combined). Maybe he’s a good guy in person, but on the air, I’ve seen Tijuana dancers with more class.

But yeah, good to see the Dodgers get a win, though I only watched bits of the game while working register at a pizza place. My Giants-fan manager wasn’t in too good a mood, hehehehehehh. I’d like to watch every minute of it, but there’s a fat chance FSN Bay Area will replay that.

  11. elkim27@yahoo.com

They should have Betermit bat lefty all the time. He’s obviously not very comfortable batting right handed.

  12. rayloveselaine@losangeles-dodgers.net

i just read wat joey had to say, joey.. ur a *****.. kids let this be a lesson, dont drink and type… the funny thing is that u where proud that said u wanted the dodger lineup to like like that on march 12th…ur proud over being a dim-witted fan with to much time on his hands?… and as if ur rant wasnt moronic enough, u went out of ur way to defend paul depodest?.. just turn in ur dodger fan badge right now, u have been demoted to angel fan…

  13. jhall1218@yahoo.com

Given the opportunity, DePodesta will ruin the Padres. I wish the Giants had hired him. Joey, you need to go back on your medication.

  14. ryan1701@peoplepc.com

    Hi Josh:

Good seeing you in SF again and next time, bring a coat. Although you looked like you were about to make a pitching change wearing the Dodgers jacket. 🙂

  15. fliegel@ptd.net

Hey Joey, what are you smoking? I want some. Choi is in the minors where he belongs, and is hitting around 200 there. Depodesta was an idiot! He had no idea how to build a team. The Dodgers were 18 games over 500 when he blew up the team and turned them into a last place club. Thank god for Ned Colleti.
