Congrats to you and Nomar…

You guys did it!!

More later on this, but for now, here’s our lineup with a missing person in it…still TBA based on BP.

UPDATE: Martinez is now at second base. Also, we got the bad news that Eric Gagne has a herniated disc in his back. He received an epidural earlier today and we’ll see how he is tomorrow, but unfortunately this is not good news for him or Dodger fans.

Jeff Kent is also out of the lineup tonight, but it’s still more precautionary at this point. Stan Johnston told me a little while ago that he could’ve gone out there tonight, but they don’t want him to make it worse. He’s day-to-day at this point.

Furcal, SS

Lofton, CF

Nomar, 1B

Drew, RF

Martinez, 2B

Ethier, LF

Izzy, 3B

Martin, C

Hendrickson, P

    Congrats to Nomar.

Now why do the National League All-Stars have to wear such ugly Jerseys?

    Go Blue! Many Congrats Nomar!
quick question, yesterday on Dodgers Live there was a segment on a restaurant that Nomar and some of the blue frequent. It was a deli type place. Can’t think of the name. Can someone help me out with this? Thanks!

It would not only have been a tragedy for the Dodgers but a tragedy for the entire Major League Baseball if Nomar was not granted acceptance into the 06 All Star Game. Congratulations, and go Dodgers!

How about putting Izturis in the middle infield and starting Saenz at third? Or will we put Hall behind the plate and Martin at third?

How bout Izzy at short where he belongs! Good Job to everyone that voted we ALL know who the MVP of our team is I’m glad he’s representing in Pittsburgh. I’ll take a 3rd rate minor leaguer for Odalis. any takers! He’s better than Lima and the mets just called him back up!

After listening to the Dodger pre-game show, im curious what all the hype and scouting talk is regarding Hendrickson… I dont really see anything promising here- this guy had career 5+ ERA written all over him. Oh wait, he DOES have a career 5+ ERA…… We didnt give up much to get him, but this is no help.

We knew how SILLY dumping Navarro cheaply is. And we fans are not as silly as our “rubbish-collecting” GM.

Take a look at Hendrickson’s stuff, for the sake of Dodgers’ 2nd-half, we’d better send this long torso back to be a NBA forward.

Whats not to like about an 87 mph fastball and no real special late movement or location skills?

RBI single for Nomar…The hit streak is now at 18, proving yet again why he deserves that all star roster spot

Josh… What is it about Dodger Stadium and the bugs that keep the players waving their hands in front of their faces? I am seeing a pattern here every year when it starts to get hot and the sun is setting. It seems to be really annoying to the players. Can you give us some insight as to the issue? Thanks…

It’s a good thing Nomar made the all star team because he’s not having that great of a week otherwise. When is the last time someone got hit 4 times in 4 games?

I enjoyed watching Nomar thank all the fans on the pregame show last night, and am really looking forward to seeing him kick some AL butt.
    Nomar rocks!

Well,I was hoping against hope that Eric’s back pain wouldn’t be something major like this. Yep, you’re right Josh, this isn’t good news, particularly for Eric. If you get to talk to him, Josh, please tell him he’s got fans that love him and wish him speedy recovery.

oh great, another pitcher who throws in the 80s, works a lot of 0-2 counts and gets hit all around the ball park.

watched navarro last night on the dish. he is 5 – 15 for the d-rays. too early to tell, but i think navarro could have brought more in a trade (the marlins were asking for a OF, P and C in trade discussions for d-train willis).

also, i know r. martinez is batting .389 with runners in scoring pos, but wouldn’t ethier be a bigger threat batting behind

    jane d. drew?

and is it just me, or does k.lofton look like he is swinging wierd – like he is favoring something every time a pitch comes up and in?

To early to come to any conclusions about Hendrickson. Hopefully he’ll be of some help.
I’ve been wondering what it would take to pry Maddux away from the Cubs.

why is every so hard on Hendrickson. we didn’t give up anything, everyone in the league knows that Martin is our catcher of the future so to think that we would get anything for Navarro is crazy. Trading Seo & Navarro for Hendrickson we had nothing to lose. But gain a 6’9″lefty pitcher that is on pace to reach 200 innings as our number 3 give the guy some slack I thought he pitched well enough to win but had some jitters and didn’t catch any breaks! As for Furcal another pathetic effort put Lofton at leadoff Izzy number 2 till then our offense will be inconsistent just like our leadoff batter! LETS WIN Tonight!!

diehardblu – but we could have gotten someone better for Navarro and just released Seo

*ignores Hendrickson and poor Chad’s walk woes, high 5s all around for Nomar. He did it! We did it!*

I felt a bit weird stuffing the ballot box, but, well. He deserved it! Congrats Nomar. 🙂

I saw his home run last night in my very first game in Dodger stadium! Go Dodgers! What a game!
