All-Star balloting results
Just a few minutes ago, the first ballot results of All-Star voting came out and Andre Ethier ranks fourth among outfielders, while Matt Kemp is fifth in the National League. The latest can be found here.
Dodger fans support our players incredibly year after year when it comes to voting and now would be a great time to vote up to 25 times, if you haven’t already done so.
As for those of you who read this post on Inside the Dodgers (as opposed to the Dodgers’ facebook page, where this links), please forgive the delay in new posts last week. Been out of town for several days at a close friends’ wedding, which slowed down the posts but we should be back to normal again this week and in fact, I’ll be back out on the road this trip, where I look forward to meeting up with Jamie Ramsay, who runs Better off Red, the Reds’ version of Inside the Dodgers. He does a great job with the blog (better than us, these days!) so hopefully we’ll find a way to get all of you to chat with each other on both sites.
Thanks Josh and welcome back!!!
.
I’ve got my 25 votes in.
Thanks, Josh. We really do appreciate what you do for us.
Hi’Ya Trumom!! Here’s the latest Phew line:
.
………………..Avg/Obp/Slg/Ops/VORP
Phew………..265/328/306/634/+2.2
Loweeney…249/293/326/619/-4.0
.
Another good game or two by Loweeney and he could pass the Phew line and lose the Loweeney tag.
I think Loweeney has been listening to you…he wants so bady to prove you wrong π
I hope he does. Right now 1st base and Catcher are our worst performing positions.
The first base position has only produced 26 runs(runs + rbi – HR). The same at Catcher.
.
Both among the worst 3 in baseball.
.
Its just UNACCEPTABLE!!!
I hate to say it but I’m beginning to like Navarro better than Barajas. Just wonder why they don’t give Ellis a chance?
Money!! Ned went out and spent 3.25M on Barajas and 1M on Navarro. Ellis still makes his minor league salary. None of these guys are a viable option going forward!!!
True…money does talk.
Pierre actually has a plus VORP?
I’ve got a new, improved graphic: (_|_) Nice π
LMAO!! Very nice!!!
I’m bored as hell….doing laundry…ugh!
Is that your bottom line?
( . )_( . ) π
Chuckle!!!
Must be Playtex – it lifts and separates.
LOL…..mine is actually (.)_(.) training bra! π

So I read that payroll was met today. Again McCheap had to borrow by using “creative means”, specifically giving discounts on the fees charged and by offering luxury suite tickets for free to his backers. Those taking advantage of these creative discounts were not named. If they were named I know they would be boycotted by the true blue faithful, I can only speculate that FOX broadcasting might have recieved benefit of these discounts. STOP giving McCheap ANY MONEY. He and his wife have proven they are not responsible with previous money given to them, and incapable of providing proper stewardship to bring the Los Angeles Dodgers to a championship. Stop the insanity.
This team seems to play considerably better with furcal in the lineup.. And can we get rid of miles PLEASE
Kind of looks like Jim Tracy has come back to Earth as Rockies genius manager. Never doubted he had mediocrity running through his veins…just check out his Dodger tenure. Speaking of mediocrity, look at Ned–and then look at what Kevin Towers has done with the D-Backs since last September. Give Gibby credit, but give a lot to Towers, too.
.
Is Frank still here? Even the FRONT PAGE of the L.A. Times is noting the fan boycott and franchise misery. GO AWAY, Frank, and take your ex wife and unethical salary-robbing kids with you.
Lots of teams put out a better on field product with less money than our current lineup. When funds are tight(for legitimate reasons or because of the McCourts over indulgent lifestyle), you need a GM that has a clue and some baseball saavy. Ned has neither!!!
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water:

http://mikesciosciastragicillness.com/2011/05/31/whos-going-to-lose-their-job-when-marcus-thames-returns/
Damn….I was hoping they forgot Thames was on the team! Even though he says it will be Jerry, I’d rather see Gibbons go….Gwynn can’t hit worth shit but he has a great glove. Another fine mess, Neddy!
Whos-going-to-lose-their-job-when-marcus-thames-returns?
.
It should be Ned.
(_|_) (_\_) (_|_) (_\_) (_|_) getting comfy π
Whew! For a second there I thought you were scooting.
LMFAO!!! Outstanding!!!
I’m encouraged to see the growing number of EMPTY SEATS and the media attention this is now getting. They even call it the fans’ boycott. It’s obviously making Frank dig his own hole, from which he may never climb out. Keep on borrowing from the future income stream and keep discounting those future revenues, and sooner rather than later you’re going to hit that wall that you won’t be able to climb. You have NO FUTURE as an owner, so SELL THE TEAM you all-despised bastard, leave town, drop dead, take all who follow you with you (especially Ned, Rawitch, and the entire coaching and medical staff). The city hates your guts, the country hates your guts; you ought to be serving time behind bars for the rest of your life, which hopefully is very short.

I feel better now.
Come on, Bear, I hate it when you hold back!
Got my 75 votes in.
My email, work email, wifes email. Get it done guys. If anything, just to make sure Victorino doesn’t get it
Tonights lineup:
Carroll, SS
Blake, 3B
Dre, RF
Matt, CF
James,1B
Jerry, LF
Navarro, C
Miles, 2B
Lilly, P
Thanks Trumom!!!
I think most of us forgot about Thames. Nothing surprising here; Sands has options. As I have said many times, Sands has shown something but not enough to force management’s hands into DFA’ing a veteran. Besides, they can’t DFA a player on the DL so we just have to wait and see what happens. Perhaps someone else comes up with a magical injury.
As for attendance figures, I took a quick look this morning at the box scores from yesterday’s games and noticed most teams had signifcantly lower ticket sold figures vs. capacity. Not sure what this means other than to notice that many teams are down in attendance. Only one team had a sellout and that was in Oakland with the Yankees in town. I do believe the opening day problem and general dislike of the McCourts has something to do with a decline in attendance but clearly other teams are having problems selling tickets as well. The big difference as everyone knows is the Dodgers have never had a problem selling tickets, even when teams were not very good. How much is due to the McCourt factor is anyone’s guess.
I think the fans disgust with the McCourts is the main reason for the drop in attendance. Like you said, the Dodgers have never had a problem selling tickets before. And all the other reasons for not attending were present. Including violent acts in the stadium parking lot. (Sept 03 man shot and killed, April 09 man stabbed) The only new variable in the equation is the McCourts.
.
Through Sunday, attendance was down 7,013 per game, 196,367 for the season. In a tough economy, nearly half the Major League teams have suffered attendance drops. But nothing like the Dodgers’ slide. On average, league attendance has fallen 302. The Angels, for example, are down 576 fans per game.
I like Sands I know the average isn’t there yet but it will come with more time I would HATE to see thames take playing time from him, if were not going anywhere this season we should atleast let the future like sands get experience rather then worthless pvls who won’t be here this time next year
I think the dwindling attendance is a combination of a sub-par team that doesn’t score, the mccourt boycott, the recession, and less offense throughout baseball as we move towards the end of the steroid era
Jhall, I do understand the Dodgers attendance slide is higher than the average decline. I am sure our good friend Mr. Selig is well aware of this. Unlike many of you, I don’t want to see the Dodgers continue to lose just so fewer and fewer people attend games. However, I am not surprised at the decline and clearly this decline (and what may still come) is being felt upstairs at Dodger Stadium. My concern is how long MLB will put up with this and how long will it take before Frank McCourt finally runs out of options for cash. You have to admit, this guy is resourceful and does not seem to care that he is just making things worse by his (and her) shenanigans. So I suppose the only thing left for fans is to vote with their dollars and while I am not willing to do that quite yet, I do understand why others would.
Yep, all he is doing is borrowing against the future revenues of this team and devaluing it. Exactly why Jamie wants it to be sold now while it still has a high value. I guess we just have to wait until June 15th. I assume that will be the next time Bud will get an easy chance to take over the team if McScum doesn’t meet payroll. From the sounds of how he made this payroll, his options are drying up quickly.
Got all my votes in. Kemp, Ethier, and Kershaw should be no brainers.
I did too although I must admit I have never been too keen on the idea of the fans voting. There are names on the All Star ballot of players who some might question whether they belong on a major league roster let alone an all star team.
Sinc the All-Star Game “counts”…I think the players and managers should do the voting. Fans just vote for players they like, not players who are worthy.
Honestly, I find the AS game boring as hell!
Sands could use some seasoning in the minors, but when compared to everyone else in left, he’s the cream of the crap.
.
I see Furcal needs a night off already. Pathetic.
Watching Giants/Cards and I’ll bet, even though their averages are sky high, the Cards have a worse RISP than we do! Maybe not worse, but I’ll bet it’s not that good.
Not cool that a little while ago they asked William and Deuce dad to leave batting practice. They gave season tix in the left field pavilion. Realize that this is the only stadium that the pavilion ate not connected. I think everyone should be allowed. U no longer have the center field gate open where pavilion fans could go. Not cool.
Good job, Matt!
WTG Kemper!!!
M-A-T-T-Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO-HOO!!!!
From the looks of it early…..BOYCOTT IS WORKING π
Cool!!
Hi Everybody
Got get Ethier & Kemp in there.
The only concern I have about the diminished attendance is that “someone” will decide that the extra security now in place should be cut back in the name of saving a buck or two.
So why is it that Deuce went from being a darling being shown in Dodger vision a lot to being an “unwashed” like TJ likes to say.
Probably need to ask Josh about that one Emma.
Come on Lilly…don’t make this difficult for us!
Ugh….Miles sucks!
Its players like Miles that make the pile steam!!
And, of course, they wouldn’t think of getting rid of the pile of shit. We need infielders, afterall!
The rabbits are on the run with Lilly on the mound. .
That was NOT an all star caliber play by Ethier to allow the run. Why would anyone pay the money it takes to get into Dodger stadium to watch that?
Way to go Casey!!
WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Matt comes through again! It looks like he’s having fun again.
I think Matt needed to have Joe & Co. leave. He’s playing like he loves the game again.
4 RBI’s for MATT!
Nice job Kemper!!!
And then there’s BaLoney.
Phoney BaLoney!!!
We need a name for Miles π
Piles.
Worthless!!!
LMAO!! Piles it is!!
Yep….Piles, it is!
Jerry! Keep it up kid!
And, wouldn’t you know it? Piles doubles!!!!
I got your Piles!!! LOL!!!
Nothing like having double piles!
LOL!! Yuck!!!
A definite pain in the (_|_) π
Who are these guys?
I think they have figured out that with our pitching, we need MANY, MANY RUNS!
Nice to see the Dodgers with some live ammo in their bats for a change over these past few days.
It certainly is, OBF. Good to see you here tonight π
Hi, Oldbrooklynfan….good to see you.
Just hope the ammo holds out for a long time. .
The Heat looked tough tonight.
Damn, I know! I hate that team.
I like Wade, but not the rest of the team. Lebron’s waaay over rated.
I agree! I think LeBron is in it for money & fame…not for the love of the game.
Chit!
At least it was a solo…I don’t mind it too much unless, there are men on and then they hit one.
Yep, solo shots sting a little, but most of the time they won’t kill ya….
Yeah. Still gotta feel pretty good with a 3 run lead, even with this bullpen.
I’m no fan of Lilly’s, but you can’t ask much more out of your #4/5 starter.
He did surpisingly well tonight, indeed.
Ditto!!! Nice job tonight by Lilly!!! You ever notice how much better our pitchers do when we get them a big early lead? It’s alot easier to pitch when you’re not worried about one mistake losing you the game.
Agreed. Pretty solid outing from Ted.
Yay…we get to see Gibbons this inning π
LOL…a damn hit!
(__|__)
I like!
Kinda looks like the south end of a north bound hippo.
That’s Gibson!! LOL!!!
Woo hoo!
Mighty Casey hits one out!
All right, Casey! WTG!!!
Wah-Hoo Casey!!! Now that was a (__|__) fly!!!
Wow…holy shit….As enchanted would say: Who the hell are these guys?!!!
I want to know who these guys are and what have they done with our team.
They’re hopped up on Meth. That’s really what the fire was. Franks gotta Meth Lab going to try and make June payroll.
Amazing MLB allows Frank to get away with spending future revenues again.
Notice excessive spitting of tobacco juice, and seriously chomping on sunflower seeds & gum? LMFAO
(_o_) (_o_) Booty call!
Looks like Frank & Furter getting ready to kiss their ass goodye.
LOL!
(_$_) (_$_) Good-bye Frank & Ned!
LMAO!!!
\ ! / Jamies here for booty call!!!
L M ( . )_( . ) O!!!!!
Let me guess. It must be after liposuction. LOL
Ha-Ha!
Good one VL!!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jamie gets LimoSuction!!!!
LimoSuction….LMFAO!!!
Or gives it!!
What’s exciting is that RBI’s are being picked up by someone not named Ethier and Kemp.
Refreshing isn’t it? I’m loving it!
Come on Rubby Baby!
Wow…nice job! Teach the rest of the BP how to do it!
Yep! That was some serious slinging by the kid!
Paid attendance- 31,473
Dodgereric ~ that’s what Vinny says. I counted the people there myself and there are only 12, 111 π
Thanks Trumom!!
Boy, you leave them for a day and look what happens….. geez!!!
I’m so glad you showed up here….they were getting out of control!
Welcome home mom!!
Aw gee whiz mom, I’ve been being good tonight.
Woo-Hoo, win streak!!!
All I have to say about tonights game is: WOO-HOO!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!
RUB-BY!!
I’m really enjoying this offensive burst these last 3 games!
Ooooh, Rubby all over and make me write bad checks!!
Hope they get the sweep tomorrow against Ubaldo!

He’s getting close.
Once upon a time there was a comedian named George Carlin. You might remember him. If you do, you might remember this (and it’s from memory, so forgive me if I’m a little off):
.
Here are some words that have never been said before: “Hand me that piano.” “Do what you want to the girl, but leave me alone”
.
To which we can add as words never before said: “Gee, if only our first baseman could have an OBP and OPS like Juan Pierre!”
Juan Pierre and James Loney in the same sentence – blah!!!!
Oh if they could only keep up this offensive surge.
Hey jhall! Nice to read you! You too, Brooklyn!
Tony Gwynn, Jr. did not get into the game tonight, snapping his consecutive games played streak at 24.
Damn. And Ripken’s record was only a little over 16 years away.
.
I blame Donnie.
lol don’t worry Kemp is over 200+
The competition is always fierce among outfielders, and hereβs where the Dodgersβ stars ranked among National League outfielders before Tuesday:
* Batting average: Ethier third (.330), Kemp sixth (.308).
* On-base percentage: Ethier fourth (.404), Kemp sixth (.387).
* Slugging percentage: Kemp fourth (.556), Ethier 13th (.464).
* Home runs: Kemp second (13), Ethier in a five-way tie for 27th (five).
* Runs batted in: Kemp tied for fourth (36), Ethier 18th (26).
* Stolen bases: Kemp third (14), Ethier not worth mentioning.
Itβs possible they both end up all-stars, if they can maintain this hitting, of course.
By The Numbers: 16βOutfield assists for the Dodgers, tied for the most in the majors with the Royals. Rookie Jerry Sands has four, while Tony Gwynn Jr. and Matt Kemp have three each.
Whoever wrote this article forgot Ethier is also tied with Sands.
Quote To Note: βTremendous. Heβs a Gold Glover. But you have to be an everyday guy to get the Gold Glove. My chest always sticks out when he makes a catch. He made a great sliding catch the other day, and I was like, βEhhh, thatβs a four.β Heβs that good. Thatβs dad talking. But I love what be brings to the table. Sometimes you just have to be who you are. Defensively, he brings it every day. He played for me his last year at San Diego State. I knew he was good. When he was a kid, he shagged at Qualcomm (Stadium) and weβd do drills out there. But I didnβt know he was that good. Heβs a top-of-the-line defender. He can play all three spots and play all three equally.ββTony Gwynn, Sr. on the defense of his son, Tony Jr.
Keep those SEATS EMPTY, Dodger fans!
*
Tony Gwynn, Jr. doesn’t belong in the major leagues no matter how much respect we may have for his old man. The Padres realized it, but we don’t. That’s because our own system of player development has been rendered bankrupt by giving up those prospects that anybody else wanted in order to secure some PVL’s. Can’t wait to have all these coaches and front office worthless bastards GONE.
Messagebear…I hate to write this. But my son just got promoted from Kindergarten (today) and for his gift he wants to go see the Dodgers play tonight. So yes, we will be going today, but just because my son (who is only 6) requested. Baseball is his passion. He just finished Little League about a week ago and he already misses the sport. Dodgers is his favorite team and he did get GREAT grades at school. I hate contributing to Frank funds, but at this time I don’t think he will be receiving funds. The players will! I wish the Dodgers lot’s of luck and I hope Frank sales the team ASAP (hopefully before I get there). And I am still praying!
I am so delighted to hear about your son’s benchmark event, and I think this would be a well deserved and great occasion for him to see a Dodger game. I hope the Dodgers endure as one of his lifelong pleasures, as I’m sure they have been for so many of us older fans. Please wish him my personal best, and my congratulations to you for having such a joy in your life.
Hear, hear bear! Well and excellently said! I wish I had written it. The only thing I would add is to treasure every moment they are small. It doesn’t seem like it while you’re raising them, but that time doesn’t last very long.
Congrats and well done to you and your son. Enjoy the game.
That is wonderful Rosie!!! Being close to the kindergarten age group, it is so fun to watch them grow their first year of school. Our kinders graduated today… so cute!!!!
.
My son is graduating from high school tonight, and they are just kindergarteners in 17/18 year old bodies, just not as cute – LOL!!!!! (jk) I am very proud of him too π
OK the last few games have been great, but I might become optimistic if we stop umbaldo from getting his first win, and the dodgers get the sweep.
Something tell me that Torre is managing the Cubs now lol.
Last night Marmol was horrible.

How in the hell can he pitches 2 days in a row after throwing 23 pitches and giving up 6 runs the prior night? Yes, he did much better today but still that is crazy to let someone pitch back to back games giving up 6 runs but the Cubs do have an off tomorrow.
Tonight’s Lineup

I guess all the old guys are done resting.
Poor Matty…he will be walked to get to Gibbons & Loney!
Hell, depending on the situation, they may walk Andre, too!
DODGERS NOTEBOOK: Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn pays visit to son, Dodgers reserve outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr.

Gibbons has gotta be the worst 5 hole hitter in baseball
Yep!! And, we’ve probably got 2 or 3 of the remaining 4 on our roster. Way to go Ned!!! A true testament to your baseball sense.
After 5+ years of watching Ned, I’ve come to the conclusion that he’s a Darwinist – his teams obviously lack intelligent design.
I think Ned is simply an (_|_) O !
Nice Beav!! I think you are right Trumom!!!
http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=ellis-001and
I wonder the reason Ellis not on the big league club is that they wanted him to play everyday so he can take over next season. He have a good obp and take more walk than k’s.
His fpct suck this season and he can’t throw out baserunners.
Hi ITD
This Dodger offense is really looking good lately. If the pitching continues the pace it has so far this season and this hitting, of late, keeps up.
It could be fun.
OBF, that is the neat thing about baseball; one day your team looks like crap and the next day it looks unbeatable.
Yep, we go from Good Grief to YAY π
I think there might be a large crowd tonight…..afterall, it’s Mattingly’s bobblehead night π
Amazing isn’t it..
How does he even earn a bobblehead?!
LOL!! Desperation!!! They’re just slapping any head on a cheap Chinese figure to lure in the suckers. Hell, they all look pretty much the same.
UGH!!!
Was it a legitimate triple, or a Gibble?!!
I guess from the way Vinny is talking, it was legit.
Matt tried to dive for the ball and it went past him. It would have probably been a single.
Vinny was being kind π
That sucks!! Oh well, he makes alot of those catches.
Yep, sometimes you’re just better off not going for it.
I still appreciate the effort.
Not as bad as I thought it would be.
HiYa Trumom!! Can always count on you!! I’m shocked you didn’t bust the bank to go to the game for a DonDo bobblehead. LOL!!!
I would have to rob a bank to afford a game now. Unbelievable what they pay to attend these games.
C’mon Trumom, they’re giving away a freaking $5 (if that) useless figurine with a bobbly head.
Andre or Matt maybe, no way Donnie! π
Then again, I could get one cheap on ebay.
Hell, you can pick them up cheap on e-bay!!!
.

.
I’m mooning Frank and Ned!!!
Huge (__|__) (__|__)
Doesn’t look like Gagland is going to be around very long. Unless, of couse, we have a run explsion.
Good evening all.
Down by two early. Here’s hoping they can come from behind to finish the sweep. .
Hi’Ya VL!!
Come from (_|_) they will!
I ain’t counting on it.
F*ck!
Sheeee-it!
Back to normal I see…
Hi’Ya Beav!! Yep!! These last 3 games will just be a blip on a rather blank radar when all is said and done. I see where Gwynns games played streak ended last night. Sorry dude. Don’t worry though, Kemps is still going. LOL!!!!!!!
How’s the crowd look Trumom?
Not as large as I thought it would be with the freaking giveaway.
Thanks Trumom.
I guess Donnie isn’t that popular π
LOL!! I think he sucks (__|__)!!!
It’s just like having JoJo!! Both (_|_) clowns!!!
Maybe \ | / ‘s
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The team “catching fire” usually consists of winning two, maybe even three games in a row.
.
If Ned was smart, which he’s not, he’d be looking to deal Furcal & Blake here in the next few weeks along with Kuroda, Lilly, Garland, Blimpo, and Carroll for some decent prospects.
When has Ned done anything smart?! Perhaps stealing Manny for a summer was good for Frank’s wallet. I guess getting Dre was the only thing he did right.
Well you said it, if Ned were smart. Hell, there’s a whole lot of bafoons out there that think this team actually has a freaking shot at winning the division. I know the division is not very good, but, it ain’t that bad.
Who in the hell told Garland he was a pitcher. He stinks
π π ) )
He is not terrible for a #5 starter.
Mediocre at best in my opinion. .
Yep, but our offense is a much bigger problem than Garland!!
What offense! π
Except for Dre & Matt, we may as well get drinks and snacks when everybody else bats.
Lindblom warming in the pen.
Damn! It appears the offense has returned to its previous slumber. Jimenez’ going through this lineup like sh*t through a goose so far. .
LMAO!!! Not surprising when you actually look at the lineup!! They’ve just had a couple of good days against some very bad pitching. We’re gonna see more of this than what we’ve seen the last few days. JMO
Ubaldo Jimenez doesn’t look any different tonight than he ever does so far.
Yeah, its never good when your #5 has to pitch like your #1 because the team can’t score.
Freaking Cardinals blew another save. They had the G’nats down 5 to 4 in the 9th. Now tied. I’d love to unload Broxton on them.
All closers suck! Most relief pitchers, as a whole, suck!
It’ll never happen with Larussa at the helm there. He’s got more smarts & sense than most managers.
Yep, I know I’m dreaming. Besides, DonDo and Neddy don’t know when to get off a sinking ship.
What is bad is that was Salas first blown save of the year.
We can call Piles Gomer π
Hey, good job by Garland. Quality start!!
Assuming Lindblom comes in for Garland, wouldn’t it have made more sense to let him make his debut yesterday, say in the 9th up by 6 runs? Theoretically down by 3, you still have a chance, just in case Lindblom comes in and stinks up te joint.
And, here he is!!!
And, yes, he stinks!
Wild pitch?! Ruh Roh!!
Just sayin’, he could’ve pitched an inning last night with no pressure whatsoever. Now you’re throwing him in a game where he’s supposed to keep you close.
Maybe everyone else in the league this year had beaten Ubaldo Jimenez, bur we sure as hell won’t
lol just remember he was 9-2 at home last year before we beat him twice he was due to get a win.
What winner did we keep out of ST in , what was it 2009?, instead of Lindblom when he was burning it up that spring? Had to have been one of Ned’s great “finds.”
The kid was sure lucky there – thank you Loney!
That was an awesome play by James!
If Lindblom doesn’t make it, there’s another one you can chalk up to Ned being stupid. Kid was a very good reliever in college, was sensational that one spring training, then they tried to convert him into a starter and fucked him all up.
This can’t be Ned fault because Lindblom was a starter in high school and he was convert to a reliever in college.
Alright. Loney saved the kids ( | ).
Geez, that was quick!!!
Maybe next time we’re up, I’ll flash my ( . )_( . ) to get them excited!
LOL!!! Let’em have it Trumom!!!
If that doesn’t work, I’ll try a Jamie π
LOL!! Unfortunately, most of the players Ned dredged from the dumpster have PETERED out. A very limp bunch.
Whatever happened to working the count to run the starters pitch count up? When they started to abandon that, which I think coincides with after the all-star break last year, this team hasn’t scored worth a crap ever since.
Yep, except for Carroll, we’ve not been doing that much anymore.
Paid attendance – 36,975
Amazing what a Donnie bobblehed can do!
*bobblehead
Thanks Trumom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still down almost 8000 from this game last year π
Chit! Carroll made a boo boo!
Good thing tomorrow’s an off day. Looks like Donnie’s going to blow through the bullpen again.
Dodger4life would say: “RALLY”!
It would be: RALLY TIME!
Pffffffffft!!!
Please no smoking, or open flames. Peeu-pane gas may be present. .

How many runs you think we score in the series against Philly? I’m guessing 2.
Probably not many. They haven’t been scoring much either these days!!
Safe to say it will be much less than what they get in Cincy. The Phillies starters are gonna be tough. .
If we’re lucky! Actually, they aren’t scoring much either. However, they haven’t faced our stellar BP.
( | )~~~
Careful where you aim that thing!!
Too funny!
Attention!
General Fart…….Commander sh*t is on the way!!
.
.
Whoa! Signs of life from Furcal?
Where’s Private Poop and Corporal Crap?
I’m sure you will find them, Enchanted π
RALLY TIME!!!
And the Pile is steaming again!!!
Road trip!
They have their work cut out for them. .
Oh, well. Better luck for us on Friday.
I think that we’re going to be accelerating these numbers for a while. We won’t have another game from 2010 that had less than 40,000 until Game 53.
.
Imagine how much lower they’d be if they were actually reflecting the a-t-t-e-n-d-a-n-c-e at the game.

What the hell and once again tell me why did we get Podsednik instead of calling up someone up from the minor?
MESSAGEBEAR….Thanks for your thoughful wishes. He had a great time, a little dissapointed at the final score. But he was glad that 3 of his (for now) favorite players actually got to play…Carroll, Furcal & Ethier. He was mad at the fact that our pitchers was being called with alot of balls and the other pitcher had more strikes…LOL It was funny. But I had to explain to him that our pitcher sucked in a nice and kiddy way. He wanted for Mr. Bobblehead to change pitchers. He is starting to scream at the calls just like the grownups do…LOL He thinks he knows it all. He was able to see Nancy B. from where we were seating, thank God for her bright green shirt she was wearing. (Happy Wedding Anniversary Nancy & Hubby!)

JOSH…the sound quality at the stadium was not as good as other times. I’m sure that due to cut-backs we are using 1 speaker instead of the surround sound. LOL The best part was NO LONG LINES (in a way it was sad) but glad I did not takes 1 hour to park, or miss a whole inning just to get a drink or miss 2 innings for using the restroom.
I’m glad your boy had such a nice experience. Maybe you need to take him out another time when Kersh is pitching. At least the chances would be much better for a winning outcome.
OH yeah my son loves Kershaw! Hopefully one day he does get to see him pitch. We were there when Kershaw had his pro pitching debut. But he was way younger and he doesn’t remember much.
And thank you Eric & Jhall for your congrats I will be telling my son.
How old is he?
6 years old!
Oh ok
I was at last night’s game and noticed a lot of empty seats for a bobblehead giveaway. My guess is there might have been close to 30,000 in attendance. Not sure what Jimenez’ problems have been so far this season but he looked unhittable. He had the hitters off balance and hitting a lot of balls of the end of the bat. I know some will say big deal, look to whom he was pitching but these were the same guys who had no trouble against other Rockies pitchers the two previous games. Dodger pitchers may have been a bit anxious but they knew Urbaldo was throwing strike making working the count more difficult. The best at bat was Miles pinch hitting for Garland. He fouled of a bunch of pitches before finally getting a single. Other than that the rest of the Dodger hitters looked helpless.
That was one of the great moments of the game…LOL Well I did enjoy Loney’s dive and then stretch for the out on 1st base.
I hear they are making a movie about Jackie Robinson. Question: Who would you choose to portray him?
Denzel Washington but he might be too old.
Padilla is supposed to be activated tomorrow….who goes?
Probably Troncoso and other news Cormier just cleared waiver and is now a FA but I see Thome is back on the DL poor guy. I wanted him to get to 600 career HR’s he deserve it.
Geez Cardinals seriously? Huff just hit a 3rd HR’s.
Here’s a suggested new thread if we need one later:
