Bloggers invade Dodger Stadium

Our annual blog night is tonight and we had a great turnout from about 15 different sites…

Among those who stopped by to say hello were Ned Colletti (for an hour), Ron Cey, Sweet Lou Johnson, Kim Ng, Dennis Mannion and the Miller delivery guy from the commercials.

Now, let’s hope the Dodgers can pull out a victory in the bottom of the ninth and make it a perfect night.

It’s unbelievable how eastern teams regardless of what league they’re in own the Dodgers. Can’t beat the beasts from the east.

Even though we lost, this game had some fight to it. I listened to the game most of the time because I was busy cooking and such, but it was actually enjoyable to listen to as well. It was good to see the bullpen keep us in the game, and the offense doing what they could to try and come back.

For you movie buffs out there…… Thanks to jungar for posting it on FB.

In the movie “Back to the Future,” Doc sets the time clock in the Delorean to a day 25 years in the future. Today is that day…………July 5, 2010.

So, how do you feel now? LOL!!!

I post this from the other thread. I can’t believe Molina made it and it should’ve been McCann to start Olivo backing him up and how the hell did Rhodes and Meek made it? The only Pirates rep should be Mccutchen. If you going to used those 2 especially Rhodes than you have to have Kuo there.

I agree Kuo deserves all star recognition, but it’s just as well for us he gets those days off.

I was surprised to see Belisario went three innings last night. I had assumed Kuo and Broxton would not be used because of their recent work. Just makes me wonder if Weaver, Kuo, Belisario and Brox are the only ones Joe really trusts when we’re still in the ball game?

    Hello there
So the Dodgers can’t translate what they do to the west, to the east.
The worst part is we have the worst record in the west against the teams in the east.
I believe that’s what makes it hard for them to be voted on or chosen to the All-Star roster.
It’s hard enough playing behind the western curtain but not being able to beat the east makes it worse.
Things are better against the central 14-10, but that 4-11 records hurts and if you add the Yankees and the Red Sox, that makes then 5-15.
Ahh but let’s forget that tonight and win.
    GO DODGERS…Ya Bums!!!!

Bored…so when Blake struck out with a man on second, I decided to see who are the Dodgers’ most clutch regulars. So…with runners in scoring position:
    1) Furcal–.370
    2) Loney–.361
    3) Manny–.352
    Worst) Martin–.218
    And with two outs:
    1) Kemp–.345
    2) Loney–.340
    3) Blake–.333
    Worst) Ethier–.130

I’m here at the game down the 3rd base line and that Matty homerun was beautiful! No doubt about it!

    Alright Andre!!!!!

I am listening to the game so when Andre hit his homerun, I did my usually standing up and cheering, and my son Michael, goes “he hit a homerun, didn’t he?” I said, “yep!!”, and Matt goes “who? Oh!! Never mind, of course!” He’s learning dad, he’s learning – LOL!!!!

BTW – Way to go Casey as well!!!! I didn’t see the last couple of innings. I just happened to sit back down as Andre came up to bat.

Vinny said Belisario was warming up and didn’t he pitch 3 innings last night? Of course he did I don’t think I want to see him in this game.

With all the dumpster diving Ned has done in search of pitching, why hasn’t he signed the D-Train? I don’t even mean for this season. A young lefty with a live arm and great competitive fire…I’m amazed he’s still available.

In Torre’s eyes GA deserves at bats, so go figure.

I see where Ned’s saying all the right things for now – we’re talking with Seattle and Houston and Arizona, but nothing’s imminent. Next will be the obligatory, “we tried everything we could, but it just didn’t make any sense.” Then comes the inevitable trading of what’s left of the farm for a piece of garbage like Harang.

Nice to see Kemp mashing. If that kid is ever able to harness his entire ability and mentally keep his head in the game, we might see a perennial 40/40 man.

Just hope we don’t see it for another ballclub.

For any true Dodger fan in Southern California, the only place to be on Saturday July 10th is Pepperdine University in Malibu where The Dodgers Legends Team plays a game of ball against the Hollywood Celebrity Team coached by Pete Rose. 6 pm game time. Eddy D Field Stadium. Here?s the lineup. Steve Garvey, Ron Cey, Bill Russell, Steve Yeager, Jerry Reuss, Jay Johnstone, Maury Wills, Kenny Landreaux, Rudy Law, Mike Lieberthal, Todd Zeile, Bobby Castillo, Lee Lacy, the names go on and on. For more information go to http://www.naturalbalance.net . You can meet and get autographs and photos of many of these players at the Family Fan Festival before the game starting at 2 pm. You wont see this group on the playing field again! And Garvey has stated he would like nothing better than to beat a Pete Rose team. Can’t wait to see it!

Sounds like a blast, alsglac. Unfortunately, I’m in NorCal, where the true Dodgers fans remind the Giants fans to keep dusting those empty trophy cabinets.

Wonder why the Dodgers haven’t promoted it. Maybe because it has to do with ACTUAL DODGER TRADITION. McCourt wouldn’t get excited unless Carlton Fisk, Jim Rice and/or Wade Boggs was involved.

In a good show of McCourt inching towards “getting it”, they returned the Hollywood Stars game to baseball (instead of softball). Almost makes me want to make it out for the game… if it wasn’t for the 485 miles and all.

LeBron’s gonna make his decision on “The Decision” – an hour-long broadcast on ESPN hosted by Jim Gray. His “decision” will be announced within the first 10 minutes, after which it will be a Q&A session with Gray.

Don’t know about LeBron, but I’ve made my “Decision”: To find out what team he chose on the internet, saving myself from having to listen to Jim Gray’s nattering schmuckery.

I’m tire of hearing about LeBron. I agree, I will surf the net and not waste an hour long on him. Actually I’m not wasting my time to surf. I’ll just wait to see my husbands face. If he is happy he went to the Bulls, if he is sad he didn’t.

Torre is just going with the experienced left fielder for the Marlins best pitcher. How nice of him to do that.

Hello gang!!! Nice to see you Nelly and Trumom!!! Always makes the games nicer when you are in the house. GA, go figure!!! Torre being Torre, I guess. LOL!!! Got our work cut out for us tonight against this Johnson guy!! Kuroda out of the 1st with no runs is a good sign. Let’s go Dodgers!!!!

Just read where Belisario went on the restricted list for “personal reasons.” Torre says he knows nothing about this and Ned is declining to comment on it. Does anyone know anything about this?

I think it’s a sneaky way to bring up Monasterious without having to send Belisaro to AAA.

Not sure why JoJo is dead set on playing Anderson. Geez, JoJo, you should be auditioning the young guys for left field. Manny is gone next year. I kind of hope you are too!!!

Did anyone get the number of the truck that hit Kuroda. I don’t know what’s up with Kuroda lately, but we’re going to need him to get back to his old consistent self. With the way Johnson has been pitching lately it looks like I’ll be going to bed early tonight.

  31. jhallwally's avatar
    jhallwally

LOL Trumom!!! Me too!!! Kuroda’s tank is nearly empty overall!!! Alot of innings over the years are piling up on him. I’m glad we don’t have him under contract for next year!!!

    Hi Everybody
I just got back from the San Paolino di Nola Feast at Our Lady of Carmel and the only good news I see is the Padres lost.
Josh Johnson looked a little fatigued last inning maybe the Dodgers are getting to him.
    But he still looks tough.
    GO DODGERS…PICK IT UP.

This is just strange about Belisario, and it really doesn’t sound good at all.

Well, maybe we’ll see a no-hitter if Johnson keeps it up!!! LOL!!! And, yes, I am hoping to jinx him terribly!!!!!

At least Kuroda has settled down. If you take out the 2nd inning he hasn’t pitched that badly.

    Yes 32 & 53,
I’ll miss about a half a game every night while the feast is on.

They say there will be 54 games we’re sure to win and 54 we’re sure to lose.
It’s the other 54 that will tell the story.
    Belisario is a real puzzle.
Tying and breaking records the team set in Brooklyn is always bitter sweat for me.

I hate that Furcal streak is going to end on a team shuting us out. I’d rather the streak is snap if we score 3 to 4 runs.

So, what do you think is up with Bellisario? How does he get put on a restricted list again and for what? Or is this just another way for FranknNednJoe to mess with the roster spots for whatever reason?

  42. enchantedbeaver's avatar
    enchantedbeaver

Last night was another perfect example of why this year’s team just isn’t going to cut it even if it somehow makes the playoffs – they just can’t hit good pitching period, and their starters 95% of the time just don’t have the wherewithall to keep it even.

Whatever’s up with Belisario, be it Ned just manipulating the roster again or alcohol, drugs or whatever, is just another indication of just how dysfunctional this club is.

What I see when I look at this club is a totally worthless front office, a manager out of touch, an ineffective coaching staff, and 25 players going multiple directions. I see a team that’s badly in need of an overhall from the top down, at least starting at GM since Frank won’t sell. I see a team in need of some players in their prime, especially pitching. I see a team in need of a manager that embraces young talent over washed-up PVLs.

    BTW, happy friggin’ Thursday!!

With all the talk these days about the bereavement and restricted list……Which one would you say Frank and his checkbook are on?
