Getting underway in Taiwan…

It’s just about midnight in Los Angeles, 1 a.m. in Phoenix and 4 p.m. here in Taipei and after a rain delay of a couple hours, it looks like we’re going to start the game shortly.

If you’re awake and tracking the game on MLB.com, here’s some light reading from the Huffington Post, where Joe Favorito details the international brand growth of the Dodgers. It’s a well-written piece that explains why these games are so important to the team and the league.

The lineup here in Taiwan will be:

Robinson, RF

Carroll, SS

Manny, DH

Loney, 1B

Belliard, 3B

Paul, CF

Restovich, LF

Hu, 2B

Closser, C

Towers, P

I believe that’s Jordan Danks, John’s younger brother. He’s a prospect that should see time with the Sox this year. I’ve definitely heard of situations where a manager has had to put one of his pitchers in the field but it’s pretty rare.

Good Morning Dodger Faithful and our Beloved Boy’s in Blue.
    .
Seesky, I was locked out in responding last night, I agree with your comments though.
    .
I watched a little high school baseball last night in the rain…..and enjoyed every wet minute. Going back for some more today, although it is sunny and windy.
    .
I am glad to read that Kershaw did well yesterday and how he is maturing along the way. I must say the anticipation of seeing him and this young club progress has me excited.
    .

I am still disgusted with the other non baseball or off-field stuff….just tired of the depression that comes with it. My feelings haven’t changed, I just choose to ignore it and move on along. It’s time for me to focus more energy on supporting the Boy’s in Blue.
    .
    GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BRING THE RING!!!!!!!!!!!!
    .
    Have a great day everyone…….

I noticed that the Dodgers didn’t score in the first inning but I have only a rock & Roll station and a talk radio show.
    Is it only me.

Well at least I got the D’Backs, broadcast, that’s better than nothing.
    Dodger’s defense sounds sloppy.

Apparently the KABC Dodgers’ feed is down, even the Rock & Roll has stop coming in. Still listening to the D’Backs’ feed.

Glad to see it wasn’t just me that was locked out last night, D4life. Hopefully, Belisario will be joining the ball club very soon. He’ll have some catching up to do. Working out on your own is fine but it’s no substitute for actual game action. I wonder if management will take any disciplinary action because of his absence. I, too, share your frustrations with the off-the-field white noise. My opinions haven’t changed either but, at some point, you have to set it aside and just let it all take it’s course. It will be a lot easier now that the games have started. GO DODGERS!!!!!

Hi’Ya Bear and Beav!!! I couldn’t agree more. Makes me want to puke!!! At least Billz and DeWitt had nice outings today!!! I don’t think we should spend money on pitching when Frank and Jamie need more houses!!! :)))

Looks like we dodged the Giles bullet. Can we now get rid of the front end of Gagme and Maceme. Nice acquisitions Ned. Can hardly wait to see Anderson in action.

IMO McDonald has also pitched his way off the team, as has Elbert, except for Kuo’s elbow.

Agree with you on McDonald and Elbert too, E.
Can’t understand why the prospect rankings still always have Elbert so high.

I don’t see anything good coming out of the China trip either Bear.

Another of my fears is that one or the other of the Ortiz’s will keep pitching like they are now against crappy competition so that they make the team, then the chrome will come off their bumper against real MLers when it counts.

Hey Wally, didn’t see you up there. How are you my friend?

I see on the homepage that Anderson may play first base tomorrow. That oughta be fun.

Good Beav, thanks!! How about you? Hope all is well with you and yours. Yep, my friend, watching Ned mine for gold in a cesspool is always big fun. Geez!!!!
