Juan Pierre

Safe to say, this is one of the more interesting Juan Pierre features I’ve ever read. It comes from Joe Capozzi, who covers the Marlins for the Palm Beach Post.

And while I’m posting interesting articles, this one is long but very worth the read on a Sunday morning or Saturday evening. It’s about Dr. Mike Marshall, the former Dodger reliever.

Marshall always did have some innovative ideas and was one of the best relievers we ever had.
Doesn’t look like that motion will develop much speed on the fastball, though. Maybe a pitcher could rely on the off speed stuff and sneak a fastball by the batter often enough to keep ’em honest.

Juan Pierre = Most overrated player on Dodgers

OBP around .330 for his career just doesnt cut it. Massive lack of power and shoddy defense take away from any postivies his speed adds to his game. Also… Andruw Joens, Ichiro, and Torii Hunter… 3 big center fielders available next offseason. We will be stuck with the light hitting Pierre for 4 more years… yikes.
