From the press box…
The last post was brief, as we had quite a bit going on during pregame and I had to throw something up there quickly from Grady’s office. Though you’ve probably read Ken Gurnick’s notebook already, Kent doesn’t think his injury is that serious and the MRI didn’t show any structural damage. But, he thinks it’ll still be a few more days to a week and we couldn’t afford to play short-handed all week.
Also, as you have probably seen, Ramon Martinez was still too sore to start, so Aybar moved over to second, Saenz went to third base and the lineup shifted around.
Meanwhile, Joel Guzman is now here and he just appeared in the dugout. He’s wearing No. 50 and his fellow rookies are making this big league thing look easy. A three-run rifle down the left-field line by Matt Kemp for his first big league homer and a solo shot by Russell Martin a few minutes ago gave the Dodgers a 4-0 lead.
And it’s great to see so many people taking a shot at a chance to win four baseline seats by guessing the first three picks in the upcoming draft.
J.D. Drew just hit a three-run bomb…7-0. Let’s hope we don’t see Gagne on the field tonight.

Dodgers 7-0 bottom of the 5th. It’s great to be a Dodger fan right now. I really like the fact that the team’s new blood is doing so well. The Dodgers winning their division is likely…imagine what they’ll look like next year when the rookies come back after playing so many games in the majors this year. Imagine the possibilities!!!
here is another name to watch, behond the top 30 prospects. sergio pedroza, so far 12 homers 45 rbi. 275 ba.
a little low because of 52 strikeouts in 178 at bats.
a third rounder from last years draft, power worth watching. hoping guzman comes into the game tonight.
great show so far.
Josh, I’m surprised no one has mentioned that Nomar tied the Dodger record for most RBI in May with his 28, Eric Karros set the record in 2000.
Is tomorrow’s game sold out, would like to know sooner rather than later so I can play my trip to the Stadium to get my Penquin bobblehead.
