LET'S GO DODGERS, LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!
LET'S GO DODGERS, LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!
LET'S GO DODGERS, LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!

I like the look of that lineup. Thanks for giving me something to do other than drum my fingers nervously all afternoon.

Josh - Thanks for the lineup and the update on the atmosphere in the clubhouse.

GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've heard of the Boston Monkey.....
You've heard of the Philly Freeze.....

Well, we've got the Dodger Demolition going on tonight!!!!

Thanks, J. Geils Band, for the inspiration.

.....and, no, I haven't been at the Flask prematurely.

GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow Brady thrown 5 TD's in the 2nd quarter.

I guess the Patriots not going to put in there backup QB and run up the scoring again.

LOL Seesky!!!!

trubluewill - That is great you and Oldbrooklynfan got to meet up. It sounds like you had a great time.

Hi Gang,
Here we are at game three. I had a good time watching game one with Joe Pierre. We reminisced a lot on different moments from the Dodgers past. Game two I watched with some co-workers at a bar in Queens filled with Mets and Yankees fans. Everyone was rooting for the Dodgers. That will change if we make the World Series against the Yanks. Tonight I'll be home listening to the Dodgers radio broadcast on the Gameday Audio.
.
I know some people feel if we get one out of the next three in Phillie we'll be all right. But, I want to win tonight. I want the Dodgers to go up 2-1. That will put a lot of pressure on the Phillies going into Game four. Let's hope the offense can get going early tonight.

Yes Nelly we did. There was an old NY Giants fan there also. So we talked a lot of old Giants - Dodgers rivalry. It was a great baseball night. A Dodgers win would have made it better.

I'm wrong and he's 4 for 4.

Let's just see if the Raiders can hold this lead.

You just knew the Eagles going to scored a late TD's.

Wow they won.

Me too, Bluecrewgirl!

I'm glad the guys are loose because I'm nervous as hell. Seeksy, I need a nip from the flask to calm my nerves, lol! Go Dodgers!

oldbrooklynfan ~ I want them to win 2 here and take command of the series.

BEAT LEE...SEND A MESSAGE!!!!!!!!!

Trublu, we need a pregame flask pass. ):

lol Fake FG damn Jets

n/m was a botch played.

LOL!!!! Bluecrewgirl - Me too. I have had my Etheir jersey on since 7:30 this morning. I don't know about you, but with all the stories about Andre being tense during games, I finding it hard to believe he is relaxed right now :) ............but whatever he is doing seems to be working so I will just trust he is relaxed as Josh indicates.

I know Selig could had this game on Fox while that other game is not playing tonight.

I would tend to agree, Nelly, especially since he couldn't unwind after the the last game. I think he was shaking from a release of tension, but they need to be pumped like that. I think both he and Matt have said that they are always nervous before a game, which is good as long as it's not too the extreme.

Gosh Furcal is struggling not to mention Kemp Manny and Blake.

Damn Ethier k's.

I want a couple of win in Philly would be nice.

lol 8.3 qb rating on Sanchez. I would never thought Russell would have a better QB rating than Sanchez.

Howzit Going Everybody
Well we're in Philly, enemy territory.
We need to win a game here to bring it back to LA.
I think we will survive.
GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!

Exactly - you certainly don't want them too nervous. A mix of nervousness and relaxing I would think would be optimal, but I am not the one out on the field or standing in the batters box.

I hope you're right, oldbrooklyn fan. I have a good feeling.

Pregame flask pass granted.....A QUICK ROUND FOR ITD!!!!!! IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR DODGER BASEBALL!!!!!!

Thanks Seesky!!!!
Good Evening Oldbrooklynfan :)

LET'S GO DODGERS, LET'S GO!!!!!

Thanks, seesky. I feel better now ):

seesky ~ I have the Bushmills Single Malt at arms reach.
Hout about those Raiders?

Wow! The Bills squeaked it out in OT over the Jets.....In the Meadowlands!

Anyone else think Ethier wasn't placed right defensively on Fat Boys triple? No way that should have been a 3 bagger for a slow runner!!

Manny starts it off. Rally time!

Good evening everyone! Glad to be sitting back with a glass of Kool Aid and watching our boys in blue. Let's take back home field NOW!

Man, this ump is being stingy with the strike zone.

Get the hook Joe!

Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Not a good start for Kuroda.

Kuroda just doesn't have it tonight.

I hope Joe has a short leash on him tonight considering his recent health issues.

Mulligan, please!

Hope Elbert can stop the bleeding here.

Rough start for Kuroda, maybe he'll settle down.
Otherwise Bills might get some work.

The 2nd inning should be very interesting for Kuroda.

Elbert = WILD THING!

They can't stay with Kuroda to much longer or we won't have a chance in this game.

I don't know where this comment will come out but
now we shall see what Billingley has to offer.

Kuroda looked good on the last two outs of the 1st, but we'll see if he is settling down now.

Damn double play! It would of been nice to get a couple of runs back there.

Not an insurmountable lead, but they sure have their work cut out for them to pull this one out. Still plenty of time to get it done, if they can just get to Lee.

perumike ~ So much for Kuroda looking good on those last two outs.

This entire game is in danger of being a Mulligan!!

Where are the true Dodger fans,Its embarrassing To see on National television the seats are empty until the 7th inning. This is the post season get to the game fans.I'm watching the game now and the Philly fans are all there and they got to see 4 runs in the 1st in.Don't use the start times as an excuse,Philly start times in the div. series were early during the work week.So come on Dodger blue where's the support.

Oh, no, not another one!

Yep and both games are a sellout watch it there troll. n Sorry it was the start time that was just bad time.

I guess he has a brother! :)

Even without the empty sit we still have mroe people than your ****** steriod team you bunch of rudeless dick.

I'm really surprised he put in Elbert instead of Bills. Bills has playoff experience.

I would love to see Bills really shut them down and give them a chance to get back in it. I still have a lot of faith in his ability.

Sure hope Bills can take control of the pitching situation now. It'd be great to see him be the dominating guy that he can be.

I'd rather have Bills started game 3 and get bomb

We sure need Bills to come up big now. Let's get it back, a run or 2 at a time.

I'm having trouble with this "Redirect loop" early tonight with my comments, just like the Dodgers are having with the Phillies.
So now it's a BILLS game and we're spotted 6.

We sure need Bills to come up big now. Let's get it back, a run or 2 at a time.

Hey Philly fraud fan this is not Drew lol

I hope this team of ours relaxes, we're in fact the underdog here and I think us fans_regardless of the score_ should not forget our team is a championship team.

The Numbers will literally tell you anything you want them to, but you make your own luck.

Dodgers NLCS Game 3:
L 10/08/74 (2-0): PIT 7 - LAD 0........W 3-1
W 10/07/77 (1-1): LAD 6 - PHI 5......W 3-1
L 10/06/78 (2-0): PHI 9 - LAD 4........W 3-1
L 10/16/81 (1-1): LAD 1 - MON 4......W 3-2
L 10/07/83 (1-1): LAD 2 - PHI 7........L 3-1
L 10/12/85 (2-0): LAD 2 - STL 4........L 4-2
L 10/08/88 (1-1): LAD 4 - NYM 8.......W 4-3
W 10/12/08 (0-2): PHI 2 - LAD 7.......L 4-1
_ 10/18/09 (1-1): LAD _ - PHI _

But that was yesterday's news, and this is now. Not the first time Game 3 has given the Dodgers fits.

Bills brought his tourniquet to stop the bleeding. Good.

Cmon Blue I'm falling asleep

YES! Here we go

It's obvious after only a few batters that Bills has better stuff than Kuroda or Elbert did. They just need to calm down and score some runs. It's still early and they can pull this game out.

Wow.... looks like the time off really got to Kuroda...
Elbert got bit by nerves, I have followed him since early high school and have never seen him that wild. Billingsly is looking good, let's hope he can keep it up. GO DODGERS!!!

At least we finally got a 123 inning. As Joe Torre likes to say, take small bits get a run or two here and there and get back into it.

Good figure Manny is hot in this game and everyone not doing anything.

I heard the Philly fans booing when Andre was introduced, lol. I guess that's a compliment indirectly, lol

Vish turned your ******* beep tv off idiot. Your teaming is a freaking cheater or is that Phan under another name.

Are you able to watch this game tonight, TBW or are you watching gamesday?

Philly fans boo anyone, anything and everything. Even funeral processions.

City of brotherly love my a**!

Lee looks strong, but it's a good experience for the Dodgers to face him.

To me Billingsley is more important tonight than the game, at this time.

They do seem a little too happy that the Phils are winning, khali. I still believe in this team and I think they are fully capable of coming back and winning the series.

I heard that too bluecrewgirl. A compliment indeed :)

Got to listen to Vin describe the damage in the first. Now that I am home, I am watching the mayhem on TV. I have a feeling Billingsley will hold off any further runs. Now the Dodgers just have to get some rallies going and score a few runs. Keep the faith!

oldbrooklynfan ~ I'm watching gameday and listening to gameday audio. I'm glad I'm not watching on TV to painful so far. Tomorrow night I'll be back watching on TV at the diner.

oldbrooklynfan ~ I'm watching gameday and listening to gameday audio. I'm glad I'm not watching on TV to painful so far. Tomorrow night I'll be back watching on TV at the diner.

Urgh so much for Bills/

WTF gives? Ruiz just loves Dodger pitching I guess. They can't get him out.

We held Rollinz Utley Feliz and Werth ******* bandbox hitting park and damn 2 outs hits.

One game a season--or series--does not make. A rout is a rout. Better to have it happen against Lee. But it DOES make for crummy TV. I just wish the TBS boys would stop anointing the Phils. Like I said, it's one game. Time for Vinny to soothe my soul and put it all in perspective...

I noticed Feliz had a bandaid on the tip of his nose. Must have gotten careless digging out a booger, or something......
Another round on me!

Agreed nelly, the bootlicking is getting a little too much on TBS. I'll be flipping over to the Simpsons halloween episode. We played terribly against a very good pitcher, but we'll be back tomorrow, if not later in this game!

I gang, just got back from one of those"Redirect Loops"
so I have no idea where this will appear.

Utley and Jayson Werth(notes) are both 2 for 7 in their careers against Kuroda, but Howard, Rollins and Victorino are a combined 0 for 19.

Urgh seriously don't take numbers like that again mean absolute nothing when the guy been hurt all season long.

Well at least this Philly laffer is against a pitcher whose pitching an outstanding game, so it will be easy to forget.
But we have to get a win and I would think the sooner the better, I hope we get it before Tuesday.
It will be tougher on Tuesday, on the brink.
But who know?

I turned off TBS (they might as well be Phillies Phans), I am listening to Vin, watching Gameday on the computer and watching "Barefoot in the Park" on the television. I need to laugh and smile a bit since this game certainly isn't doing the trick. However, I am not giving up quite yet. We have done pretty wild things this season, and anything can still happen.

Hopefully that's all they see of Lee tonight. Much better chances against their bullpen.

Dang Manny gets 2 hits with no runner on and than he get one on an strikeout.

I hope we get a good start from Wolf tomorrow night. I think that's the game we have to win.
If we don't, it will get a little nerve wracking.

I guess it's been pretty obvious that Kuroda just didn't have it this game. I feel bad for him, he's been through a lot this year, with injuries and then getting hit in the head. He's pitched some pretty good games for us. Hopefully the Dodgers can just write this one off and comeback tomorrow and win.

I think they have an excellent chance to beat Blanton tomorrow. They have a team batting average of .295 against him and I think Wolf will be tough against their lefties.

Wish we could just forfeit the game....

Remember in 2004 the Yankees beat the Red Sox 19 to 8 in game 3 of the ALCS and then the Red Sox went on to win 4 in a row. Hopefully something like that can happen to the Dodgers

I sure hope Opie - I mean Wolfie has it working tomorrow.

Does anyone think the Phillies are the new "Big Red Machine"?
That's O.K. we use to beat the old one sometimes.

Hopefully, Aunt Bea will give him some apple pie and a glass of milk and he'll get a good night's sleep and by ready to go tomorrow ):

Remember in 2004 the Yankees beat the Red Sox 19 to 8 in game 3 of the ALCS and then the Red Sox went on to win 4 in a row. Hopefully something like that can happen to the Dodgers

Far from it OBF. The old Big Red Machine would go through this Phillies team like s**t through a goose.

I don't think any team would be able to beat Cliff Lee the way he's pitching tonight.
I'm glad to get him out of the way.

I say Phucki the Phillies

Goodnight everyone. Tomorrow is another day.

The way this ump is calling the pitches looking at the pitch tracker on the gameday makes me think he may be getting paid twice.......it stinks!

Well, it's only one game. If Wolf pitches reasonably well, we should be able to get this series even against Blanton tomorrow night. No doubt, tomorrow's game is a must win. Just get through this one and save the pen as much as possible. GO BLUE!!!!

I thought the TBS announcers almost gave them the World Series without facing the American League team! SHEESH! Not objective in the least - blech!!!
.
Glad to get the bad vibes over and done - tomorrow's another day and we'll be back to do business.
.
GO DODGERS!!!

Good night all!

This is a beating but, just think, it only counts as one win for the Phillies.

WE STILL HAVE TWO MORE CHANCES.

That's a good way to look at it Oldbrooklynfan.

Good Night vl4!!!! Good job to your Raiders today.

OBF ~ it is just one win for the Phillies. But, with the TBS announcers, you'd think they already won the title!

They should've let Loretta pitch lol.

I didn't have any problem with the way Ron Darling, Chip Carey and Buck Martinez called the game.
They just called it the way the saw it.
Kuroda didn't have anything and Lee had everything.
Let's just hope we win tomorrow.

Good evening ITD boys and girls!
Okay, okay. That game was atrocious. But good thing is this: No matter whether we lost the game 1 – 0 or 11 – 0, it still counts as just one loss. We are only down by 1 game in the series; nothing insurmountable by any stretch of the imagination. Wolfy just better be on his A game tomorrow (not the pitching performance of game 1) and the Dodger hitters better wake up; and soon.

But you know what my biggest beef is? The Dodgers’ homepage. Specifically, the picture gallery. Tell me, why are there so many pictures of Philly phans and Philly players on the DODGERS’ homepage???

Oh, and yeah. I can’t stand the TBS announcers. I just hope some future postseason that MLBN will be able to televise postseason games. I honestly don’t know who’s worse – TBS announcers or FOX? I was watching the Angel game yesterday, and it only served to remind me how much I can’t stand Tim McCarver…

Just got home from that spanking and Dodger fans should take note of how a fanbase can make a difference. That place was packed a half hour before game time and the phans were stoked. There is no question in my mind that the phans played a part in that start. Kuroda was shell-shocked.

Lesson: Get to the freakin' game on time and get involved.

WE LOVE OUR DODGERS, YES WE DO
WE LOVE OUR DODGERS, THE WHOLE YEAR THRU

I thought maybe they needed some cheering up. Even in their not so good days, we still love our Dodgers. Yes, we want them to win it all. I know they want to win it all, and anything short of that is going to be a failure to them. The Ring is still very much within reach, but I just wanted them to know we are still behind them, win or lose. They are our Dodgers and nothing is going to change how we feel about them. ~DODGER BLUE THRU AND THRU~

Phan, shut up. The phans didn’t make the difference – Cliff Lee made the difference. Stop deluding yourself.

Hey CP!!!!! How is life? Tomorrow's another game, and until the game is played anything is possible and nothing is impossible when it comes to this team and this game.

dallas_dodgergirl - thanks!!! I was just trying to keep tonight's game in perspective.

submission error hell once again :((((

My Nellygirl!!! YES, WE DO LOVE OUR DODGERS!!!

I like what you said about the whole year thru, nellyjune. No fairweather fans here!

The phans made a huge difference against Kuroda. It was a classic meltdown.
Cliff Lee didn't put up a crooked number in the first two innings, the Phillies offense did. But he definitely took advantage. He's a for-real stud ace.

My Nellygirl!
Life is fine – still doing my studies. But I can see light at the end of the tunnel! But once my studies are done, THEN comes the hard part. I’ve gotta look at EVERYTHING it takes to (possibly) start my own business. And I know it won’t be cheap. But I’m going to look into it, discuss & pray about it with my husband and, well, we’ll see! Yes, tomorrow is another game, and nothing is impossible with this team!!! And while you’ve been in submission error hell, I still have the “Redirect loop” problems that OBF was having! This is annoying as heck. But hopefully it’ll get better over time…

Oh, and dallas_dodgergirl, you seem new to ITD! If so, welcome!

Well, sounds like you are well on your way CP. I will be praying for you as well. I have been redirected a few times, so I know what you mean there too. Then there is the time warping issue as well, which I will take over the submission errors. At least when you are stuck in a time warp, you can still post. The submission error locks you out for a undetermined amount of time.

Your bandbox stadium help you again. You isn't nothing on the road.

Greetings, ITD!

Bummer of a game today, but I'm glad it's only one game. 1 - 0 or 11 - 0, it's only one game. Let's hope Wolf has it tomorrow and we break out the sticks against Blanton. He's nothing special, that's for sure.

Thx for the prayers Nelly! I know I can ALWAYS count on you!!! You’re right, the time warping issue is annoying, but I’ve had both the submission errors AND the redirect loops. I don’t know why the different names, but they both have the same effects – they both lock you out from posting.

So how are you? How’s the Academy? Have your gnat family members behaved during the postseason?

Hey Eric! Long time, no talk! Yeah, it was just one game. We’ll bounce back tomorrow! So how are you?

Hey Ward Dear!!!! How is your mom doing? :))) I heard you were over there for dinner tonight. Good win for Jimmie last night. I need 7 points from Rivers tomorrow night to actually win a week for my fantasy team. I have only won one week so far. It should be an interesting game tomorrow night in your house with Matthew being a Broncos fan. Hopefully, there are no bad calls like last time.

CP ~ The Academy is going well. I am doing well................parent/teacher conferences next week, which at least we have minimum days. My student teacher is taking over more and more these days, so I am trying to keep myself busy outside of the classroom............mostly paperwork. As far as my gnat family and their behavior.................ummmm, not so good, but I don't think I would be acting any different if the tables were turned. I actually think I strongly dislike the Phillies more than the Giants. Their fans are actually nicer. You certainly don't see any gnat fans on here trash talking the rival fan base when we are playing them.

Doing well enough, cp! Well enough! Best of luck on your continuing ventures. Times are tough, aren't they?

The boys have certainly shown through the course of the year that they have what it takes to come back. Time will tell, and we'll know for sure soon enough!

I'm almost afraid to ask about 'redirect loops'. I haven't had the pleasure yet.

Nelly – I think I know (or at least imagine) what you’re talking about Gnat fans & Phillie fans. As much as Dodger and Giant fans don’t like each other, at least one party or the other doesn’t go onto a rival blog and trash talk the other’s fan base like a certain so-and-so likes to do here…

And Eric, just hope that you don’t get any redirect loops. And they’re NO pleasure! Like I mentioned to Nelly earlier, they’re not much different than Submission Errors. In other words, it keeps you from posting. And yes, times are tough, but I FINALLY decided to “take the bull by the horns” and try and better myself. I’ve mentioned here on ITD before, but we haven’t talked in a while, so I’ll repeat myself. I’m taking a DVD, at-home course on starting my own accounting and bookkeeping freelance service. And if you already knew that, sorry for repeating myself! And yes, our boys certainly have the wherewithal to come back after a loss like tonight. Like I said before, we’re only down by one game. That is not a series deficit that is insurmountable. One win in Philly, and we take home field advantage right back from them!

Well, I’m starting to get tired. I’ll catch up with you two later. G’nite Nelly!!! G’nite Eric!!!

Oh, and just in case I can’t get back tomorrow…

GO DODGERS!!!
GO WOLFY!!!

Hiya Junie! Yeah, as I'm sure you know, we usually have her over here on Sunday so we thought we'd change it up and go over there. She's doing pretty good, thanks for asking. The game didn't make her feel any better, but so be it.

That 48 crew is pretty amazing all right. The comparison between Jimmie's Saturday and the Dodger's Sunday shows that it's easy to be a fan when things go well. The real fans stick around and take their lumps during the hard times. That's what makes the good times better than those closet fans.

I'm glad you mentioned the fact that (as far as I know) we've never seen a trash-talking Giant or Padre or Rockie or Angel or any other fan of another team here. Just from the City of Brotherly Love. Too bad.

Dodgereric - I am glad to hear/read your mom is doing well. I don't think the game made any of us feel exceptionally well, but like many have said tonight, it's one game, and that is all it was for now anyway. ITD, considering the game, were pretty mellow.........disappointed I am sure, but not overly upset as we sometimes get.

I know what you mean about being a fan during the down times. I got home from "Where the Wild Things Are", and was crushed when I found out Denny was once again, out of the race. I have to admit, Eric, it's hard to totally cheer Jimmie on when the rest of us are trying to catch up, which now Denny won't be able to do. Like when Andre first became a Dodger, I have been reading everything I can about Denny, and he is a very interesting young man. Plus, he has a facebook fan page where he actually makes posts throughout the day, including on his race days. He has a great sense of humor, but takes his losses really, really hard.................sounds alot like Andre.

Nope.................no other rival fans trash talk on our blog. Sad indeed.

G'night cp!

LOL! Don't feel bad about being "hard to cheer Jimmie on". When he gets a DNF, I'm not happy about much of anything.

Funny, as much as I read to the kids when they were little, I'd never heard of "Where the Wild Things Are". I met Chris and Matt for dinner after they saw it and they were both very affected by it.

Oh yes, I heard, and I cried too :)) However, James Gandolfini's voice is sooooooooo distinctive. It was hard to disconnect his voice to Tony Soprano.

Well, I do wish for a few to have a DNF, but Jimmie is never one of them. If Jimmie were to fall off, which isn't going to happen I know................, but if he should, I would like to see Mark Martin take it out of the ones up there trying to knock him off his throne.

Oh, don't EVER wish for anyone to have a DNF. That's a sure way for your favorite to get one. I know! LOL!! And yeah, if anyone but Johnson wins this championship, I hope it's Mark. There won't be a dry eye anywhere. And I'll bet there would be a scene reminiscent of when Dale Earnhardt Sr finally won Daytona. That was really something.

Okay - I will never wish for a DNF - LOL!!!................maybe just to fall back out of the top 15. Is that better? I am not a Montoya fan too much so when I found out he and Denny were both out, it made me a little happier knowing he wasn't up there with Jimmie. I am not exactly a Carl Edwards fan either. It's not that I don't like them. I just prefer others to win over them. I agree about Martin. Even to finish 2nd behind Jimmie may have the same result...................no dry eyes.

One thing I would like to say about Philadelphia sports fans: they are the most miserable people ever. They boo their own players, and not just when they suck (like we did with Andruw Jones). They boo Donovan McNabb. They booed Mike Schmidt. It seems that unless you fit the Philly mode (whatever that is), they will boo you regardless. Heck, they even booed Santa Claus! Philly people just have a chip on their shoulder. I've heard a radio guy say this: New York is the financial capital of the world, Boston is the educational capital of the world, and Washington is the political capital of the world. Philadelphia..... has Pat's and Geno's.... They're like the ugly stepsister in the East Coast. Maybe that explains all the angst.

It is really sad that the families of the visiting team feel they have to dress incognito because they aren't sure how the fans are going to react to them. Once again, this doesn't happen at AT&T Park.

..................................................
"This is my first time in Philly, so I dressed incognito," said Maggie Ethier, the wife of Dodgers right fielder Andre Ethier.
With a game-time temperature of 46 degrees and a wind chill of 41 degrees, Maggie Ethier was dressed in a gray wool jacket with matching hat and gloves.
"I heard about the fans here," she said with a smile, "and I didn't want to draw any attention to myself."

The article I posted it does mention some family members who didn't have a problem. I guess those who attempt to go to a Raider game in non-Raider colors are living on the edge as well.

Yep...they were loose alright...

Outside the Phillies Looking In
http://devilabrit.mlblogs.com

Good Morning ITDland ~ Tough game last night. But, as we always do, we will bounce back. GO DODGERS!!!!! BEAT THE FILLIES!!!!!!

TRU - Dodgers played last night???? LOL They will bounce back. I am thinking both Angels & Dodgers are going to have to start a winter training boot camp in the snow. Just for incase this happens again they don't get killed they way both teams did.
*
LET'S GOOOOOO DODGERS!

LOL, Rose! It sure didn't look like OUR DODGERS last night!!

Just stick with the stereotypes, nelly. The province of the uneducated.
Dodgers fans had no problems at the game last night. There were 3 or 4 (we suspect one guy was in denial) in our section last night and all that happened was some friendly taunting. One Philly phan wanted to get ugly and the rest of us shut him down. The Dodgers fans had as good a time as could be had in a blowout loss. Unlike some Philly kids from my daughter's school in LA who had beer bottles thrown at them outside Dodger Stadium last Thursday.

11-0 is the same as 1-0.
.
I will try to make this short...
.
I think tonight we'll come out on top.
.
The last week of the season I was in OC and didn't watch any of the games other than a few spotty innings, because they were back east & game times were when we would be going out for dinner. Wifey & I were on vaca so sitting at the hotel watching the game wasn't going to happen. I got home and the 1st game I watched was the clincher vs the Rockies.
.
I watched the 1st 3 against the Cardinals and they swept.
.
I missed the 1st game vs the Phillies due to work & they lost.
.
Watched the 2nd & we got a win.
.
Was going to dinner @ a friends house last night & my 1 request was we watch the game.
.
Well after leaving work a little late (In the 3rd inning) I had a blow out on the way home.
.
I noticed my other front tire was really like my own dome (BALD!!!) so I drove straight to the tire place which of course was closed. But left my car overnight & Wifey picked me up & we proceeded to dinner at my friends.
.
We got there in the 9th inning so we didn't watch.
.
Well I'm leaving work @ 4:00 to pick up my car & should be home in time to watch the start of the game!
.
So I know I'm not playing but I'm very superstitious.
.
That & this year whenever they have really needed a game, they got it.
.
So Go Blue!!
.
Bring the Ring to LA in 2009!!!

It will be a Yankees/Dodgers Series! I wanted Angels/Dodgers but it will be Yankees/Dodgers!

Good morning ITDers
Is a brand new day today!
.
Carol,
High Five! Well said to Phan52!
.
Let's get them tonight!
LEt'S GO DODGERS!

Interesting to read all the media "what if we had gotten Lee" comments after last night's game. Yes, it's always been evident that other GMs can make a deal for a lot less than Ned. There's also the issue of money. I think you'll all note that since the middle of last season our acquisitions have come very cheaply on the salary scale. Even Lee carried a forward salary commitment that Frank probably was unwilling to take on. Don't you think that the Frank/Jamie breakup had something to do with that? You don't get to a separation and potential divorce overnight; you have to be working on it for some time. Unfortunately we've not even begun to see the implications of what this split will bring to the franchise. All I'm hoping is that they have to sell the team QUICKLY and get it over with before we lose all the young talent that we've been building on.

In the meantime, let's bounce back and even the series tonight. In fact, I think we need to take the next three games, so that we're not faced by Lee again in game 7.

Tonight is NOT a must-win game...but it sure as hell is a "would-make-things-a-whole-lot-easier-down-the-line" game. I can't even ponder game 7. One at a time...like pitches. Agree, the media likes to throw Lee in Ned's face, Plaschke even bringing up Hershiser as the real hero of 1988 (which he was). The difference, of course, being Hershiser was home-grown, not imported. The Dodgers will have their day in the sun, and perhaps Kershaw will be that home-grown ace leading them. But World Championships are fleeting. The euphoria lasts...what, a day? If someone wants to have their picture taken with the Word Series trophy, I'd prefer it be a player who's earned it. As for me, the game of baseball is the real fun. Losing 11-0 means nothing but one game. There is no momentum loss or gain at play, here. Let's continue to enjoy the 2009 ride. This thing is FAR from over.

To be honest Lee did good last night but I doubt he will get lucky again.

Good morning ITD,Dodger faithful and Our Beloved Boy's in Blue..................
.
Khali I have to agree with the fact that it isn't do or die tonight. I also think Hershiser was a Big Factor in 88. We don't have Lee, or Halliday, thats just the way the cookie crumbled this year. We do have Wolf and I have said all year, that him and the Boy's in Blue are Winners, I am not reverting course now!!!!!!!!!!! I also agree that it is the entire baseball season that is the enjoyment, however those rings last a lifetime, and haveing one would bring plenty of enjoyment for years to come. Go out and earn one gentlemen
.
GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!
BRING THE RING TO L.A. IN 2009!!!!!
.
Enjoy your Monday and enjoy the game everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

NY Yankees 4:13
LA Angels PM ET

LA Dodgers 8:07
Philadelphia PM ET

Prefect reason why both games should be on Fox. I bet Angels Stadium would not be sellout and no one would not complaint at all about the empty seat.

One at a time. Just one at a time. All we have to do to get into the Series is:

1 - SOMEBODY get a big hit to spark the offense and

2 - Win all the games that Lee doesn't start.

Simple.

Oh, and I loved your post, bear. News of the McCourt's divorce kind of tied up any questions that we had of why no money was ever spent on those trades. It makes perfect sense.

It's not really a matter of the Dodgers not hitting...they certainly ARE hitting--anybody not named Martinez or Lee, two Cy Young award winners. Look for them to hit Blanton.

Congratulations to Rick Monday on the 28th aniversary of his famous homerun in Montreal! I
still remember watching Monday round the bases as he jumped up and down. T
Thank you Carol for reminding me of the NLCS series in 1981!
