Vin Scully on Opening Day
When ESPN announced that it would pick up Opening Day against the Giants, some people wondered if this meant that Vin Scully would miss his first home opener since the team came to Los Angeles.
Worry no more. Vin is on board to play a role in the KABC radio broadcast on March 31 and will be in the house. Exact details of what innings he’ll call and any other role he might play in the ceremonies have yet to be determined, but rest assured, he has every intention of being here. And we’re planning a memorable ceremony that we truly hope our fans will enjoy.
For what it’s worth, when we mentioned the idea to Rick Monday and Charley Steiner, both were fully on board. As Rick put it, “It wouldn’t be Opening Day without Vin Scully.”
We couldn’t agree more.

Awesome. No one will ever come close to being as good as Vin Scully.
I’ll make a post about this in my blog soon, but I wanted to let everyone know that a group of season ticket holders in the left field pavilion will be dressing up for Opening Day, wearing suits and ties, and I’d love for that to spread around the stadium. Opening Day should be a classy event, especially now that we know Vinny will be there! The Dodgers can’t do enough tributes to Scully this year.

I ran into my friend Erik at Union Stadium yesterday and first I asked him if he still will like me to get him a tix for Opening Day. He said yes so the next question was “should we wear our outfits again this year?” He said sure! so again, we will be dressed as the Brooklyn Bum and Hilda Chester. Erik looked great as the bum but I want to improve on my outfit.

Looking forward to see the group dressed up in the LF pav. I know a few fans from the LF pav. Is nice that you will get dressed up but I also like seeing the sea of Dodger Blue!

All the time when I arrive early for BP. Afterwards I can’t see him from where I sit the majority of times but sometimes we can see him leaving and he’ll acknowlege our greeting like in here

Is no trouble at all. I always end up with extras. Sometimes they go ahead and give you the mag schedule at a preseason game even though is not on the schedule as a promo. Last year I ended up with a few team calendars and I posted it on FB that the first few people that responded and wanted a calendar to let me know so I mailed those to four different fans.
