Saluting Mr. Robinson

#42.

It will be everywhere tonight, so let’s all remember why. The word “legend” gets thrown around a lot, but few truly embody that term like Jack Roosevelt Robinson.

Among those wearing #42 tonight will be this lineup:

Furcal, SS

Kemp, CF

Ethier, RF

Manny, LF

Loney, 1B

Blake, 3B

Martin, C

Carroll, 2B

Kuroda, P

I have so much admiration and respect for #42. Jackie was truly a man among boys. I am so prroud that he is honored on this special day.
    .
Now, let’s get down to business and win this game!
    .
    GO DODGERS!!!!!!

    Happy Jackie Robinson Day!

  3. oldbrooklynfan

    Hi Everybody
Yes they are celebrating Jackie Robinson Day today, all over the baseball world but never forget this great man played for this very team team we will all be rooting for tonight.
    GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. northstateblues

According to the Twitter feed running during the At-Bat app, Dodger fans booed Frank McCourt during the festivities today.

While I can’t fault the feeling, I wish they had chosen a different occasion to voice their displeasure. Jackie Robinson and what we’re celebrating is bigger than Frank McCourt. With the baseball world watching Jackie’s team tonight, silence would’ve been much more golden. There’s 78 more home games, you know 😉

Wait you mean this isn’t spring training anymore?
    .
Pitching and defense wins championships & we are lacking in both areas. Raffy should of swallowed the throw & the run wouldn’t of scored.

  6. colliethec

I will say that I love what Jackie Robinson did for baseball & this country. I hope to see others in my lifetime that can stand up and make a difference. Thank you Jackie.

  7. colliethec

I forgot pitching, defense and timely hitting. We lack in all 3. Runners and 2nd & 3rd & no outs & they can’t score. 2 K’s — really futile.

  8. robertelee@yahoo.com

We look like s***. Way to get those runs back. Giants coming in and we’ll lose 2 of 3 to them. Not won a series as yet.

Good Evening ITD Readers and Writers!!! Happy Jackie Robinson Day!!

YOU KNOW ALL I WANTED TO DO IS COME ON HERE AND WISH EVERYBODY HAPPY JACKIE ROBINSON DAY, AND I HAVEN’T POSTED IN THE LAST DAY AND A HALF. SO, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO GET A SUBMISSION ERROR FOR MAKING TOO MANY COMMENTS IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME WHEN I HAVEN’T POSTED IN A DAY AND A HALF!!!??? CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE FIX THIS FRICKIN’ THING!! THIS BLOG IS WORKING AS GOOD AS OUR PITCHING……………..THEY BOTH KIND OF SUCK RIGHT NOW!!!!

  10. gibbie23

ARGH!!! So sick or errors and misplayed balls! We are losing tonight because of bad defense not necessarily bad pitching.

  11. oldbrooklynfan

Nelly, I’ve been having better success getting my comments through by keeping ITD down while I’m watching the game.

  12. nellyjune

Oldbrooklynfan – I just logged in before trying to post. My computer hadn’t even been on all day, and ITD is the first place I log onto most of the time.

I was watching the ceremony, and while there were a couple of boos, that’s all there really was. I was thinking the same thing as you wrote as it was happening. But you basically got your moment of silence, north.

    C’mon JAMES!

  14. dodgereric

OK, eventually I’ll get this into the Warp and it can be read.

  16. 32and53fan

Nelly, OBF and others – why put up with this crappy site? We could all just go over to http://www.truebluela.com/2010/4/15/1424368/jackie-robinson-night-game-chat
and enjoy a nice chat site where the time is always right and the new messages appear automatically. No having to refresh and then scroll down to see if there is anything new.
According to Josh, this site was not designed to be used for real time chatting, just to respond to his commercials for the team.

  17. oldbrooklynfan

I keep ITD off and only go back on to make a comment and then come off again, until I’m ready to make another one.

  18. 32and53fan

Last night, it was taking forever for the comments to go through. I had to click Submit a couple of times since I was not sure if it took it the first time.
The only problem with the True Blue LA site is that it takes 24 hours after you sign up until you are allow to post a comment.

  19. nellyjune

…….but we used to post thousands of comments before they tried to make it better only for it to get worse. I read TrueblueLA all the time as well as Dodger Thoughts, but I have always thought of ITD as home, as far as blogging is concerned.

  20. nellyjune

Vinny is talking about our bullpen being spent. This is not the time for the bullpen to be spent with the Gnats coming to town (which have one of the best pitching staffs in the league IMO).

  21. 32and53fan

You are right Nelly. This site was a heck of a lot faster last year. I don’t remember the times being so out of whack either. This ITD site IS a nice community with a lot of nice folks and the pace of comments here is more like baseball… We are not overwhelmed by the sheer number of posts flying by like on DT or TBLA.

  22. dodgereric

Interesting, that one went right between 32 and OBF. Hmmm….

Hey tru, now I want you to ask how many runs “Wild Thing” Sherrill will give up. OK?

    Yea ANDRE!!!!

  23. koufax1963

now this game I hope is a turning point, didn’t give up, and fought the good fight. With Dre’s finish its like last year. Get ready for the gnats

  24. lbirken@aol.com

Vinny just said it but I have to say it too: a lot of pitches in the dirt these days that get by the catcher.

  25. lbirken@aol.com

Walk off number one for Andre this season. Thanks to the D’backs for the chance to win this game and thanks to Andre for ending it so I can go to bed. Good night all.

  26. dodgereric

Hey! I’m back in the Warp! FINALLY! LOL! That’s the longest time that I’ve posted in real time in a long time!

  27. colliethec

And that ladies & gentleman is why we call him Every Day Dre!!!
    .
Nice win and don’t worry Wifey didn’t “Bump The Chandelier”!

  28. dodgereric

OK, now that I’m 52 minutes ahead like everyone else, maybe someone will read this:

  30. nellyjune

Dodgereric – It seems like you have had the best of all the ITD time issues – LMAO!!!! Add a double post to your list!!!

  31. dodgereric

I can’t quite figure out if I’m coming or going now. First I’m having a great time in real time with everyone’s posts, then I finally make it into the Warp only to get Submissioned, and then it enters my post regardless! LMAO!!

OK, now that I’ve responded to north’s lament up at the top, let me get this off my chest.

I guess McCourt has suckered everyone he could sucker with the Yankee tickets and sold all of the 14-game plans that he could. Because now they’re advertising a “New 7-game Plan” that will allow you to see the Bombers in LA. Once more, for shame. You really don’t have a soul, do you McCourt? Imagine how you’d feel if you’d bitten the bullet and succummed to buying tickets to 14 games only to see this.

  32. nellyjune

I am kind of tired of seeing those commercials Dodgereric. So, if you are a Dodger fan who does not even live in California, then you have no chance of seeing a Yankee/Dodger game unless you buy a package. And let’s say you do live in California and buy a package and get tickets, and then at some point they open it up for single tickets, wouldn’t you be a little pisssed that you were forced to buy a package in order to buy a Yankee/Dodger ticket only to see them open up a month later to anyone else. Both scenarios kind of suck!!! Also, what if you are a Yankee fan? How does it work for them?

  33. nedajerk

Geez how did I ended up on the wrong thread? Let’s me repeat that again. I’m going to say this again shift both of those Ortiz to Japan

  34. dodgereric

I planned to make a few Inland Empire 66er games this year. I noticed that Kyle Russell, Aaron Miller and Ethan Martin are there and I’d like to see them play locally. But I’d better hurry because Russell is hitting well and might be off to AA – Chattanooga soon.

Russell’s hitting .394 .459 .667 1.126 with 2 HRs and 8 RBIs in 8 games so far. Miller and Martin have also both started out well.

  35. nellyjune

That sounds kind of fun!! You will definitely get your money’s worth I would imagine. You are saying that as I am filling out bookmarks for my students to get tickets to see the Grizzlies play. Too bad we didn’t have a Dodger franchise closer.

  36. dodgereric

shad, I’m thinking that you’re going to get at least one of your wishes soon. I saw on the IE’s site that Kuo went 5 innings for them tonight. If he can go 5 without pain, he shouldn’t be too far away.

Junie, all minor league ball is cool. It’s just cooler to watch them come up when they’re in your system……. at least until July when Ned trades them for a 2-month rental on some washed up vet.

  37. dodgereric

I gotta get to bed. I’m on 2 hours of sleep last night and could stand to catch up a little.

Good night and God Bless to all of my ITD buddies!

  38. nellyjune

LOL!!! very true. You know in tonight’s game and even last night’s game, I was hoping Reed Johnson would have hit the walk-off. He had that opportunity on both nights. Vinny had mentioned last night that he lives in Temecula.

  39. northstateblues

Eric, that’s good to hear, the way the guy made it sound on Twitter, it could’ve been Andruw Jones all over again.

I thought the same thing about the new 7-game plan for Yankees tickets deal. “’tis but a flesh wound… come on then…”.

I hate to rag on ownership all the time, but $5 for 12 oz (or even 20 oz) of water is too much… after seeing that a couple of weeks ago, I wondered if he went and ripped out all the water fountains. If they even sold them for $2.50, I’d bet they’d sell 3 bottles of water for $7.50 to someone who wouldn’t buy one for $5. And to see my cousin paid $11 for a little cup of beer when $12 got you a large beer last season (and $9.99 will at least get you a 12 pack at any store in California).

And then he wants to add a bike race to the L.A. Marathon… but won’t add a pitcher to the Dodgers.

This didn’t make sense to me… until I saw McCourt’s big picture. I’ll get that in a minute, granted I’m not Submissioned out. Just wanted to say hi to everyone after that killer win-that-shouldn’t-have-been-a-win, a night after that loss-that-shouldn’t-have-been-a-loss.

  40. northstateblues

    Here’s McCourt’s big picture, courtesy of DodgerDivorce.com :

    http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BGczpgptZJk/S4A9z4XGAqI/AAAAAAAAAAY/LqreOf7X3lI/s1600-h/Flowchart.jpg

When we think the Los Angeles Dodgers aren’t the McCourts’ number one priority, we’re not just being paranoid. The Dodgers are lucky if they’re #5 on that chart.

And all my paranoia about McCourt potentially keeping the 300 acres of L.A. after selling the team is plausable, seeing as the “RealCo Holding” of Dodger Stadium land is seperate from the “TeamCo Holding” that the Ballclub falls under.

Maybe we can make flowcharts showing the McCourts where they lie as priorities to us as Dodger Fans. Just a thought.

  41. nellyjune

$5 for a bottle of water. I am guessing you don’t get a scented towel with it either. Note to self – bring my own water 🙂

  42. nellyjune

Well, doesn’t that make us feel important to the whole scheme of things. Nothing like being pretty much at the bottom of a flow chart to make your players feel like they are important.

  43. nellyjune

One more post before I go to bed…..

6 out of our 8 position players are batting over .300. That is something to stay postive about. On a similar note, JP’s batting average is climbing. It’s up to a significant .194 :)))

Good Night ITD!! You are the best!! My first of many dreaded series is this weekend. Wish me luck as we not only battle our rival Gnats, but it’s a battle with rival family members too :))

  47. thinkingblue

GOOD MORNING ITD….what a wonderful game with a HAPPY ENDING.
    *
DRE’ the GREAT did it again. KEEP DOING IT!
    *
KEMP Mr. HR. A homerun per day…I can live with that…so KEEP DOING IT or whatever Rhiana is doing KEEP DOING IT :0)

  48. thinkingblue

WOW SELLTHETM….I have been noticing toooooo many errors all around, NOT just the Dodgers. But GREAT that their batting avg. is great. PITCHING…well we need a miracle there. We have pitchers with great hearts and love to give runs away, and give games away. Didn’t the Dodgers received an award for being so Charitable…LOL
    *
We have a tough series….C’MON DODGERS be smart when playing the freaken GAG-ints! This is where our hitters really need to think about when to swing their bats!

  49. nedajerk

Eric did he really goes 5th are is a typo? Some people on TBLA think it’s a typo. I even check for myself and his stats got credited with 5th innings and a win.

  50. colliethec

Shad – thanks for researching all those stats!
    .
They are very telling! That is what is so frustrating with the last 2 offseasons. The moves to become better just didn’t happen. I was and am ok with the banch moves but I felt& still feel that we needed a top starter to be the leader for the young staff.
    .
The good news is the bully will hopefully be improved when we get Kuo & Belly back. Then we can be rid of the Otiz brothers.
    .
But I think expecting Bills or Kersh to be the #1 is a bit to much for them at this point in their young careers.
    .
Nelly – good luck this weekend with the family & friends. I have low expectations so I’m hoping that it’ll make things less painfull. But I know I’ll be getting it everyday at work.

  51. selltheteam

Eric – Great job with the time warp last time. You are way too funny. That was an alltime ITDFST classic!

  52. nellyjune

Collie ~ I wish you the best this weekend too. I see my fair share of gnat fnas, but you actually live in the Bay Area and just by location see alot more gnat fans. The funny thing is I have been saying all off-season around the house that our pitching isn’t going to get it done. The difference between Dodger fans and Gnat fans, we can admit when are team isn’t doing so great. The Gnat fans (most) will still insist their team is better than yours even if they are dead last in the standings. Funny – I got to school this morning, hanging out in the office, and one of our custodians (the Gnat fan) comes in and says…….”So, how did you do it last night? I thought for sure you lost that game and I went to bed” I replied ………..”Andre Ethier of course!! ” Last night proved how much of a threat Matt, Andre and Manny really are in the lineup. As an opposing manager, that would have been a really hard choice to make……..which of the three you think we be the next to ruin your day.

  53. dodgereric

shad, last night’s boxscore showing Kuo with 5 innings was a typo. Here’s the real one:

    Inland Empire
Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
    Kuo 1.0 0 0 0 0 2 0 0.00
    Martin, E (W, 2-0) 4.0 3 3 1 2 4 0 1.00
    Mann 1.0 2 1 1 2 2 0 6.00
    Jansen 2.0 2 0 0 0 2 0 0.00
    Sanfler 1.0 0 0 0 0 1 0 11.25

Last night’s didn’t have Ethan Martin in there at all. It just had Kuo starting, going 5 and getting the win. I gotta admit it looked weird, why in God’s name would you have a guy like Kuo going 5? But that’s the only reason I brought it up in the first place. Anyway, both he and Martin look pretty good. We might see Martin making the jump to AA pretty quick with stats like that. It’s good to see a #1 pick progress quickly.

  54. selltheteam

Hey, Nelly! Good to be back. I’ve been reading all along, just haven’t had much to say that wasn’t already being said. One thing does bear repeating – we need more pitching.
    .
On another note: A belated happy sixtieth anniversary to Tommy and Jo Lasorda!

  55. nellyjune

I don’t think “we need more pitching” can be repeated enough. We have been saying it for two seasons now (including Torre), and we haven’t really got what we were hoping for.

  56. selltheteam

Not that this needs being said, but just as a clarification – We don’t need more pitchers. We don’t need more Miltons, Bombkos and Ortizii. We need more pitchers that can get the job done.
    .
My assessment of the rest so far:
    .
Kershaw – I can be patient with him, he’ll be fine.
Billingsley – I don’t know where his head is at, neither does he.
Padilla – Not so sure if he’ll last past July 31.
Haeger – An interesting surprise – let him keep going.
    .
    Troncoso – doing just fine.
    Weaver – not terrible.
The rest of the ‘pen – terrible.

  57. nellyjune

LOL!!! That is a very good point Crash!! I would like to add Brox to the good side. He has done more than his share, especially in situations they shouldn’t have had to use him.

  58. selltheteam

Nelly – I agree. My comment kept getting wiped out, so I lost part of my train of thought. What I meant to say was “We need more pitchers that can get the job done, like Kuroda and Broxton”.

  59. selltheteam

Nelly – It’s not so hard for us to be on the same page. So why is it so hard for Frank ‘n’ Ned to be on the same page as Torre? Joe has been asking for better pitchers for two years! But Frank says to Ned: “Go dumpster diving”!

  60. dodgereric

Kersh and Billz need to watch everything that Kuroda does on the mound. He doesn’t think every hitter is Babe Ruth reincarnated. He throws strikes.

  61. trublu4ever

So glad to see you back, Crash. Love your sense of humor. With our pitching woes, a sense of humor will be needed a lot.
    .
Always a pleasure reading you, Dodgereric 🙂

  62. crzblue2

    Hi ITD!
By Friday I feel wiped out, but I am soon heading to the game. I can’t miss games when the Jints are in town.
Hopefully Padilla( or the Hamburgler like they call him at the Big Blue Wrecking Crew forum) will get it together. If he doesn’t I am dumping him from my Locos Azules.
    Emma
    http://crzblue.mlblogs.com

  63. oldbrooklynfan

    Hi Everybody
Did I ever tell you that I hate the Jints?
    Yeah, ever since Bobby Thomson…
Let’s see if Padilla’s got more than 4.1 innings up his sleeve.
Let’s hope the offense can keep it going against Todd Wellemeyer
Yesterday and for some teams, today is Jackie Robinson day
IMO as far as the Dodgers are concern every day is J.R. Day.
I think of him every time I see the Dodger uniform.
    Bring on them Gnats
    PLAY BALL!!!!!

  64. dodge1612

wassup yall… its time to beat down them pathetic halloween loving, pumpkin dressing, classless, losers from the north! GO DODGERS!!!!

  65. nedajerk

You’re welcome Crash. Yeah Eric I wouldn’t mind if he really did pitch 5 innings and I guess Kuo didn’t have 3 WP. The free swinging Giants are back lol.

  66. nedajerk

G GS W L SV BS HLD CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP BAA
    Career vs. SF 11 8 4 3 0 0 1 0 0 57.0 49 24 19 6 19 35 3.00 1.19 .237

If Padilla needs a win this is the team he’s own.

  67. robertelee@yahoo.com

Well, I must admit, I went to bed early last night and gave up on my Dodgers. Sorry, they came back with a big win. I look for another tonight. We need a sweep of the losers from the north.

  68. nellyjune

Hey Dodge1612!! It’s good to see you here!!!

Boblee – I don’t think you were in the minority last night when you thought the game was over. I actually fell asleep in the chair and woke up to Andre being interviewed 🙂

    MATTHEW RYAN KEMP!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!

  69. truebluewill

This is the way to cool off the Giants. I can’t remember the last the the Dodgers started a season hitting so well.

  70. nedajerk

Happy Bday Colleti and Buchy yeah I said it way up there in the time warp. Damn Dewitt you have a better eye than chasing that pitch.

  71. trublu4ever

PLEASE GET THIS DAMN BLOG FIXED!!!! BEEN TRYING TO POST SINCE ANDRE’S GRAN SLAM……SUBMISSION ERRORS ARE GETTING RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!

  72. bluecrewgirl

Hey everyone! Long, long time no speak. I’ve missed all of my ITD friends. First career grand slam for Andre, baby! He, Matt and the entire offense are off to such a great start. I hope the pitching catches up with it soon. I was at the game they lost on Wed. They should have won that game. It was freaking cold and I was so exhausted the next day. Just my luck the next game extra innings again with a different result and Andre getting the game winning hit. That would have been worth being tired for.

  73. nellyjune

Hey Bluecrewgirl!!! Welcome back!!! I am glad you got to enjoy a game already this year eventhough it wasn’t a win.

Hey, Nelly! How are you doing? Yeah, we still had fun and I had a great view. We were in the right field All You Can Eat Pavilion right behind Andre ): Someone spilled a bear and it leaked inside my purse. Had to throw it out it smelled so bad, lol. Man, this blog is slooooow. Wasn’t this bad last season. I’m glad to see Dewitt getting a chance. He’s had some great plays with the glove and he’ll get it going with the bat soon.

Sellthetm, must be Shad. You’ve had so many name changes, I can’t keep up, lol. Good to see you.

  75. nellyjune

Bluecrewgirl – I have been in the Right Field Pavillion and it’s fun out there. Are you going to Andre’s Bobblehead Night in May? ITD is almost an hour ahead of PST. We don’t know if that is causing all of our issues in terms of slowness, submission errors and redirects, but it is certainly playing some part in it IMO. And yes, I am glad DeWitt is getting a good solid chance this season. However, Carroll, Belliard and Johnson have been doing a good job in their role as well.

  76. truebluewill

Thanks Nelly. I’ll be signing off now. I have to go to work tomorrow and get up in 4 1/2 hrs. I think we should win this one. They better!!!!!

  77. bluecrewgirl

That should say spilled a beer. I guess I am still tired from Wed. ): Nelly, I hope to be able to go to his bobblehead night. Are you and trublu going?

  78. nedajerk

Giants suck chant and gosh Vinny why you have to say Russ in the bullpen? Nice head up Dewitt and let’s get 2 Garett.

  79. nellyjune

It’s worth a shot oldbrooklynfan. As long as you have a short leash on him, I would try and save as much of the bullpen as you can.

  80. nellyjune

    Whew!!!!!!!

WAY TO GO DODGERS!!!! THANKS FOR TAKING THE FIRST GAME AGAINST THE GNATS!! I will sleep good tonight. Get your rest. You are going to need it against Timmy.

  81. koufax1963

Did anybody think that the chin music given to kemp was on purpose? Did anybody think padilla purposely threw at rowland? Because all over the KNBR and other SF media they are stating that it was a purpose knock on rowland and that the gnats should retaliate, inciting classless behavior of the dodgers and their fans.
I dont see why padilla would purposely load the bases in that situation by hitting him.

  82. sparkleplenty_1

I don’t believe that Padilla purposely hit Rowand. The situation didn’t call for it. As you said, why load the bases even with a lead? That makes no sense at all. If the shave given to Kemp was given on purpose, then why didn’t Andre get one as well? The days of Maglie, Drysdale, Gibson, et al, are over – the game is not played that way any more.

  83. colliethec

Fax – I live in the Bay Area and get to listen to those idiots. They moaned on the tv side the whole time about how Padilla was doing that to retailate for the high & tight to Kemp.
    .
Now why would he do that when that would load the bases with their #2 & #3 bitters coming to bat an only 1 out in a 5 run game that was still early. They are classless instigators and I think are **ss poor at their job and show how classless they are. They also were making a big deal about Kemp stealing 2nd in a 6 run game. They obviously haven’t been s outigg our bullpen!
    .
NSB, Nelly, & I as well as a few others have had our fill of them. Part of my growing and extreme hatred towrads the Giants is from having to listen to those jokers for the last 10-15 years.

  84. colliethec

If he was going to bit someone it would of been at the beginning of the inning with the bases empty or after 2 outs in an inning when the bases were empty.
    .
Nelly – thanks for the well wishes! And you statement about the difference between us & them is sooooooo well put! I need to copy that to use when needed.

This listed totally scare me. Well the Giants 2.75 went up to 3.48 but that not good enough. Well 5.29 went up 5.56 thanks Ortiz for not giving us 2 scoreless innings. Are team whip and baa going down .03 and .02 spots lol? The Giants started with those numbers 2.75, 1.11, .210 which ranked 2, 1, 1 and after one games 3.48 1.23 .224 which is ranked 5, 5, 1.

  86. knouffbrock@frontiernet.net

Serviceable job from Padilla, and Ortiz is still trying his best to get back to New Mexico. Our best bet, obviously, is to get a healthy Kuo and Bellisario up to the bigs.
    *
Tough match up today, but we’ve beaten him before.

  87. Dodger4life

    Good morning Everyone………….Outstanding Game Boy’s!!!
    .
To prove to that Frank McCourt, knows the importance of a solid pitch. Russ Ortiz will not be the closer for the legal team
    .
    GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!

  88. nellyjune

Collie – My hubby is very good about it regardless of if the Dodgers win or when the Giants win. He doesn’t say a whole lot. Michael was not here during the game last night, but when he got home, he just walks in quietly, saying he is not feeling well. It was the perfect opportunity to say something about our win being related to his sudden illness, but I, being the kind person that I am, just let it go. In retrospect, I am glad I didn’t. He really wasn’t feeling well. Anyhow, I can guarantee if the tables reverse on either of these two games, he will be all over me like last night’s game didn’t even happen. It’s okay, at least we found out they are a very beatable team, whether their fans want to think that or not. At game 162, I am confident we will have the final say.

  89. koufax1963

    Collie and Sparkle and ITD,
Yes the giant fans and their media want the rivalry, and yes it exists and always will. But I am really upset that the SF media are using the rowland bean and an excuse unleash their hostility, instead of keeping it civil. Jon Miller their announcer started off the evening announcing that this is the first time the dodgers have played the “first place” giants in 4 years, and wondering how new giants (LF or whatever) will react to the dodgers fans talking about his mother. Classless act on public forum.
I trust rowland is fine and back in the line up soon, because I think that velez guy is on roids. Ha! 2 homers already for a little guy. Um? Anyway Go Dodgers and I hope L-*** has an off day.

  90. nellyjune

Rowand has a fractured cheek bone and a slight concussion. Today and tomorrow should be interesting to say the least. Who will get pegged and how they everyone on the bench will react?

  91. nellyjune

Koufax – Jon Miller really should know better too seeing how he is the voice of the Sunday Night ESPN game. Like everyone was saying last night. It wouldn’t be in Padilla’s,and the Dodgers, best interest to do that to Rowand at that time. Vin, Rick and Charlie only spoke of the incidident in terms of hoping Rowand was okay. That was the extent of their discussion on the matter.

  92. koufax1963

Nelly Lets hope for peace, on the field, don’t want any roseboro/marichal stuff going down, and may your household remain joyful, even when the dodgers win today! Go Dodgers.

  93. trublu4ever

With the mentality of the Giants, Andre and Matt better be on the lookout…I have a feeling they will try to hit one of them. Just think, they held a grudge against Fielder after what they thought was a classless act at home plate last season…..then, waited until ST for Zito to bean him.
    .
Go Dodgers….beat up on sickly Timmy!

  94. nedajerk

Wow an ex Dodgers is batting lower than Pierre this early? Are good old friend JD Drew is like 4/31 batting average of .129.

  95. colliethec

For those that don’t get the “privilage” of listening to these fools you can listen to their postgame wrap on a podcast online. Just google knbr. It’s somthing that will make you chuckle or get annoyed. It really makes you appreciate Vin and hope that the Dodgers can hire a qualified replacement who isn’t a putz.

  96. trublu4ever

Collie ~ I have the displeasure of listening to those guys almost everyday. As you say, it makes me appreciate Vinny so much, too. Charlie on the other hand, I’m not crazy about. Monday is good and would be even better if Charlie would let him speak.

  97. nedajerk

Matt Kemp hit his fifth home run as the Dodgers withstood a five-run San Francisco ninth for their second straight victory. Kemp became the first Dodger to homer in each of the team?s first four home games since the franchise moved from Brooklyn in 1958. Kemp, however, is 1 for 12 all-time versus Lincecum (2-0, 1.29 ERA). The reigning two-time NL Cy Young Award winner is 2-1 with a 3.49 ERA in six starts against Los Angeles, but 0-1 with a 5.06 ERA in three at Dodger Stadium.
