Magical mystery

It’s already been a busy morning, as everyone is trying to figure out what our “magic number” is…

Technically, since the term magic number refers to a formula, it remains two, but in reality, if we win today’s game, we will have clinched a tie for the division and based on head-to-head, we would therefore win the NL West. So, we would celebrate with champagne spraying and the whole nine yards.

If we lose, who knows what we’ll do. So let’s hope that doesn’t happen. We might wait around in the clubhouse and see what happens to the Rockies, but we’ll cross that bridge if we come to it.

One thing is certain – we’re going to the playoffs for the third time in four years and fourth time in six years and no other NL team can say they’ve done that. That’s a pretty impressive record no matter how you look at it. And the last time we went to the postseason three out of four years was in the early to mid 60s, so this is something to celebrate.

Here’s the lineup:

Furcal, SS

Pierre, LF

Ethier, RF

Kemp, CF

Loney, 1B

Belliard, 3B

Martin, C

Hudson, 2B

Kershaw, P

    Hi Everybody
Going for the clincher is a great feeling and all we have to do is win this one and the champagne will be flowing.
The big thing will be the home field advantage and I think in that case the magic # is 5 against the Cardinals and 4 against the Phillies since we won that season series.
I’m sure it works the same.
One think I don’t like is we might have to go to the wire for HFA and no time for non meaningful games which I usually enjoy.
    .
It looks like there is no MLB .TV Dodger feed, How come?
    Regardless.
    GO DODGERS!!!

  2. nellyjune

Good Morning/Afternoon ITD readers and writers!!!!!! Well, I guess Kahli got his answer. It is one 🙂

    LET’S GO DODGERS, LET’S GO!!!!!

  3. cpompe1

Good late morning ITD boys and girls!
I saw most of last night’s game. I was volunteering at the hospital yesterday afternoon, so I didn’t hear until it was 3 – 1 Dodgers. Then I got out of my car at home, went in, turned on the TV and it was 4 – 3 Bucs. Oh, yuck. But our Boys in Blue went ahead 7 – 4 before we left to see our local VC football game. During halftime, the announcer told us that the Dodgers won 8 – 4! Yeah!!! Go get ‘em boys today! I want to know that the champagne is flowing in Pittsburgh!!!

So how are my ITD friends today???

  4. oldbrooklynfan

If the Dodgers lose today, I’d rather see another game added to the Cards loss column and we can clinch this thing tomorrow.

  5. truebluewill

Eric Collins made it sound like Matt Kemp just hit a HR. You could see from Kemp’s expression he knew it was a routine fly out. I don’t want Collins replacing Vin.

  6. messagebear@msn.com

Martin does have enough time to get under .250 for the season. As far as I’m concerned, he’s the biggest disappointment of the season, and I would be delighted to see him gone off the team next year. It probably won’t happen because Torre likes him no matter what, but I would trade him as long as he still carries some value.

  7. oldbrooklynfan

Even on that shot by Loney, it was hit so hard that it came right back to Jones, couldn’t he see that Loney had no time to get to 2nd.
    Comon’ Eric.

  8. truebluewill

Nice pitching by Belisario after the triple. Both the Phillies & Cards are winning, so we need this one for home field advantage.

  9. nellyjune

My Loney has a first name,
    It’s J-A-M-E-S
My Loney has a second name,
    It’s L-O-N-E-Y
I love to watch him every day
And if you ask me why I’ll say
‘Cause James Loney has a way
    With H-I-T-T-I-N-G!

    By leefink and martinloneykemp

    Alright James, Ronnie and Russell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    LET’S GO DODGERS, LET’S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. truebluewill

I’ve been down on Martin lately so I was glad to see him come up with that big hit. He can redeem his whole season with a big playoff series.

  11. messagebear@msn.com

One hit and RBI doesn’t make up for the season, brooklynfan. If Martin can help us win in the playoffs, yes, he can make up for a lousy season, but I’m down on him, period.

  12. northstateblues

I see the Time Warp is alive and well on ITD. That makes this Johnny “Carnac the Magnificent”. Let’s see what this hermetically sealed envelope holds…

  13. northstateblues

Okay… Former Cardinal Ratzinger, The Jints, and the Colorado Rockies.

    :: envelope opens ::

Name a Pope, some Dopes, and a team with fading hopes.

  14. northstateblues

    In future news:

Charlie Steiner shall ask for the Pirates’ hand in marriage in less than 15 minutes.

I’ll let you know if they accept.

  15. oldbrooklynfan

Torre should’ve taken Broxton out he was off from the first batter in the inning.
I felt he didn’t have it right there.

  16. truebluewill

Boblee ~ I know that was a disaster, but before today’s game Broxton had 21 consecutive scoreless innings. I don’t think we should pull the plug on him now. I rather him get the bad outing out of the way now and go back to normal in the playoffs.

  17. boblee4014

It’s time for Broxton and Sherrill to switch roles. sherrill needs to be the closer. Terrible defense late innings boys…….

  18. knouffbrock@frontiernet.net

Went fishing ( caught 3 nice rainbows ) today about the time the game started and came home to learn of another give away. It’s like they don’t want to win the damn thing. I know they have won when they had to, but I’d feel a whole lot better if this was wrapped up before we went to San Diego. Hard to believe this is the same team that has the best record in the Nat’l League.

  19. kpookiemon

What a bunch of buffoons. What a great celebration it will be…either wait two hours while stewing in the latest inept loss, or try to have it tomorrow on get-away day back to the West Coast…or not at all until San Diego, if then. Broxton and Furcal should buy dinner for everyone tonight. Hell, me included! I’m hungry.

  20. shad80

We are gonna win this game today Joe……hang in there.

    By Dodger4life on September 27, 2009 12:46 PM

lol I think this was jinxed post sorry I just had to and I know it wasn’t your fault

lol I think this was jinxed post sorry I just had to and I know it wasn’t yoru fault

  22. jhallwally

I thought we had it Nelly!! Maybe it will wake them up. They seem a little complacent!!! I’m thinking the same as BobLee, switch Brox and Sherrill.

  23. nellyjune

As much as I want to give this to the defense. The defense wouldn’t have been in that position if Brox did his job, right? The closers job is to close it out…………..not put men on base.

  24. Dodger4life

Shad I’ll take the blame if it eases your pain, however we were down, when I made that statement… it just didn’t materialize, I’m still going to will my team at all times…Sorry
    .
    GO DODGERS GO!!!!
BRING THE RING TO L.A. IN 2009!!!

  25. Dodger4life

I know we are a little disappointed and we have every right to be…….The team…. they let everyone down today, out on that field, including themselves……maybe the celebrations need to be postponed…..It seems to me that the only one that really matters is the one in November, that’s it……we aren’t playing for anything else….the ring and the trophy last forever, not day’s…. not years….. forever. That being said….I think a bittersweet celebration is adequate, let them stew in this a bit…..Tomorrow we come out kicking and fighting mad and focus on attaining our goal…Which should be home field advantage and to be the last team on the field in November…….Everything else is going to feel a little bittersweet…..

  26. northstateblues

Look at Colorado coming back…. how convenient.

All the pressures on us… but the question is: Do we want Colorado to lose and clinch the division today… or do we want St. Louis to lose, and stay 3 games ahead of them for Homefield Advantage?

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Of course, none of this matters if Furcal wasn’t overexcited. Hopefully this doesn’t cool him off.

  27. crzblue2

    Hey Wally,
I always read and post when the Dodgers are on the road. I am listening to the Rockies and is very monotone. Actually I am listening to Dodger Talk, listening to the game and posting. Ha, Joe from Monrovia on Dodger Talk. That guy always calls.
Torrealba first triple of the year.
    Emma
    http://crzblue.mlblogs.com/

  28. kpookiemon

Maybe if the Dodgers DID feel pressure they wouldn’t stink up the place in Washington and Pittsburgh. They’ll get their champagne party but they’re going about it half-a**.

  29. lbirken@aol.com

While I agree that a 3 run lead with Broxton on the mound should be safe, this was just not his day today. I don’t think it is time to shove Big Bad John aside for one lousy outing. For the most part he has been pretty darn good down the streatch. Rather, you have to wonder how the Dodgers could play in such a funk against the Nationals and Pirates at this stage of the season. All this loss does is push back a celebration, perhaps to later today when none of us can share in it, perhaps to tomorrow in a day game when again most of us will not be able to watch. Of course, this loss could prove costly if the Dodgers cannot hold on to home field advantage. In reality, winning the division only means a chance to continue playing for the big prize and in my mind does not warrant a huge over the top celebration.

  30. jhallwally

LOL CZ!!! I’m also listening. Lot’s of disappointed Dodger fans this afternoon. Myself included. Oh well, not like we completely blew it. Just put off the inevitable for another day or tonight if Rocks lose.

  31. northstateblues

From a Yahoo! Sports article (just one line from a glowing article on our team):

“Despite their recent success, they haven’t been to the World Series since a patchwork lineup that hardly ranks among the best in club history surprised the A’s in a five-game series best known for Kirk Gibson’s hobbling-to-the-plate pinch-hit homer.”
    http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Aty70EzmWIExXPCXKNTBz5ERvLYF?slug=ap-dodgersadvance&prov=ap&type=lgns

Didn’t know Bob Costas wrote for Yahoo! Sports.

  32. jhallwally

Hi’Ya IB!! Nice post and I agree for the most part. It seems to be a trend with Brox however!! When he comes in with a big lead, he is not as focused. We need that home field advantage in my opinion.

  33. northstateblues

Lbirken, the celebrations the last couple of playoff-bound seasons were nice, but now, it’d seem premature to go too crazy over it.

In Hockey, they have an unsaid rule: You only celebrate the highest achievement you hope to win. i.e. You don’t go lifting the conference trophy. I don’t watch Hockey, but I’ve always liked that sensibility about the sport, though I liked the champagne showers last year.

This year though, let’s have the shower in November.

  34. kpookiemon

Here’s the AP’s first sentence of the game wrap-up:
“Right fielder Andre Ethier misplayed Lastings Milledge’s two-run single for an error that allowed the winning run to score, and the Pittsburgh Pirates rallied for four in the ninth inning to beat the Dodgers 6-5 and prevent Los Angeles from clinching the NL West title Sunday.”
Ethier was the least of the “criminals” in that disaster…funny about perception. Joe also intentionally walked the winning run to first base. Would he do that if it wasn’t the lowly Pirates? Here comes that respect thing again, I’m afraid.

  35. Dodger4life

There are no coulda, woulda, shoulda’s…….in this game. Only the one’s in front of ya…… and the one’s behind ya…..
You have to believe that the one’s in front of ya belong behind ya….. and have the convictions and heart to put them there…….Plenty of teams still stand in our way….The question is……What are we going to do about it!!!!!

  36. northstateblues

There are a few people who I would blame for that loss, and Andre doesn’t even register in the top 3. Then again, I couldn’t hear much baseball on the radio at that point, as Steiner was practically proposing marriage to Pittsburgh on that play.

I like Steiner, but the way he calls losses, they should have that guy arrested for bigamy. Every close loss is called like Jack Buck calling Gibby’s Game 1 Homer.

  37. kpookiemon

The Rockies are only two up on the Braves in the loss column…and the Braves have already won. The Dodgers can not expect the Rockies to lose and deliver them a division.

  38. jhallwally

Phillies already won, Cards trailing in the 8th. I just don’t want our guys to think they have it made. We need home field advantage and we are playing the doormats of the National League. I guess we will see where their heads are tomorrow and this week. Time to step it up!!!

  39. lbirken@aol.com

It looked to me that Ethier either misjudged Milledge’s hit or was just out of position. In trying to compensate for that he bobbled the ball allowing the winning run to score. Lack of focus or just one of those things? The fact remains that no opponent can be taken ligntly and the game is the same no matter the opponent’s position in the standings. I am sure the Dodgers talked about all this stuff prior to this trip.

  40. kpookiemon

TJ Simer’s schtick all week has been delaying the clincher until Vinny gets to the microphone. If Rockies hold on, he’ll be applauding Broxton and Furcal in his column tomorrow for sure. Even more bizarre, if the Rocks lose, there will be NO radio or TV call at all!!!!

  41. jhallwally

Well, Rocks win. I guess we wait till tomorrow. We’ll get’em tomorrow and nail it down. I’m rooting for Atlanta to overtake the Rockies for the wild card and our Dodgers to hold on for home field. Let the Cards and Phillies face off in the short series.

  42. lbirken@aol.com

No celebration today, Rocks win. At least they beat the Cardinals so there is some help for the Dodgers. Tomorrow is another day. While I would love for Vinny to call the division clinching game, I would just as soon get it over sooner than later.

  43. nellyjune

Hey lbirken!!! How have you been? Tough, tough loss today, but I think it will all be good. It will hurt enough tonight for them to come back and get it done tomorrow.

  44. nellyjune

Shad – It was bad, but it wasn’t that bad. I wish for alot of things, but I would never want any harm to come to any Dodger over an error or a bad game. We are going to remain their fans regardless of how well or how bad they do. That’s why we are here……………..for the love of our Dodgers.

  45. northstateblues

Side note: Over on the UniWatch blog ( http://www.uniwatchblog.com ), they have a game on the weekends called “Guess the Scoreboard”, and I was actually able to guess it. You could use http://www.baseball-reference.com to find out which game it is by looking at the scoreboard. Here’s the pic, see if anyone can get it. One hint: The two teams playing in the game should be painfully familiar today, though the field might be pleasantly familiar to a few of our ITD readers:

  46. shad80

I know Nelly but getting tired of losing game that should’ve been a win and not to mention are defense on these road trip is bad. I missed are good defense and heck why not have Hu there and bring in Kuo when Bills faced the first 3 to 4 batters?

  47. shad80

Oops damn I mean Broxton but we know Broxton always seem to find a way to blow Bills win and get a win for himself. I’m so used to that one.

  48. truebluewill

Oldbrooklynfan ~ I got the day off from work tomorrow so I’ll be able to watch the game. The BUMS are going to do it tomorrow. We’ll root them home together.

  49. shad80

Should had Troncoso warming up when Broxton gave up back to back PH single especially one that had counted 0-2. Troncoso can pitch on the road and only had 7 pitches last night and is not like Torre hasn’t overused him all year long.

  50. cpompe1

Good late evening ITD boys and girls!
Oh, what a sickening bottom of the 9th after such an extremely promising top of the 9th today! Oh well, I’m sure they’ll wrap up the division tomorrow – at least they better!

TBW – You and I will be watching the game tomorrow morning together! You’re on one coast, and I’m on another!

My Nellygirl! Are you still here? I hope so!

  51. nellyjune

oldbrooklynfan – the sun will come up tomorrow/today, and the Dodgers will take care of business and clinch this NL West Division.

truebluewill – You day off will be worth it because they will get it done tomorrow. I am hoping it will be done right around lunch time here, so I can see the end.

  52. cpompe1

Okay, I’m going to repost this so it “appears” at the bottom, like it’s supposed to. And if you’re thoroughly confused, sorry I don’t mean to. It’s the same post as my 10:24 PM post…

Good late evening ITD boys and girls!

  53. nellyjune

Well, you just got time warped the 19 minutes that dodgereric discovered the other night. It will be up to 20 in the next few days.

  54. cpompe1

    My Nellygirl!
So you DID see my first post some 7 minutes, a-hem, BEFORE you – even though I saw your 10:31 post before I did! This is, I don’t know what to call it, weird to say the least. I reposted because I didn’t know if you would scroll up to see my “new” post! And yes, that was an awful ending to the game. Not going to say anything but, GO GET ‘EM BOYS TOMORROW!!! I want the division wrapped up before we go to San Diego!

    So how’s school going?

  55. cpompe1

I just noticed. I DID get time warped ahead 15 minutes. Did you see my posts from earlier today? My first couple were the right time, and then my last 2 were some 19 minutes ahead of time! Like I said before, DOUBLE ARGHHH!!!

  56. cpompe1

Ya know Nelly, I can’t do anything right now but laugh at all of these time warps. I mean, if I try and stay mad at these time warps, it’ll drive me nuttier than the Dodgers are playing right now!

  57. nellyjune

Just like most games like this, they seem to gut it out the following game and come out on top. I don’t think anything different will happen tomorrow. They will celebrate on the flight home to California.

School is going pretty good. No major complaints about my class anyway. Our school exceeded our standards set for us by the state once again so that’s always good. That means another year being able to do things that we like to do rather than being told what to do by the state/district. I have a student teacher in the classroom this semester. It’s the first time I have done this. I lucked out and got a good one. She already has been subbing in the district whereas my colleague has one who has never worked in a classroom before.

    So, how was your weekend?

  58. cpompe1

Glad to hear that you don’t have any major complaints about your class. I’ll pray that it stays that way for you and your student teacher! Yes, it is always good to hear that your school exceeded state standards.

My weekend was busy. The week has been busy. I mean this DVD training I’m doing is taking up ALL of my time. That’s a good thing except that tonight, for example, we had NOTHING to eat for dinner. Well, you know what I mean by nothing. I was studying and working on some exercises in the book. Then dinnertime rolled around, I finished what I was doing, and went to look to see what to have for dinner. Needless to say I hadn’t planned anything earlier in the day. So I went out for a quickie meal – I’ll do grocery shopping tomorrow. All that in between studying, going to the gym, volunteering (although I’m not doing that this week; that’ll help), and household chores. Back to what I had to do when I had a real job. By and large I’ve been unemployed for very close to 2 years, and I just need to get back in a routine. It’ll get there.

And Nelly, I hear you about those Submission Errors – very frustrating indeed!

  59. cpompe1

And Nelly, my 11:04 post was my 3rd or 4th try at that same message! And it “appeared” at the “right” time again! I wasn’t getting Submission Errors, but Redirect somethings…

  60. nellyjune

I rather have the time warp than the “Submission Errors.” At least with the time warp you can still post. A Submission Error happens and you are locked out for 5-10 minutes, and that is frustrating, especially when it happens when you are having a conversation or at the end of the game (if I happen to be on). That happened to me the other night when you signed off. By the time I got back on, you were long gone.

  61. nellyjune

It sounds like this class is very time consuming, but I am glad you finding time to fit in your routine-type stuff. I am getting more of a routine myself. I am not going the gym, but I am working out at home………………….just started a few days ago, plus just eating better. 3 other teachers and I have been doing this for about a month now. I have lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks. It’s coming off gradually, but I am not starving either. We decided as a group just to eat heathier, but don’t give up everything that is fun……………….just less, and so far, it seems to be working for all of us. I have lost the most out of the group, but I also have more to lose than the rest of them too.

  62. nellyjune

I will read the article. I felt so bad for him today, and then they covered the game like he was the only one who caused this loss. They need to show the whole inning to get the big picture on the downfall of today’s game.

  63. cpompe1

10 pounds lost in 4 weeks??? Wow, that is great!!! I know I have some decisions to make about my time management skills, but I know it’ll all work out in the end. And like I said before, I just need to get back in a routine. It’s always tough at first, but we’ll see what next week is like!

I linked that article on Andre – THEN I read it. It wasn’t exactly the type of article I was thinking, but at least we know what’s on his mind!

    Frank/Ned: Sign Andre LONG-TERM!!!

  64. cpompe1

Well Nelly, it’s getting late and I’m REALLY tired. I’m looking at a VERY early wake-up, so I can watch the game at 9:30 AM! I’ll catch up ya later! Good night Nelly!

  65. nellyjune

See, as much as I don’t want to be a pain in the behind everytime JP plays for Andre, stuff like what he says about playing time just grinds me. How else is he and James going to get better at hitting lefties if they are sitting on the bench against them? It just doesn’t make any sense. I know I am speaking to the choir on this topic, but his defense play (minus today’s mishap) should be enough to warrent Andre (and Matt) playing everyday. Let Manny have he days off if JP needs to play.

  66. cpompe1

And I know I said goodnight, but I was doing something else and refreshed ITD, and read your last post. Yeah, I’m with you. If JP needs to play, let Manny have a day off. It’s not he’s swinging the bat the way he used to…

Okay, now I’ll say goodnight! Goodnight Nelly!!!

  67. nellyjune

Good Night CP!!!!!! I am hoping to catch the end of the game at lunchtime. Dodgereric made a good point about long-term contracts, and maybe it isn’t such a good idea unless it really, really benefits Andre to do so. I guess we will find out soon enough, but like he said in the article, you can’t worry about it. He does have a great head on his shoulders………………..just seems to take all the stuff off the field in stride. He saves his determination and temper for the field – lol!!!!. Take Care and God Bless CP!!!!!

  68. kpookiemon

In honor of Jonathon Big John and Raffy…belatedly:
“I don’t want to spoil the party so I’ll go,
I would hate my disappointment to show,
There’s nothing for me here so I will disappear…”

  69. dodgereric

I don’t want to make it seem like I’m over-reacting to one game. The way we’re playing on this trip is horrible. We’re lucky to be 3-3 against the bottom-dwelling Nats and Bucs, and that’s not the way you want to go into the post-season, is it?

I’ve been too busy to read what the genius Torre has to say about it, but then again, I already know. “I’m not worried, every time they’re tested, they come through, blah, blah, blah.” It might even come to pass that way, and if it does, Torre will continue to have the media fawn over him as the man who never gets upset, steadying influence, etc. Maybe I’m wrong. I admit I’m not that way so perhaps that’s why I want someone rattling their cage right now, busting up furniture, cussing a blue streak behind closed doors.

Ah well, it’s only a game.

Shad, our record when we get 10 or more hits this season is 57 – 13. Pretty impressive, huh? Then again, that makes our record 36 – 50 when we DON’T get 10 hits. That’s NOT very impressive when you supposedly have the best pitching staff in the league. What’s wrong with that picture?

    Must be Monday.

  70. nellyjune

Good Morning ITD readers and writers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    CP ~ Good point!!

dodgereric – great post and poem. At least Jimmie and the Chargers won yesterday. So, your day wasn’t too, too bad :))

  71. perumike

Good morning everyone!! Hope we get to see our boys close out the division today! I work at home so I get to watch the game. 🙂 I hope you are all doing well too, and have been holding down the fort while I have been gone. Have a great day everyone!

  72. nellyjune

CP – If Andre has to stand before an arbitration panel this year, then Russell better be doing the same thing this time through. If you take what they were paid this year and how they performed, their salaries should have been switched IMO.

  73. truebluewill

    Good morning everyone!
    .
    .
    .
TB4 ~ I hope this lineup gets it done. I have a small bottle of champagne on ice ready to go WHEN, and I mean when, they clinch today.

  74. cpompe1

Good morning ITD boys and girls!
Okay, I got up VERY EARLY this morning. Well, early considering that many times I’d still be in bed right now! I’ve got a lot to do today – not the least of which is to watch our Boys in Blue clinch the division TODAY!!! I’m optimistic that they WILL do it today!!!

Nelly – I had to follow-up about my mention last night to Frank and Ned to sign Andre long-term. I understand what you and Eric are saying about long-term contracts and that it may not be such a good idea unless it really benefits Andre to do so. But honestly, the way I look at it is this. If Andre really said and really wants what Kenny G wrote about, “…he’ll be seeing management at the arbitration table after settling just before a hearing this year, unless the club signs him to a long-term contract…” I say, why not? I mean if Andre wants the Dodgers to sign him long-term and the Dodgers know what they’re getting (a young gun that’s only going to get better), then why not sign him long term? But again the operative words are if Andre REALLY said that he wants to be signed long-term. Unless Kenny G had Andre’s words in “quotes” saying he wants to be signed long-term, then I can’t really say that those are Andre’s thoughts.

Eric – This hasn’t been the road trip that I thought it would be either. I thought we would’ve had this sewn up by now. But it is a long season and players are humans, not machines. I can’t expect them to be firing on all cylinders this late in the season. No, it’s not the way you want to go into the post-season, but I’m still not worried about it. Again, my optimism shows; the Dodgers WILL win today and they WILL clinch the division. After today, there is plenty of time to set up their rotation, give guys breaks, so on. But like I said last night, I want them to wrap up the division before we go to San Diego tomorrow!!!

    GO DODGERS!!!
    GO KURODA-SAN!!!
LET THE CHAMPAGNE FLOW IN PITTSBURGH AND ON THE PLANE!!!

    Hey Trumom!
That’s a strange line-up for me to say the least. But ya never know. It’s a good thing that the game is played on a baseball field between the white lines and not on paper. Well, this was a short visit, but I’ve gotta get some things done before Dodger Baseball!!! Catch up with y’all later…

Good morning everyone! It’s time for Dodger baseball!!!
    .
    Tru, you posted a good question. Guess we’ll find out when the game’s over . . . . .

I’m afraid I’m with northstateblues on the champagne thing – I don’t celebrate unless it’s for the whole enchalada.

    Hi Everybody,
Well, will they do it today?
    That is the question.
If not, they have 5 more chances to prove last year was no fluke.
I think we have a chance today with Kuroda on the mound, if Duke don’t give us any trouble.
Let’s hope they crack open the Champagne this afternoon.
    GO BLUE!!!!!

    Must be Monday.

    good morning ITDers!
I am a little nervous. I don’t know why, I think is the excitement, the lots to do at work before I can be off to san Diego Tuesday and Wedneday.
    .
I wish I would have brought a Martinelli apple cider to celebrate at work. I only had champagne at home and of course I can’t bring that.
    Let’s go Kuroda
    Lets go Dodgers.

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Two more stupid base running plays! 3 in two innings! Why don’t they just forfeit the game and be done with it. Save all of us some agony. Do they want to win this game?
