Well, the big three amigos finally batting back to back. Is Joe actually reading ITD – nah, he’s just giving Martin a night off.
Also, how bad is Loney doing against left handed pitching? Can it really be as bad as Loretta?
It does look good, doesn’t it, Messagebear? Even with Loretta in there. I just wonder if he will leave it that way when Russell and James are back in the lineup.
Santana Good job on plunking Sandoval. Loney is hitting over .300+ so nto bad at all.
*not
Wow these Giants fans are stupid they hit Wright and they think Santana won’t do nothing.

By the way, the “Lil Matt” video is hilarious!
Loretta rack left hand pitching but so does Loney. Ethier is hitting under .200 against lhp but Torre isn’t that dumb to take everyday dre out of the lineup
We do need a “LIL DRE” bobblehead!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Early Evening ITD, Dodger Faithful and Our Beloved Boy’s In Blue…..

GO DODGERS!!!!!
BRING THE RING TO L.A. IN 2009!!!!!!
-The Lil’ Matt Kemp video is funny. Curious to hear what the Snoop song would sound like… hope that we get to find out. And Snoop’s right, LA loves championships, not just beating the rival teams.
-Speaking of rival teams, it was funny to see New York Giants pitcher Santana plunk San Francisco Giants batter Sandoval. Would’ve been funnier if he didn’t hit that homer afterwards. I love the movie Kung Fu Panda, and hate that the Jints have ruined it for me.
-Would’ve been funny seeing Bochy get thrown out again… I was cheering for the umps, which are the true rival of the whining SF Giants… must be drinking the Kool-Aid the NFL team across the bay does. I should know, being a Raiders fan.
-The Mets hats don’t work with the Giants jerseys, though, and the Mr. Met on the sleeve makes it all seem silly. Like the Mets would do a ”10s – ’20s Brooklyn Jersey against the Dodgers, and keep the NY Mets hat. Anyhow, too many Giants on TV, I think I’ve had enough.
Finally Matt Kemp hitting cleanup! I hope we win and score a lot of runs tonight with this lineup. Maybe Joe will keep using it. You know baseball superstition.
TBW ~ unfortunately, we also know Joe Torre!!!
Let’s go Mets blow this win for Cain.
Keep it going Mets………let’s make the Giants a loser tonight!!!!
LOL, Shad!
You think he would keep the lineup more than 1 day?
Yay, Mets! Tied it up!!!!
Nice sac fly ex dodgers.
Wow Lidge blow another save unbelieveable.
Damn Krod giving up a homerun to your ex teammate in Anaheim.
Let’s do it again Mets
Okay, Giants pulled one out……let’s not worry about them….JUST BEAT THE DBACKS AND IT DOESN’T MATTER!! GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!
Damn you should had work the count there after Wilson pitch 2 2/3 innings.
hahahaha check the meltdown on Lidge someone want Park to be there closer lol

HI Everybody.
DON”T PANIC
Because the Dodgers are professionals and they are not going to panic.
This team will not put any more pressure on itself.
They’re loose and they believe in themselves.
They’re not pressing.
They’re relax and enjoying the game as they’ve done all year long.
Nobody’s worried about the Giant’s and Rockies.
GO DODGERS*****
I love the video of Lil Matt! and I am loving the lineup! Let’s get it done boys!

Hi JoePierre!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Did you check Vin’s video there?
.
Good evening Vin! I am ready for the question of the day! _I always respond to Vin because he is talking to each one of us.

Emma
http://crzblue.mlblogs.com/
Nice to come back from a 0-2 count to work that walk Loretta.
Good start for Kuroda. I’d like to see him go 7 or 8 innings tonight.
No I didn’t yet, Emma.
Nice clutch hit by Ausmus to get us started! He’s done a good job in the games he’s started this year.
NICE GOING AUSMUS, we got a lead.
and Davis doesn’t look to hot.
Hi Trueble wil
Hope we a luckier tonight.
And Ausmus got that RBI single with two outs!
.
Wow! that bison (el valiente) can run!
Wow, Andre hit again!
lol the Beat LA chant it just don’t sound right.
Urgh and Torre still never send the runner missed those steal.
Crap……..we really blew an opportunity to score lots of runs that inning!!!!
Andre got hit again? That one I didn’t see.
Dang Loretta he probably would had walk you since Davis is #1 in walks allowed and Kershaw #2.
Damn I hate when the pitcher get the bunt down with 2 strike. I surely hope Wright is ok.
I just hope that Davis doesn’t settle down before the Dodger figure him out.
Just brushed him….not hard but he was hit!
Tb4 ~ You said it. And we had our big guys up too. Not to worry I feel we’re going to get to Davis eventually.
This guys had allowed 5 walks in 2 games this month. Dang another dp
oh brother, walks then dps. Waste not want not boys!
TBW ~ I think we will get to him too. I just want to score lots of runs so Kuroda can relax and continue pitching this great game.
Damn!!!!
Another DP!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
It looks like Davis is having trouble throwing strikes but the Dodgers are having trouble offensively.
I hope they get to him before they take him out.
YAY……another run!
Who going to catch Haegar? I just can’t see Martin catching him.
Maybe the Dodgers should leave their bats on their shoulders.
OK, so I don’t know where my post went. Who is catching the knuckleballer?
Damn they should be a run
Terrible AB’s Manny
Thanks for the gift.
oldbrooklynfan ~ Not a bad idea. At least they gave us another run.
Shad,
I think it would be Ausmus since he is catching today and maybe Russ tomorrow. Haeger starts Monday. Billz goes Tuesday.
Emma
http://crzblue.mlblogs.com/
THANK YOU DOUG
We can sure use the help.
lol they have beach ball in Arizona?
I think Manny could had got rid of that throw fast to keep him on first.
Vin said that on this day in Dodger baseball Babe Herman triple into a double play. I forgot the year.
Woohoo! the beard one with a triple!
Emma
http://crzblue.mlblogs.com/
O.K. LORETTA, that the way to do it with a man on 3rd and less than 2 out.
you are welcome Shad! I am getting excited that Kuroda will start the 6th and maybe go beyond!!
Way to go Casey!!!!
I sure Davis is gone now.
Alright Casey! I think this is where we need to chase Davis. Or maybe do damage, but not enough for them to pull him? I kinda like having Davis in there! 🙂
Wow Vinny that was a good story on Babe Herman but dang triple played and Blake with a lead off triple.
I wrote that wrong thanks Emma.
Please be ok Hiroki!!
Good sac-fly, Mark!
Holy crap he better be ok.
OMG! Kuroda hit in the head by a line drive by Rusty. Lord, let him be OK please!
Let’s hope and pray he’ll be O.K.
For his own sake.
I just saw the replay a little while ago. Thoughts and Prayers to Kuroda, family and players of both teams.
I hope Matt notice that the runner of first took second when he made that high, unable to be cut off throw.
i was remember when Ishii got hit.
We all know the game doesn’t matter now. Let’s hope Hiroki is not hurt seriously.
Dang it Matt you should had thrown that at 2nd.
My prayers are with you Hiroki.
lol at that R Ryal hit a ground rule double to pitcher.
That was heat from Mac.
That was hard to see.
.
Thoughts & prayers out to Hero right now…
I remember that one to Emma.
Sigh Furcal got robbed.
Vin said the report from the Dodgers is “at no time did kuroda lose consciousness and there was no bleeding involved”
Good going Hong-Chih, as usual.
Sounds like good news, so far.
It would be nice to get a couple of insurance runs now.
*@#$^%***
Ausmus almost had another hit. He deserved another start tomorrow.
Damn double plays!!!
Oh come on Pierre didn’t even try to steal a base. No reason for that dp
I do not know what in the hell has gone wrong with this guy, but this ENOUGH! If Sherrill is not the closer from now on, I may jump off the Joe band wagon. This is truly unbelievable. Waste Kuroda’s effort like that is crap.
Please Broxton make it an easy 3 up 3 down save! Pretty please.
Let’s go Brox.
We’re not getting the big hits when we need them,
too many dp’s. We’re playing .500 ball since the first week in july when Manny came back. Our lead is slowly melting away. Torre needs to light a fire under this team.
Wow we got a break Parra swung at ball 4.
Here we go again
Crap! Come on Brox!
Time to change Broxton role now
Unbelievable!
Who wants to bet that that toe is bothering Broxton a lot more than he is letting on? Give him a week off Joe, let Sherrill close!
I think Brox should still be our closer, but it looks like something is wrong. If he needs to take some time off, do it now, not in September!!
If he is hurt, DL him and let Sherrill close
Well, that sucks. Our failure to get in runs is going to put this team in trouble
Collie, I couldn’t have said it better. My thoughts exactly.
It would’ve been good for Kuroda to get the win tonight, but alas.
Broxton can’t not pitch on the road.
SPLITS ERA W L Sv SvO GP GS CG IP H R ER HR BB SO BAA

August (2009) 4.50 0 0 1 2 4 0 0 4.0 4 2 2 1 2 2 .250
un-f’ing-beleivable Brox has lost it, Sherrill needs to close before we give this division away. I wanna throw up right now
When we get a good start, the bully blows it. When we get a bad start the bully seems to shut them down, but it’s too late.
.
We’ll score a bunch of runs and win in a blowout then go cold and loose 5 out of 6 games and just score 7-8 runs as the total of those games.
.
When they kept hitting into all the DP’s I was thinking to myself, once again that’s going to bite us in the butt.
.
They seem to waste chances in the game and then let other teams hang close.
.
Earlier in the year they had a killer instinct. They put teams away early when they had the chance. Now they don’t.
.
We had the lineup for the most part that we’ve been wanting all year long and it’s produced just 3 runs. Torre needs to leave this lineup together for a few games to see what they can do.
.
Manny seems to be pressing and trying to do to much. That was evident by his attempting to tag and score from 3rd the other night on a pop up just behind short. He seems to be flailing on some of his swings. He never did that last year from what I observed.
.
Brox is really looking shaky now. Gave up the 2 dingers tonight and gave up one while in SF.
RISP… 0-2 that inning alone.
.
They seem to make it tough on themselves and often come back & win.
.
‘Which is great and really fun. However that won’t be the case in the playoffs. If we even make the playoffs. We will be toast.
We are getting beat by pretty much a tripe-A team. What is going to happen with the four-game series against St Louis? In the first half the bullpen were like voulchers getting wins. Sometimes they deserved them sometimes they just let the save get away. Oh brother. Bases loaded, one out. oy vey.
kiss the playoffs goodbye, what happened to this team?
Finally a stolen base.
The last two games have really been a huge disappointment. All losses are hard to take but, we are losing to the DBacks!!!!
Come on Kemp steal another base
Dang what was you swinging at Blake?
Something has to be done about Broxton. I don’t know what. We’re not playing that well lately, not scoring many runs, when we do have a lead in the ninth we can’t afford to give it away.
Good baserunning by Kemp any extra base we can take, since runs are so hard to come by..
This is over. really sucks. We deserve to lose our lead in the West.
Feels like a free fall.
Everything is going against us.
I just hope that the players don’t feel it.
I’m just to depressed to make anymore comments. I just hope Kuroda is ok. Good night.
We have a capable closer. Now that Brox is slipping, maybe we should use him.
Don’t fear the (Brim) Reaper
This bullpen collapse really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Some of us predicted it weeks ago. It was just a matter of time before the way Torre handles and misuses pitchers was going to catch up with the Dodgers, and now it has.
Well, I’m just glad football is starting. Can take my mind off baseball when we play like this.
If we win 2 of the 7 games against the Cards and Cubs, I’ll be surprised.
I’m not saying we won’t make the playoffs. However they really need to turn something around soon.
.
I would venture to say that was the worst/toughest loss of the season.
.
Does this team have what it takes to go through these adverse situations and tough times. What will their character show that they are. Are they going to curl up in a ball and pout and quit? Or are they winners and fighters and going to stand up to meet the challenge that they are faced with?
.
We will know in the next 6+ weeks.
Well, goodnight, I just hope Kuroda is ok. He was really starting to pitch well.
That was a game they should have won. The most important thing is that Kuroda is ok. Hopefully, he is. A shame they wasted his great effort. If Brox still has issues with his toe they should move Sherrill to the closer spot until he’s better. Sherrill was an all star closer for Baltimore last season and his #s are good this season too. I love Brox, he just doesn’t look himself.
You have got to be kidding me. Did that really happen? on top of Kuroda getting hit. Oh well. The important thing really is Kuroda’s health. Hope he has nothing but a head ache in the morning.
A little bullpen music for your listening pleasure Boy’s!!!!
.
Get your head out of your asss or we are headed for Milk, Cream and Alcohol.

Happy Birthday Tru!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRUEBLUE4EVER!!!!!!!
I forgot you lost your E’s……LOL!!!
Good Night and God Bless………..Good Morning and Go Dodgers!!!!!!
Well, good morning everyone. I think that was the worse, pathetic, poorly managed game and a game the Dodgers showed no drive or interest in winning last night. I’m glad Kuroda was not hurt seriously. Was pretty scary. If Torre doesn’t do something, this team may not even win the wild card as they are fading very fast. Both SF and the Rocs could easily overtake us the way we are playing. If we fare badly against the Cards and Cubs, we may see our lead down to a couple of games. Not a picture I would like to see. Our team does not seem to have the same attitude we had earlier in the year. Yoo many double plays and way too many runners left in scoring position. We need to rebound starting today.
I know you people don’t want to hear it, but we’re about a week away from sticking a fork in this team.
Ned didn’t address the biggest need this team had during the offseason – starting pitching. And as I suspected before the season started, the bully was done by the end of July thanks to JoJo the Idiot Clown who has no concept of in-game management, nor how not to kill a bullpen. I also think its obvious that Brox has lost major velocity, and let’s face it. Troncoso’s finished too – another JoJo casualty. And I don’t care how much of a slump Loney’s in, he’s still a damn site better than Loretta. Play your best and let the chips fall where they may.
There’s no drive on this team either. Everything last years team was during the stretch run, this years team isn’t. When they got a brief break in the August schedule playing a LOUSY team, they look like a bunch of clowns (wonder where that comes from?)
Since Frank won’t sell the team, the least he could do is fire Ned and JoJo after this season. Quit hiring friggin ex Bay Area idiots to run the team, and quit hiring American League managers to manage in the NL.
I was afraid of a slide. When a team tears through the first half the way the Dodgers did, they run the risk of being burnt out by the time it counts. Our bullpen is shot, save for Sherrill, and although I do think that the team’s wilted attitude last night came from being worried about Kuroda’s condition, it would’ve been nice to see some fight.
There’s enough time to “come back” (in quotes because we’re still in first for the time being), but our pitching is in shambles, the owner of the team is spreading his finances wide and thin. I’m still puzzled over why he chose to buy the LA Marathon [and ruin its tradition with an odd date], when he had to GO INTO DEBT to buy the team in the first place, and has no money from TV Rights coming in.
I guess he thinks his job’s over at the end of Spring Training when it comes to tending to the Roster. Because now that we have a NEED for pitching, the pockets are bare. I bet the two Malibu houses aren’t.
We need an owner who is Dodgers first, community second. It’s very important to give to the community, but L.A. will turn on you in a second if you can’t do your job of bringing Championships to LA. Frank must have a good heart, and I’m serious there. But we need the Dodgers to be a priority.
The team is better than this. I know it. You know it. They know it. I’m just waiting for Plaschke to give up on ’em, because that’s usually when they come together.
Joe is used to abusing the bullpen, because the Yankees would simply buy him some additional arms when it was needed. He has been asking for pitching every chance he got, but Ned came up with the likes of Milton and Vargas, the possibility of Schmidt coming back. I can believe that the McCheaps don’t have the ready resources to add payroll, and the last thing I want is for them to give up additional good prospects to some team that will carry the payroll for an added arm or two.
I think that Joe is an IDIOT and already retired into the west coast scene; that Ned is totally incompetent, whom other GM’s don’t take seriously – one who can’t even spend the money he’s given with any good sense. But, most of all the McCheaps are the Big Pretender, acting like they know how to own a sports franchise, when they’re really just a couple of social climbers who don’t know the first thing about baseball, except what they observed as Red Sox fans. They’re the biggest stumbling block for the Dodgers, and they will be the big reason why this team of young promise will break up in a couple of years. That will be even harder to take than the collapse of this year’s team.
We may need Plashke around yet, if for no other reason than maybe he can help to drive the McCheaps out of town in the not too distant future. Boston SCUMBAGS.
Talk about insult to injury. Nothing to figure out on this one:
Kuroda’s injury. 22, that’s 22, runners LEFT ON BASE. Another poor outing from Brox and Tronscoso (and that’s being very nice about it). Joe says Brox is still the closer, but if he is not considering Sherrill, he’s as bad a manager as some of you seem to think.
*
Do I want to hear that crap about “moving on”. Hell no. Move on to what? Second place? Or third? As I’ve mentioned in past years, maybe it’s time to bring Reggie Smith back into the club house and turn over a few tables. Probably to early for that as the injury to Kuroda would cause anybody to lose focus.
*
So… at the end of the day, is this as important as Kuroda’s head, or our troopers getting picked off in Afghanistan? No.
But these people are taking millions for this “past time”, and it’s time to kick it in gear.
Good morning ITDers ~ I guess we all can agree between Kuroda getting hit and Broxton blowing the save, last night game was the worst loss of the year so far. My main concern is with Broxton. Just take a look at these stats:
Apr 6, 2009 to Jun 16, 2009
G W L ERA IP H ER BB SO HR SV BSV
30 6 0 1.36 33.0 12 5 11 53 0 16 2
Jun 20, 2009 to Aug 15, 2009
G W L ERA IP H ER BB SO HR SV BSV
20 1 0 6.41 19.2 18 14 11 25 4 9 3
I don’t know if it has to do with his toe or whatever, but he’s not the same pitcher he was earlier in the season. One thing I felt about this team all season is: whenever they been faced with a challenge they usually respond. The only question is when. How much more of the lead will evaporate before they can turn it around. I sure hope they do. I’m not giving up just yet.
northstateblues ~ That was a great post.
TB4 ~ Happy Birthday!!!
I know what you would like for a present.
A DODGERS WIN!!!! GO BLUE!!!
Good afternoon everyone…….
.
I am glad to see Kuroda’s test results were good.
.
Manny needs to put some explosiveness, into the offense. The opposing pitchers don’t seem to fear him the way they did earlier in the year.
.
The pitching staff looks tired they have very little control on the breaking stuff….Earlier in the year we survived on ground ball outs and wicked movement….Now were getting beat by pitches up and over the plate.
.
We expand the roster soon and hopefully will get some relief, until then we need to get our offensive motors running on all cylinders and it starts with the Big Boy!!!
.
TAKE IT TO THEM TODAY BOY’S!!!!
BRING THE RING TO L.A. IN 2009!!!!!
NO EXCUSE’S!!!! GET IT DONE!!!!!
