The Stars Come Out…
Two games for the prices of one…the Hollywood Stars softball game is before the real game tonight, with Orlando Hudson and Randy Wolf serving as the managers for the two respective teams. Randy gets told a lot that he looks like one of the participants – Ian Ziering from 90210. It’s actually kind of spooky…but what do you think?
Anyway, here’s the lineup for the real game tonight:
Furcal, SS
Hudson, 2B
Manny, LF
Ethier, RF
Blake, 3B
Loney, 1B
Martin, C
Kemp, CF
Kuroda, P
The last time I attended Hollywood Stars night I have to admit I did not know most of the celebrities. And how long has it been a softball game? Years ago it was a regular (but only 3 inning) baseball game. Anyway, all in good fun. I will be there but probably won’t get there in time to see much of the celebrity game.
GO DODGERS…….LET’S FRY SOME FISH TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
lbirken π
With the teams in second and third place playing each other, a Dodger win means increasing the division lead over one of those teams. No lead is big enough.
lbirken ~ I saw it and was hoping Park would give up the lead.
Anybody watching the Fox game in Philly? I wonder what that jerk Philly fan that gets on here has to say about that?
Great lineup by the way Josh!!!
lbirken – I am in a time warp again.
Since I got screw benching Cain at Coors playing the odd the Giants must lost tonight.
I’m in a time warp again. I love reading your mind, lbirken π
Somebody in the Philadelphia crowd is shining a light, a pointer or something like it, in Lugo’s and then Pujol’s eyes when they were at bat. I wonder how that wimp rationalizes that.
knouffbrock, check the last post on the previous thread.
Shad ~ Somebody blasted a laser light on Lugo when he was at bat (he said it was the second time). Just about chest high. Lucky he wasn’t hit in the eye with it. Shows what classless fans the Phillies have!
Damn, I hate this time warp!
Wow did I just hear a fan at CBP had a laser pointer at the game? It look like Cards/Phillies fans are pissed.
Wow you gotta to love when you steal 3rd uncontested when the batter get a walk.
I actually dislike them more than the Giants, and it is too bad because they have some very nice players, but some of their fans can be real asssholes, and it kind of ruins the team.
GO CARDINALS!!!!!! I guess we won’t be saying that in a few days, will we? LOL!!!!!
It worked π
I think Randy Wolf looks a lot like Ron Howard.
Sigh freaking time warp.
Damn freaking bandbox I want the Cards to win.
I knew Phillies fan were the worst and was it these same fans that threw snowballs, batteries and Santa?
I thought I was the only one that thought that to blue4blue.
You can added Condrey to that listed of Phillly relievers lol.
Forgot the Giants/Rockies game started and the Giants are losing 3-0 top of the 5th.
So, messagebear – How do you think we should use the bullwhip tonight?
Hi Everybody
Tonight I’m rooting for the Rockies to beat the Giants, because I’d rather they get into the postseason than the Giants.
I’m also anti Cardinal.
I hope Kuroda can be at least as good as he was his last time out and maybe even better.
I’ll miss at least the start of tomorrow’s game and most likely most of the game, too bad because I would’ve really like to see Schmidt’s second start.
Meanwhile LET”S GO YA BUMS
OK, it’s about time that Kuroda started earning his money. If you don’t go at least seven tonight and blow away the fish, it may be time to take you to the woodshed, and, guess what, we now have a couple of bullwhips there since Nelly suggested it. Have your translator translate that, Hiroki!
O yes, I thought that was Randy Wolf he looks very much like this actor Ian Ziering.
Probably because I’ve never seen this guy before, I at first thought it was Wolf with and without a shave.
Oh Well I just don’t have time to watch T.V.
B4B~I see some similarity between Randy & Ian, but I always thought he looks more like a younger version of “Opie Cunningham” – aka a younger Ron Howard when he had more hair.
I hope Kuroda’s bringing his ‘A’ game tonight.
GO DODGERS!!!
Good evening everybody….
.
LETS GO DODGERS, LETS GO!!!!!
Hi, everyone ~ let’s have a great game tonight, Dodgers!
I hate infield single to the pitcher come on Kuroda.
I’m so tired of this.
Way to go Raffy!
Posting tonight is not going to be much fun with this time warp I’m in……….way to go Orlando!
vl4, Wolf does look a bit like Ron Howard in his younger days. Nelly, I read your post on the previous thread and I was saying the same thing to a friend of mine that’s a Dodger fan that it seems like Andre is kicking his leg up more when he swings lately. Not sure if it’s a coincidence, but he’s really been locked in since the yoga session at Dodger Stadium last Saturday. I know it really helps with my stress when I go to yoga and today was the first day I’ve been able to go in a while because I’ve been working late a lote lately. Maybe he should do it more often during the regular season.
Already tied up with 2 batters
Yep and bcg posted was ahead of my 2 posted
Well at least Kuroda got 2 Ks, maybe I should say at most.
Fabulous at-bat Andre!!!!! Nice job Raffy and O-Dog!!!
ODOG OOOH DORG
bluecrewgirl – I don’t know the first thing about Yoga, but something is working for Andre. Even his outs lately have been good at-bats, which is wonderful to see.
Good at bat Andre!
Wow I thought the Indians suck they beat a good Mariners team twice.
I agree, he’s having the kind of at bats we’ve come to expect from him and still hitting for power too. He looks much more relaxed and is trusting in that textbook swing at the plate.
Oh yes Casey Blake the Rally Killer. I’m getting so sick of watching him struggle in key situations. It would have been nice to see Matt Kemp up in that situation but that just makes too much ******* sense.
Only one run but they made VandenHurk work, I just hope he doesn’t settle down.
I guess it time for Blake to bat 8th again and we never had this problem when he was over .300 and we wanted him to move up in the order.
Blake back in the 8th hole.
Martin should’ve take that 3-1 pitch.
Not bad 5 Ks in two innings, so far Kuroda looks good.
bluecrewgirl – exactly!! He is trusting what he knows while still hitting for power. I was reading an article today that talked about the manager from Seattle, and how he knew Andre when he was 12 years old playing in Arizona. He said he knew then he had the talent to make it to the majors. He also commented on his 3 HR game he had against them, and he said what was amazing is each of his three homeruns was hit off of a different pitcher, which showed great discipline.
I still think Santana going to be a stud to bad we let him go. All this talk about Martin getting traded this is why we need to keep him.
Blake is just having a tough stretch lately. He’ll come around. No one can stay red hot throughout a season. I’m not forgetting all the offensive spark he brought during Manny’s absence. Look how pathetic Furcal was till just a short time ago. Hudson cooled off quite a bit too. I just hope Martin improves. Talk about ICE COLD!
Casey should have never been moved from the 8 spot. He’s an extremely streaky hitter and he’s was on pace this year to have a career year at the age of 36. His hot streak obviously wasn’t going to last because 36 year olds don’t have career years. Joe bats him 4th, 5th, or 6th because he’s a “veteran” and gives the team “quality at bats” which should be called “quality outs”….Speaking of Blake, how nice would it be right now to still have Carlos Santana in our system. He would have been a great centerpiece in a deal for Roy Halladay. Instead we shipped him to Cleveland because Frank didn’t want to pay Blake 2 million dollars.
Keep it up Kuroda
Kuroda owning Hanley ai far.
ai = so
Kuroda looks good.
I think these games against the Marlins, Cardinals and Braves will give us a pretty good idea how far the Dodgers can go this year.
This is why Kemp do need to be move up over Blake.
http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs.aspx?playerid=5631&position=OF&page=7&type=full
A-N-D-R-E-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So much for working the count that inning
You know his last 5 at bats, Andre has gotten on base, including 3 2Bs, and nobody has knocked him in yet.
Too bad dre got stranded…thanks for the “quality at bat” though casey.
So Casey has 3 home runs since June 3rd…Matt Kemp has 7 with a .324 batting average to boot. But what do I or anyone of us know as Ned said Thats why we’re on the internet. Of course most of us on here knew Juan Pierre would be a horrible signing and guess what Ned?? HE WAS!
Nelly, thats because Casey Blake bats behind him!
Thanks, All Star catcher!
I so wish you’d be heading up to Canada – I don’t much care who we get back for you. You miserable sh**!
Just turned the game on. Bad error by Martin, should have been the third out. At least I didn’t miss all the runs the Dodgers are GOING to score.
Bring out the whip messagebear!!!!!
Vin just had to find a way to get JP mentioned in the game.
aeversw – maybe it’s payback for Andre for all those times he left guys stranded π
Crap!
LETS GO DODGERS, LETS GO
LETS GO DODGERS, LETS GO
LETS GO DODGERS, LETS GO
HAPPY BIRTHDAY G MOTA!!!!!
I hear you messagebear…Russ can never thrown the ball right to second. He only makes a good thrown when he gets lucky. Even if he made a accurate throw and Cantu was safe the run wouldn’t have scored because they wouldn’t have ran on bison.
Kuroda is doing his job so far, couldn’t ask for much more than 8 Ks in 4 innings.
Hope we haven’t lost the chance to get to VandenHurk.
Of course if Russ would have made an accurate throw Cantu would have been out by 5 feet.
Wow horrible. James Loney is the slowest guy on the field and joe hits and runs with him. Does he watch the same games we do every night?
and now Matty comes up with no one on and will get crappy pitches to hit because the pitcher is behind him.
truebluewill ~ we hve been saying that for quite some time now but Joe won’t listen to us! lol
9 K’s through 5…:)
.
COME ON BOY’S, LETS GET SOME RUNS!!!!!
My time warp is back!
Alright Hiroki!!!! Somebody has got to help you, it might as well be you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY G.MOTA
Hope Russell doesn’t get too down on himself.
Nice 5 innings by Kuroda.
Comon’ Dodgers break the spell of VandenHurk.
I think it’s time to move Kemp up to bat fifth and slide everyone else down one.
Raffy – not good π¦
Good Job O-Dog!!!!
I was surprised to hear Mota is 36. Not that he’s old, but time goes by so fast.
Let’s go Manny, we need you NOW
Damn, we can’t do anything against this guy.
Uggh!!!
I forgot about Mota bday to.
Mota’s old he’s more than half my age.
Just give up russ. You can’t throw anyone out. You’re more likely to make an error then make an out. Carlos Santana where are you?!?! O yeah in Cleveland.
Good start DRE! now let’s bust out!!
It would be great to see Casey come through this at bat.
They’re running all over Kuroda & Martin, and it’s paying off.
Well Russ’s bad arm has cost us 2 runs tonight…Im sure if Joe gets asked if he’s concerned about Russ’ inability to throw someone out Joe will say he isn’t because Joe doesn’t pay attention to the game. He’s too busy thinking about New York.
Kuo’s Birthday was Thursday. He is now 28, and Chad’s birthday is this coming Wednesday (29th). He will be 25.
Work the walk if you have to blake
At least we found out Manny can throw it to home plate. We can’t say the same thing about his replacement.
I would love to see the time Ethier got getting to 1st.
That’s Loney’s biggest problem. Poor base running!
Well, no one will be able to accuse Martin of tailing off in September………
Nice we got this
Andre is 13 for his last 22 at bats, with 3 BB. That’s a .591 batting average.
Kuroda still looks good, I’d say they’re just outplaying us.
Maybe Mota can get a win on his birthday.
Nice hit by Loney, but I hate it when we give up outs on the base paths.
Damn Loney should’ve had
Damn Loney should’ve had done that.
Way to come through Russell!
Start cracking that whip messagebear.
Maybe the pitching change will help.
Come on Martin a sac fly would be nice
Russ finally delivers! The infield being in sure helped!
Good hit by L O N E Y
but the Dodgers are going to school.
Should be 3-1 in our favor if it wasn’t for Martin and boy I hate giving out.
O.K. R U S S E L L
I hope they get these base runner blunder out of the way soon no need to mess up in the playoff.
Way to go James!!! Oops, getting thrown out not good!
Go Dewitttttttttttt
Did you really think Kuroda going to be out there again?
Hope Torre made the right move taking Kuroda out.
I wouldn’t of.
Yes, Russ!!!!
kahli ~ I’m thinking along the same line. This 20 game stretch is going to be a helluva grind, especially on the bullpen.
Joe, please let Kuroda start the 7th. Your bullpen is going to implode. In a stretch of 20 games in the 20 days. Kuroda rested for two months. Joe? JOE?????
Come on bullpen, lets bounce back and throw up some zeros.
A brand new game.
This time warping is NUTS!
AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
So much for that, Kahli!
ok it the bday boy
Get your Birthday gift MOTA.
Joe’s current flavor of the month, Mota, will end up on the DL with the rest of them. Joe, you are one myopic Magoo. The BP guys will look like old, beaten down nags frothing at the mouth come late September.
At least they tied it. Hopefully, the bp can come through tonight.
Put another candle on his birthday cake! Good job, Mota.
Kalhi – You are talking about Joe.
I wouldn’t have taken Kuroda out either. He was crusing and Blake Dewitt wasn’t going to be difference in the game with 2 outs and a runner on first. Joe’s going to burn through the pen..
Let’s go Birthday Boy!!!!!
It still hard to believe that Mota was crap in the first 2 months of the season.
Awesome Andre does it again π
If Kuroda gave up 3 hits than we would hear the same story all of again.
Good job MOTA bay–be.
Joe and Tony (Cardinals) are cut from the same mold……Tony just had to take his pitcher out today too and ending up getting blown out! Six pitchers through 7 innings, not good baseball to me. I think Tony is the most over-rated manager in baseball.
Martin should’ve took that 3-1 pitch
….and what were you saying aeversw?
Scott Stapp sucks I had to mute the TV. Please stop God Bless America during the 7th inning if you are going to have horrible singers butcher it. Nancy Bea Hefley is all we need. Also, the Dodgers didn’t even do God Bless America during the 7th inning until, surprise, Obama was elected. So obviously McCourt started it in support of Obama and not the country.
Geez now it posted my last post 1 hrs ago.
C’mon Andre!!!
Nice inning by Mota. Top of the lineup coming up, come on Dodgers bust out!
Yep and Tony hasn’t use his bullpen more than us.
WTG, Dre!
“Man-Dre”!!!!!
Lets go go go Casey
WTG Dre first pitch single.
Ethier is hot, to say the least.
What is Casey swinging at that better be strike
Andre is a “hottie”! lol
Evening everyone!
Let’s see there this one shows up. It’s 9:54.
oops a strike
Casey Blake leaves more guys stranded. Joe is a genius.
trumom, you are SO right π
Well, I’m not in a warp, but there’s 8 posts after mine.
********JOSH********
Can you get someone to fix this time warp problem? It’s virtually impossible to have conversations when people are posting 7-8 minutes apart.
Ethier is hot
But Blake is not.
Casey Blake leaves more guys stranded. Joe is a genius.
Ok one more nice innings Mota.
Andre is 14 for his last 23 at-bats, and his 6 for 7, with a walk for this series so far. I think it is safe to say he is no longer slumpy.
BOY!!! The Puds are getting pounded by the Nats!
I’ve lost MLB.TV right after Bonifacio fouled out to Russell in the top of the 8th.
Score was 3-3, anything new.
Agreed, Nelly. The slump torch has been passed onto to Blake. It must be tough on a player to go through those times.
LETS GO DODGERS, LETS GO
LETS GO DODGERS, LETS GO
LETS GO DODGERS, LETS GO
Damn he just have to give up a walk.
O.K. I got it on regular MLB.TV
Scully feed .
Good Evening Ward Dear. I didn’t see you come in. You must have come in through the time warp machine again.
Mota has now have a 3 ERA.
I did too, Shad. I do have gameday, though.
I didn’t miss much.
I hope someday they improve this MLB.TV thing.
At least that’s all I got.
However, dodgereric, my computer clock is saying 10:01, and the post I just saying good evening says 10:06.
I meant to say that Mota has a very nice ERA if 3.
red pen – the whole sentence is screwed up. …………should say “where I said good evening” – sorry. This might be an indication it is time to go back to school.
*of*
WTF? I lost the KABC audio feed, and the gameday is acting up.
Urgh sigh
Let’s go Broxton.
oldbrooklynfan, my MLB.tv cut out. I missed the bottom of the 7th and most of the top of the 8th. now I can only get the Marlin feed. What about you?
I’m getting the L.A. feed here. No radio, though.
PP stinks!
Get that dodgers killer
Manny is a better defensive player than I gave him credit for before he came to the Dodgers.
Fabulous pitching Jonathan!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bet PP is coming in to PH.
Nice work from Big Jon!
Time for some walk off drama!!!
I’m getting the Dodger feed from the scoreboard MLB.TV
Ok the Dodger feed is back. Lets win it now!
told ya!!!
Was it obvisiously?
Nice try Juan, but you can go sit back down on the bench now. Thank you π
Alright Raffy!!!!
Beautiful bunt Raffy!! Maury would be proud!
lol deep center did that ball have a chance of going out?
Nice one Furky
This is a great story that I never heard before. It’s about Jim Rice saving a kids’ life 27 years ago at Fenway after he was struck in the head with a foul ball.
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/hof09/columns/story?columnist=garber_greg&id=4353486
Well, now I’m time warping too! C’mon Manny!
WTG Odog do they ibb Manny on purpose i see strange thing happen
I won’t mention something in fear I’ll jinx something.
Are we ready for more Manny dramatics? YES!!!
Good to see Odog get out of his slump also.
USE you’re EYES Casey.
Me to damn why did I do that lol
C A S E Y FINALLY
Ouch
Don’t do it Andre! Torre will just bench you tomorrow!
They were’n’t going to give Andre anything good to hit on that at bat. C’mon, Casey!
lol like we didn’t know that.
OMG did Blake come throught?
It’ll look like a line drive in the box score!
Blake delivers!!!
We know drama!
Rubber game tomorrow.
Blake walk off single
The other bobblehead……Way to Go Dodgers!!!!
B E A U T I F U L ! I’ll take a dunker anytime!
Oh man if Blake wouldn’t had came thru than aeversw would be complaining so more.
Oh man if Blake wouldn’t had came thru than aeversw would be complaining so more.
They say three times is a charm. I am now stuck in an “submission error” war. I think this is worse than the time warp issue.
Anyhow – another fabulous come from behind win. Our pitching was awesome tonight, and everybody helping to get it done tonight.
Andre is just rockin’ right now. It is really good to see.
shad – ODog is hitting .412 now since the game before the All-Star game. You’re right, it IS good to see him hitting well again.
Dodgereric – PP is due for a start, don’t you think? Joe doesn’t want him to get rusty sitting on that bench.
Nice win by the Dodgers tonight. It would be great to win the series tomorrow and finish a 7-3 home stand.
After all the complaining we do to Martin but did anyone even check his number this month?
shad I know Martin is hitting .311 in July but with one extra base hit. A HR.
Casey’s walkoff is a perfect example of why the Dodgers are the best TEAM in the game.
It sure would be, tbwill! Especially with Schmidt going for us. Every win from him is like found money.
I just looked who’s pitching against us tomorrow. Is everyone on their starting staff huge? Yesterday’s starter was 6’7″, tonight’s was 6’5″. This Chris Volstad character is 6’8″.
Even though our lead is 9 games over the Rockies it’s nice to see the Giants back by double figures. 10 games.
They sure are fun to watch when they have moments like those walk-offs. Many were talking about what makes baseball unique, and this might be one of those things. There aren’t too many sports where each game is treated like it’s their last. This team just looks like they are actually having fun out there at times.
Well dodgereric the bigger they are the harder they fall.
To bad they don’t have Randy Johnson, Jon Rauch or even Mark Hendrickson .
Good night all. Dream of Dodger wins.
hahahahaha they were showing some WNBA all stars game replay and Syliva Fowles had a crowd-pleasing dunk with 15 seconds left. The teams cleared the way for her with about 30 seconds to go but she missed her first attempt.
βSue (Bird) looked at me with these big eyes like, βAre you ready to do it? Are you ready to do it?β and Iβm like, βYeah, yeah, yeah!ββ the 6-foot-6 Chicago Sky star said. βI was excited about it that I had a chance to do it in front of the fans and let them see that I can actually dunk.β
Good Night Trubluewill!!!! Let’s hope the big guy falls tomorrow………….meaning Volstad, of course.
Thanks for the link to the story on Rice Eric π
.
It was a wonderful read…
.
Congratulations to Jim Rice, Rickey Henderson and the late Joe Gordon on bieng selected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
.
Good Night and God Bless everyone
.
GO DODGERS!!!
BRING THE RING TO L.A. IN 2009!!!!!
KEEP ON TRUCKING
WAY TO BATTLE BOY’S!!!!
That “Psycho” Steve Lyons should check his facts before he talks. He just said that all of Broxton’s wins were “legit” wins, not because he blew the save and got the win when we come back. Steve – sorry to tell you that 2 of his 7 wins were exactly that – blown saves. April 28th and May 14.
Goodnight tbwill and hello D4!!! Did I see that you went to a state fair?
Good Night Dodgerlife!!!!
Yeah both of them were in the 8th innings
No, he went to the same fair I did π
Hello Eric…. We all went ( Nelly, and her family…Jane and her family, Jason and his family~Nelly’s brother and Nancy Nelly’s sister and her daughter, and I had a wonderful time last night. It was a nice little fairgrounds and Jane was nice enough to treat us to funnel cake, which was a first for me.
I was pleasantly surprised….:-)
.
How are you???
Sorry Eric… Merced County Fair I think???
hmmmmmmmm
NOTES: Guillermo Mota(notes) pitched two hitless innings of relief for Los Angeles on his 36th birthday. He has thrown 19 consecutive scoreless innings in his last 15 appearances since June 24. β¦ Kuroda got his first hit of the season in the fifth inning. β¦ During the 51st annual Hollywood Stars celebrity softball game, actor Rob Lowe charged the mound and tackled pitcher Dave Annable, his co-star on βBrothers & Sisters.β No actors were harmed in the ensuing bench-clearing brawl. Sugar Shane Mosley and Tom Arnold were co-MVPs.
Actually shad, the second one he came in for the ninth. It was in Philly, we had a 2-run lead going to the bottom of the ninth and he allowed the Phils to tie the game. We scored twice in the 10th and Troncoso pitched the 10th and got the save.
I did not do funnel cake. I stuck to stick food – a corn dog and a frozen banana π
I’m well D4. But now I want some funnel cake! LOL!! That’s a nice family, isn’t it?
Junie, what about cotton candy?
They have been exceptionally nice to me and everyone else around them Eric. I cant thank them enough. I hear you get to have breakfast with them in the morning π
I do have cotton candy sometimes or sometimes we take it home. Tru loves cotton candy!! I rather spend the 5 bucks at the NASCAR Cafe π
……….and your family is pretty remarkable themselves dodgereric.
Yep! Still shooting for 10 Junie? I have my DVR all set to record the race for me.
GO JEFF GORDON!!!!!!!#24
.
CONQUER THE FIElD AT THE BRICKYARD!!!!!!
Oh yeah I found it and that was the double to Ruiz and the same game Troncoso got a save for it.
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=290514122
10 it is Dodgereric. Well, it’s a long race so hopefully you will be home to watch the, sure to be amazing, conclusion.
Good Night again all, Nelly and Eric drive safe and get some rest and relaxation this week…. Have fun π
No………………………….GO DENNY HAMLIN!!!!! LOL!!!!!
Good Night again Dodger4life – Take Care and I will keep in touch. Just think……………you will have a whole week of just Dodger baseball. No sharing with gnat fans π
That’s the one shad! Both coming so early in the season at the time I was remembering Phil “The Vulture” Regan who got himself a lot of wins that way.
I’ll probably just let the DVR save it and watch it after the Dodger game.
Goodnight D4! I’m afraid I’ll be cheering for the car that he “owns” instead.
Speaking of which, I think I’ll hit the rack. God Bless you all!
Good Night Ward Dear. I will see you in about 10 hours. That’s right!! A day game tomorrow π Take Care and God Bless to you and yours.
Good Night and take care to you too Shad. I am going to bed since I have to be up in about 4 and a half hours.
Ok GN Nelly
Loretta vs Young PH’s this year.
Loretta 9/39 with the Dodgers.
Young 10/30 with the Pirates.
Last year.
Loretta 11/30 with the Astros.
Young 14/48 with the Dodgers.
Career PH.
Loretta 37 yrs old 41/158.
Young 27 yrs old 28/93.
Sweeney 2007 was 24/76 with SF/LA and last year 12/78 and something is wrong. Why is it that everytime someone that use to be good as a PH the prior year with a different team and once they change uniform and play for us they seems to always suck for us?
What a great game last night. Too bad I missed the end of it….bottom of the 9th, Manny up, and I lose both my mlb.tv audio & video! I was livid! Didn’t get to see or hear Casey’s game winning hit!
That’s too bad tb4ever. I lost mine in the 7th, but was able to get it back by 9th. When that happens I usually restart my computer and it comes back. Just curious where do you live?
tbwill ~ I live in California and I usually do start my computer over too but it was the bottom of the 9th and figured it would be over by the time I got back to the game. NellyJune is my daughter. I believe you live in New York. I was born in Brooklyn but left at a very young age. I still have cousins who live there but have lost touch with them over the years.
Still no Halladay. No Lee. Not even a Washburn. No reliever(s).
NedCo – Increase success by lowering expectationsβ’
tb4 You must live far enough away from LA to be out of the MLB blackout zone. I do live in NY. I spent my whole life in Manhattan. I became a Dodger fan when I was very young (3-4) and they were still in Bklyn. I’ve been a fan ever since.
tbwill ~ me too! I’ve been a fan since the Brooklyn days.
.
BPB ~ I really think we will get Halladay. If you can believe what you read. I do remember we all thought we were getting CC last year, too! lol
That’s why I don’t read the rumor stories Tru. I’ll believe something when I see it.
Hope that little bloop gets Blake going again. Why is it though that he never needs a day off but Loney does? I assume we’ll see both JP in center and Castro at short today. Nice way to back-up Schmidt.
JP of course is nothing but a wad on the bottom of a shoe who had a great 20-game run and will ride that wave through the next 2+ years. God I hope they don’t resign JoJo to manage beyond next year or will see JP far more than any other team would put up with, all at the expense of better producing players. JP will get his one hit today and promptly get thrown out trying to steal I’m sure.
BPB ~ All of the media guys think the Phillies will get Halladay which makes me think they probably won’t. I think we will get somebody, could be Washburn, but JoJo wants a pitcher and JoJo gets what h wants. I wish Joe would leave the starter in today to help Schmidt out as much as we can but, we all know JoJo will probably put in PP as you said.
I guess I shouldn’t concern myself Tru. Afterall, Estes and Maddux aren’t doing anything right now. I’m sure Ned still has their numbers…
I’m going to lay this pitching issue squarely on Frank rather than Ned. Joe wanted pitching before the season started – what did he get. Wolf and then a lot of has-beens; all of whom have had a chance to start, except for Vargas so far, and he’ll probably get his chance before the season is over. Overpowering, isn’t it? Frank was obsessed with getting Manny, because that served his promotional schemes. A good starting pitcher will cost some real money, and it only translates into playoff success, not necessarily getting Dodger Stadium filled for all the remaining games of the season. Frank is basically CHEAP, or else we would still have Meloan and Sanchez on our farm. If we were to get Halladay, I dread to think what we’d give away because Frank won’t want to pay his salary. Just a CHEAP, overextended real estate ***** is what we have for an owner, so Joe and his need for a premium front line pitcher can go suck.
Incidentally T. Abreu seems to be coming back into form down in ABQ after starting the season in AA. I would favor bringing him up as a reserve in place of DeWitt. I think DeWitt will be all right, if he isn’t traded, once somebody designs a development plan for him instead of having him on a constant flight between ABQ and LA either coming or going.
Can you really blame McCourt for being cheap after all the money he gave to Pierre, Schmidt and Jones?
I see Schmidt is 8-0 hopefully he can make it 9-0.
I usually ignore what that phan has to say, I mean, who cares what the people in Philly think? But I was watching the Fox game and somebody with a laser pointer was disrupting some of the Cardinal’s at bats, so I was wondering what that meatball had to say about his wonderful town now?
This morning I was looking at the Cardinal site, and according to an article there, the same has happened in LA and a couple of other cities. I would hope our fans had a little more class than that. Hopefully, anyone sitting around someone pulling that stunt would help get them ejected.
Isn’t Maddux the Padres pitching coach?
Shad, According to the roster on the Padre site their pitching coach is Darren Balsley. Greg Maddux is retired and I don’t he’s doing any coaching. His brother and ex-dodger Mike is the pitching coach for the Texas Rangers.
