Manny goes deep…

Manny just homered on a 1-0 pitch here in Lake Elsinore to start the game. I'm pretty sure that's his first career leadoff homer.

Why should we get excited that Manny hit a homerun off a 1-A pitcher? In the desert? With the wind blowing out?

OK, I made the last one up.

  2. enchantedbeaver

Felix threw 60 pitches thru three innings, and these ******** let him out of the 4th on 10 pitches.

  3. enchantedbeaver

    JP’s been up 3 times – he’s seen 7 friggin pitches.

Whatcha need a dollar for.? Dad’s only giving me 50 cents a week,

  4. perumike

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but there is a photo album on the homepage from today’s tour. My wife and I appear in three of them, along with others like joepierre, nellyjune, and many others. We also took a group pic on the dugout stairs.

Gee Beav, that girl that used to have on the Nurse uniform wants a dollar. Help me out Beav!!! Dad’s holding out on us.

  6. perumike

It was great enchanted, hopefully we do this again next year and get you guys out here! I’m sure June (aka Mom) is watching the game right now, and wouldn’t approve of some of these activities with women in nurse’s uniforms. 🙂 It was great meeting her and hanging out for a while!

  7. perumike

Yeah enchanted! However, I would be thrilled if they saw a walkoff game, especially thrilled for Joe Pierre!

Hey Josh, just wanted to take a second to thank you for the absolutely awesome tour today, for taking time out of your schedule to be with us, and for getting Joe Pierre out here! It was great to meet you, and now have a person to put with the posts. Hope to see you again soon, and hopefully this can happen as a yearly event so some more of our remote members can participate. Thanks again for the tour, and all you do. –Mike

They just ran into a hot young pitcher tonight. This Hernandez kid’s got a bright future ahead of him for sure.

  10. enchantedbeaver

What’s the point of having Leach warm-up and come in? Game’s over, let Mota finish it out.

  11. vl4ecc

DAMN! Dre missed it by that much!
As well as Kuroda pitched in his last start, I have a good feeling about the next game.

  12. enchantedbeaver

Well that game was certainly a snoozer. Can’t say I ever expect to win though when Milton starts.

Thanks Josh for putting the ITD Tour together. It was great to go to places that most fans do not even know exist.
I had the pleasure of watching the game while sitting next to oldbrooklynfan (Joe) and sharing stories of the Dodgers, old and new. Thank you Emma for making that possible.
A special treat was when Frank McCourt came and sat on the steps next to Joe and spent about ten minutes chatting with him and making sure that all of his needs were being taken care of.

Boys, boys, boys………..I knew we shouldn’t have left you home alone. Just wait until your father gets home!!

Just came back not too long ago as I have a good friend that needed someone to talk to. Wow 1:38 AM already. Happy birthday to me!

I had a nice semi-long post, and I lost it in the blogosphere somewhere. Anyhow, now that I am done with the Cleaver boys……..

Josh – This was just a remarkable thing you did, and yes, Perumike initially brought up the tour on ITD, and Dodgereric sparked the idea of getting Joe Pierre out here for the tour, but you took the ideas and did something about it. You deserve a very huge thank you on a job very well done. I know Frank deserves a huge thank you too (He did a wonderful thing) , but he would have never known about the idea if it wasn’t for you. Also, thank Dustin as well. He was awesome, from the initially e-mails to today’s Tour and game. Juan Ocampo ~ Fabulous job on the photo gallery.

As for the game, it wasn’t the outcome we would’ve liked, but for those of us who don’t get to Dodger Stadium too often, it’s always a treat just being there.

It was great meeting those of you I met for the first time today, and it was equally as fun seeing those of you I have met before, once again.

The only thing missing from the tour and/or the game was the ITD bloggers who couldn’t make it, who many of us would have loved to see out there. I here this may become an annual thing, and hopefully that those that need to make major travel arrangements, can have plenty of time to plan.

There is plenty more to say, but I have typed this twice, and I am tired and need to get some sleep.

Good Night and Take Care ITD readers and writers!!!!

    Belisario Arrested DUI!

I dont understand, Belisario says he got pull over for talking on the phone (that is a ticket), then he was tested for DUI and he passed? I dont understand, if he passed why LA times claims he was arrested?

    Per LA TIMES:

Dodgers reliever Ronald Belisario was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol early Saturday after being stopped by the California Highway Patrol near his Pasadena apartment.

He was taken to the Pasadena Police Department and later released on unspecified bail. He reported to Dodger Stadium as usual Saturday afternoon.

Officers stopped Belisario at 2:27 a.m. on Fair Oaks Avenue south of Colorado Boulevard after observing him talking on his cellphone, according to CHP officer Francisco Villalobos. Officers then observed symptoms of possible alcohol intoxication and placed Belisario under arrest.

Belisario said he was coming home from dinner when he was pulled over and dismissed the incident as “nothing.”

“I was driving to my apartment, talking on the telephone and they stopped me,” Belisario said in Spanish. “Then they gave me the alcohol test and it was normal. They gave me a paper, said everything was normal. . . . Everything’s fine.”

Belisario did not specify what kind of sobriety test was administered and Villalobos said he did not have that information. General Manager Ned Colletti said he was unaware of the arrest.

Last night’s outcome, much as we don’t like it, was nothing more than a very good pitcher being on his game and wiping us up for the night. Hernandez is an undisputed All-Star type of a guy, young but matured, and he was in his best form last night. More disconcerting to me was Milton’s showing. It may be just that he’s rusty coming back off DL, but with a fast ball around 86 and his other selected junk, I don’t see him as anything but a mediocre 5 inning 5th starter. We haven’t had much success with those in the past, and Milton doesn’t promise much different.

Let’s go out and win one with Kuroda today. If there’s something to laugh about in last night’s performance, it was the TV announcers creaming all over themselves about what a great player JP is, when he showed absolutely nothing. Great to look forward to him replacing Matt or Andre twice a week. As I mentioned before, why isn’t Manny in that formula for getting a day off now and then – what has he done the last two months in team performance to exempt him from the JP replacement.

  20. enchantedbeaver

JP was at his slappy best last night, that’s for sure.

Had they stayed the course, they might’ve had Felix out of there after 6 – he threw 60 pitches through 3 innings, but Slappy saw all of 9 pitches in 4 ABs. Not that the rest of them didn’t join in themselves hacking at everything after the 3rd, but 9 pitches for the night is pathetic. Yes Joe, JP is really Mr. Professional Hitter.

Leaders – NL % Inherited Runners Scored
    9t Ramon Troncoso LAD 15.0 ( 3/20 )
    14 Brent Leach LAD 18.8 ( 3/16 )
    19t Ronald Belisario LAD 22.7 ( 5/22 )

Maybe Eric can find that Mota stats.

  22. nellyjune

Good Morning!! Obviously, I was at the game, but nobody deserved credit for anything ( most of them sucked last night in their own way), but if the broadcasters were giving JP praise something is very wrong with that. I was counting those pitches too, and it’s because of the fact that nobody deserved praise last night, except for the few that did get on base last night. It was just a well pitched game by the opponent, but to give JP credit for swinging at 9 pitches in his 4 at-bats is just pathetic.
