It's do-or-die time…

We need everyone’s support tonight. A win this evening would give us awesome momentum heading to Philadelphia, so if you’re coming out to the stadium, be loud. Steve Garvey was telling our office yesterday about the “10th man” and the role that you all played in helping us win three straight against Houston in October 1980.

It’s going to be a powerful night here, with everyone on their feet every time we get two strikes on a batter…and any key point in the game. I know you all know this, but it’s up to you guys to get everyone else up out of their seats.

Here’s tonight’s lineup, with more notes below…I fully expect to be posting another lineup in two days:

Furcal, SS

Ethier, RF

Manny, LF

Martin, C

Loney, 1B

Blake, 3B

Kemp, CF

DeWitt, 2B

Billingsley, P

THEY’VE BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT – Since the LCS became a seven-game series in 1985, 26 teams have taken a 3-1 advantage and six times, the team that trailed has come back to win – the 1996 Braves (with Greg Maddux), the 2003 Marlins (with Juan Pierre), the 1986, 2004, and 2007 Red Sox (with the latter two teams featuring Derek Lowe in ’04 and Manny Ramirez in both series), and the 1985 Royals.

► Five teams have overcome a 3-1 deficit in the postseason after losing Game 4 at home – the 1958 Yankees, the 1968 Tigers, and the 1979 Pirates all did it in the World Series, while the 1985 Royals and 2003 Marlins did it in the League Championship Series.                Source: retrosheet.org

IF AT FIRST – The Dodgers have scored in the first inning in four of their seven postseason games in 2008. In fact, the Dodgers are batting .330 in the first six innings of the LCS and just .111 from the seventh inning on.            Source: STATS, LLC

HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION – From 1995-2006, the Dodgers posted a 1-12 record over four postseason appearances. So far this year, Los Angeles is 4-3.

BUCKING THE TREND – The Dodgers and Phillies have played 12 times this season and Monday night marked the first game that was not won by the home team, with Philadelphia taking seven of the 12 games overall.

SEÑOR OCTUBRE – Manny Ramirez drove in a run in Game 4 for an eighth consecutive LCS game, extending his Major League record. He now has nine RBI during the 2008 postseason and 73 in his career, which ranks second all-time behind Bernie Williams (80). Ramirez has hit safely in 42 of his last 47 postseason games, with a .360 (63-for-175) average during that span.  His teams are 59-43 overall in the postseason.

► Ramirez is batting .500 (6-for-12) during this series. The Dodgers’ NLCS record for batting average (minimum 10 at-bats) is Dusty Baker, who hit .467 (7-for-15) during the 1978 NLCS vs. Philadelphia.

► Ramirez’s six RBI this series is two shy of the Dodger series record held by Baker in the 1977 series, also against Philadelphia.

IN A YEAR THAT HAS BEEN SO IMPROBABLE… – On this date in 1988, an injured Kirk Gibson hit a two-run homer with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning at Dodger Stadium to give Los Angeles a 4-3 victory in Game 1 of the World Series over Oakland. The homer was later voted the Top Moment in Los Angeles Sports History.

LONE-STAR – James Loney is batting .308 (8-for-26) during the postseason with eight RBI, the second-highest total on the team behind Manny Ramirez (9). Loney has at least one hit in all seven of his career postseason starts.

AN ELECTION YEAR – Tonight marks the final presidential debate between Senators Barack Obama and John McCain prior to the November election. Los Angeles has reached the postseason in four of the last six election years (1988, 1996, 2004, and 2008), including their last World Championship just 19 days before George H.W. Bush won the 1988 general election. The Dodgers have also appeared in the World Series in the election years of 1956, 1952, 1920, and 1916.

BILLS BACK ON THE BUMP – Chad Billingsley takes the mound tonight at Dodger Stadium, where he has not lost since July 8. Since then, the right-hander is 6-0 with a 1.60 ERA in seven starts at home.

WHEN IT COUNTS – During the 2008 postseason, the Dodgers are batting .286 (20-for-70) with runners in scoring position, .342 (13-for-38) with RISP and two outs and .455 (5-for-11) with the bases loaded.

TOUCHING HOME – Rafael Furcal has scored five runs so far during the NLCS, two shy of the club record for a League Championship Series held by Steve Sax, who scored seven times against the Mets during the 1988 NLCS.

THE FIRST PITCH – Tonight’s ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Hall of Fame Manager and Special Advisor to the Chairman Tommy Lasorda. Lasorda guided Los Angeles to four National League pennants, eight division titles and two World Championships during an extraordinary 20-year career as skipper.

Whoever wins tonight wins the NLCS
    .
Tonight the Phils throw their only really good starter — Cole Hamels.
    .
If Billz can outpitch him, then we get Kuroda against that doofus Brett Myers and Lowe on full rest against either Blanton or Moyer. I love both of those matchups.
    .
    GO BLUE!!

  3. dodgereric

That 6 for 26 that Josh mentioned for teams winning down 3-1 is a .231 batting average. Not Ty Cobb, but a long ways from Sweeney!!!

Billz, you gotta step up tonight. No slow starts!!! Mow ’em down!

  4. underboss

Thank you for posting the Dodgers line-up…if it’s not asking too much, could you please post the Phillies line-up when you have a chance?

Thanks for posting the great info!

    GO DODGERS!!

  5. colliethec

They were against it when they won those 2 in Arizona against Webb & Haren. If they can get by them they can get by what Philly has to offer!
    .

  6. dodgereric

Amen, dc!! That’s been one of my pet peeves for years.

    BABE RUTH IS DEAD!
    THROW STRIKES!

JOSH!! Make ’em replay Gibby’s homer tonight! The entire at-bat!!! Time it so it ends just before the umps come onto the field!! It would be AWESOME!!!

  7. vl4ecc

With this being the 20th anniversary of that historic blast, I’m sure they will be playing that clip on the big screen alot. It should certainly ignite the crowd!

  8. aeversw

I hope Billingsley just goes out there and pitches his game tonight. If he goes out there worrying about trying to throw inside because of the all this idiotic talk of him being a wuss then he’s going to get hammered. Bills game is on the outside corner. If he works there and does what he can we are going to win tonight. If he comes out there and trys to pitch outside his game to get the media off his back he’s not going to do well.

If we would have won game 2 there would be no talk about Bills being afraid to go inside. That just drivel.

  9. aeversw

I actually really don’t have much doubt in Billingsley. I think he’s going to keep us in the game tonight. It’s going to be up to the offense.

  10. aeversw

Russell is the key guy tonight I think. So far this series in the clean up spot he’s been horrible. He’s has his best numbers batting in the 2 spot. I think the lineup should be Furcal, Russ, Dre and then Manny. Anyways, if Russ has a good game tonight I think things will be looking good for us. If he doesn’t it will be a struggle.

  11. thinkingblue

    I Believe!
    .
This is the song that we will be hearing a lot tonight : VengaBoys”
    The Vengabus is coming
    And everybody’s jumping
    New York to San Fransisco
    An intercity disco
The wheels of steel are turning
    And traffic lights are burning
So if you like to party
Get on and move your body
    .
    GO DODGERS!

  12. dodgereric

I think Billz will be fine. The past is past and he’s had plenty of time to make his peace. But if Hamels throws behind someone’s head tonight, he better be ready to make it right this time. I still think he lost his concentration after Myers got his first hit. As Myers came to the plate in the second inning, the score was tied at 1 and there were two out. I contend that Billz may have thinking about decking him and decided not to. His first pitch was in the strike zone and Myers hit it to plate the go-ahead run. Before we knew it, it was 8 – 2. I think he felt really bad that he didn’t do what I consider to be his duty – pay Myers back.

We’ll find out if his mind’s right pretty quick. Luckily he has had someone like Maddux to talk to. I wonder if Lasorda talked to him as well? He was a pretty tough cocoanut in his day.

  13. trublu4ever

YES WE CAN!!! YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!! YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!
    We can do it………love my Dodgers…………love L.A. !!!!!
Nothing better than the ITD family!!!

  14. thinkingblue

I have a feeling our man Ethier will score big…who knows maybe Ethier and Martin will team up again!
    .
For those attending tonights game – have a blast – scream loud “GO DODGERS….WE BELIEVE!”

  15. sparkleplenty_1

Hi TruBlue – I feel the same about our ITD family as you. And as a result, I’ve written a song, so with abject apologies to Hele Reddy, here it is:
    .
We ITD bloggers love our team
Through wins and losses we always cheer and root them on
When others turn their backs and walk away
We can be counted on to stay
    .
Remember when Joe Torre came to town
And we were frightened by that clown?
Messing with the line-up, never knowing what to do
And trying to convince us that he’s bleeding Dodger Blue
    .
We ITD bloggers love our team
Through wins and losses we always cheer and root them on
And for all the times we’ve cried we always hoped
The odds were on our side
    .
So when this seasons’ end has come
And we bloggers are left to carry on
Then remembering victories will have to do
Our memories alone will get us through
Think about the days of Dodger Blue
    ITD bloggers ever true

  16. trublu4ever

I’m wondering if I should wear all my Dodger shirts tonight to bring them good luck…………nah, I’ll wait for game 7.!

  17. sparkleplenty_1

Thank you, thank you. I get very sentimental at the end of the season. This has been a memorable year, thanks to the play of the Dodgers and especially thanks to the bloggers here. BTW, I’d like to be the team historian under the new “ownership” – LOL.

  18. Padodgers@hotmail.com

Go Dodgers! Go for Broke. Line up is big mistake. Martin, according to Phillie writers is a no factor. And, so far they are right. Put Martin in at 8 batter. Take out Blake for this start which he did nothing against this guy in the first game and start Normar which is probably his last game in LA. We have nothing to lose. Start Kent. Can’t play – take him out.

  19. amyw27

I am soooo pumped up for this!!!!!!! Who cares being sick. This game is going to be soo much fun. Sara should be here any minuet and we are off to the Ravine!!!
    .
GO DODGERS!!!! GO BILLZ! IT’S YOUR NIGHT BABY~
    .
I hope everyone has a fantastic night watching this game.
    .
    I Love LA

  20. Padodgers@hotmail.com

Poor Judgement in Times! We have good pitching. No Brainer – Sign Manny. Wade may be the closer next year. The other night – he should not have been in the game. Where was Maddox – on vacation mode? MacDonald – sleeping?

  21. amyw27

thank you vl4 🙂 I am ready for action!!!!!
    .
good night. I will catch you all tomorrow with another chance to win this weekend!!!

  22. Padodgers@hotmail.com

Manuel out coached Torre the last game. We win tonight, because he is a quick learner of the game. We have to have the long ball as a threat to win this game. Kent needs to play – PERIOD.

  23. selltheteam

This is the right lineup and Joe needs to stick with it. This is the lineup that swept the Cubs. This is the lineup (plus Furcal, minus Berroa) that went 16-7 from Aug 30th thru Sep 24th to win the division.

  24. enchantedbeaver

I knew this would happen Joe. You leave super fabulous pinch hitter extrodinaire Sweeney off the post season line-up and now you have to pay the price for that hubris. Bad things befall the Dodgers on this inglorious of days when Batman Sweeney is watching from the clubhouse and not the dugout and can’t be the Penguin buster for this 2008 batcave-arific 50th anniversary season. Boo and hiss to let the Joker and Catwoman make a mockery of his fine career and you now deserve to go down in the annals of infamy along with the Riddler…

    and Val Kilmer.

  25. shad78

We know Padodgers. He should had stay with Lowe and if you going to let Kuo face one batter should had PH for him. Mcdonald should had been in for Wade their was no need for that after 33 pitches in 2 innings

  26. dodgereric

diggie, I, um, er, ah, ……… forgot what your old name was. I just know that you are one of the victims of the NameSnatchers.

  27. oldbrooklynfan

This afternoon I was sitting in a park thinking of that 1980 3 game winning steak to end the regular season, fantastic and what a team. Unfortunitely we lost the one game playoff the next day. Yes, those were the days and that team started out very simular to this one.
The one bright spot tonight is that Billingley is starting at home, I think this well help him.
All they have to do is think about today, just win today.
Every day will be like the 7th game.
Everyday is the last day and it’s win or go home.
    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

  28. junkyardjamie

Diggie is sparkleplenty – I knew that!!!!! I must have misunderstood what trublue was asking. I am all Ethieraholiced out from defending our players. Must have been an Ethieraholic moment, and wasn’t paying attention to what the question was. Sorry sparklyplenty and trublue.

I am heading home. Just a note. Some wonderful poster on Andre’s blog (monica) re-posted the song one of my students did for Andre. Even though he is being bombarded with Phillies fans, if he is reading the comments, there are a lot of wonderful, caring comments from many as well.

GO DODGER BLUE ~ WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
ETHIERAHOLIC AND DAMN PROUD OF IT!!!!!!!!

  29. Padodgers@hotmail.com

Manny’s back is getting sore. When gets a little help from his friends – it could be all over by inning 4. Oone way or another – this game is over by inning 5.
    I love these Dodgers!

  30. dodgereric

LOL!! I’ve got ICRWIDTYABOHAIAB. (I Can Remember What I Did Twenty Years Ago But One Hour Ago Is A Blank) It’s tough. No program, no support group.

Anyway, whoever you are, whatever you wanted is done.

    (I think)

  31. sparkleplenty_1

Thanks, Eric. Maybe someone who has been tracking the name changes could publish the “was – is” list, I think it’d eliminate the confusion.
    .
Almost time for Dodger baseball! Go team!!!

  32. selltheteam

Just about game time, so let’s get it started. Billz drillz Rollins. Dre, Manny, and Russ drill the ball over the wall.
    .
Let’s Get It Started, in here… (Apologies to Black Eyed Peas)
    .
And the phan’s mouth keep runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and
Runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and…
    .
In this context, there’s no disrespect, so, when I bust my rhyme, Billz drills the ribs.
We got five minutes for us to disconnect, from all intellect we change our names effect.
Obstacles are inefficient, follow your intuition, free your blue blood and break away from tradition.
Coz when we beat out, Billz is pullin’ it out.
You wouldn’t believe how he strikes them out.
Throw it till it’s thrown out.
Hit it till it’s hit out.
Shout out from north, west, east, south.
    .
Everybody, everybody, let’s get into hits.
    Get Cuervo.
Get it started, get it started, get it started.
Let’s get it started (ha), let’s get it started in here.
Let’s get it started (ha), let’s get it started in here.
Let’s get it started (ha), let’s get it started in here.
Let’s get it started (ha), let’s get it started in here.
    Yeah.
    .
Lose control, of body and bowels.
Don’t move too fast, Joe, just take it slow.
Let’s get ahead, just jump into it.
Y’all hear about it, the Dodgers will do it.
    Get started, get Cuervo.
You’ll want me body people will walk you through it.
Step by step, like you’re into new kid.
Inch by inch with the new solution.
    Transmit hits, with no delusion.
The feeling’s irresistible and that’s how we movin’.
    .
Everybody, everybody, let’s get into it.
    Get Cuervo.
Get it started, get it started, get it started.
Let’s get it started (ha), let’s get it started in here.

    Yeah.
    .
Runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and runnin runnin’ and…
    .
    C’mon y’all, lets get woohoo!

Come then now do not correct it, let’s get ignant let’s get hectic.
    .

    .
Runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’

  33. Padodgers@hotmail.com

I was wrong. Game over inning One. Bills is the new Bert Hotoon. His head is not screwed on. Not a big game pitcher at all. We need to sign Derel Lowe.

  34. junkyardjamie

My Loney has a first name,
    It’s J-A-M-E-S
My Loney has a second name,
    It’s L-O-N-E-Y
I love to watch him every day
And if you ask me why I’ll say
‘Cause James Loney has a way
    With H-I-T-T-I-N-G!

    By leefink and martinloneykemp

  35. bluecrewgirl

The Dodgers are going to have to step up the emotion if they are going to win this game. They seem really tentative, like they are playing back on their heels. Bills is not looking very good again. I still have hope though. It’s still early.

  36. vl4ecc

I still have faith, and believe! It’s still early. I really hope we won’t have to get to the point of needing divine intervention.

  37. colliethec

Only down by 3 folks. Lots of time left. I’d rather be up by 3 but Chad did his Bad Chad thing getting to 2 strikes and then nibbling.
    .
    Let’s Go Blue!!!

  38. bluecrewgirl

I think they took a lot of heat for being too aggressive in some of their at bats Monday, but now they look like they’re over compensating. Plenty of time left, but they need to be more aggressive than they are right now. If the pen can keep it close, we just need an explosive inning to get going. The Phillies had that type of inning on Monday, so why not us tonight?

  39. stizaza

well it look like they’re gonna make it quick and painless…..no fight, no patience, they look like they’re heading for a shutout

  40. colliethec

I love Ferk but he has really hurt us with his “D”.
    .
This is hindsight but I wonder if we shouldn’t of kept what we had all through September when we were winning.

  41. colliethec

True spit but that is in the past. Nothing can be done about that now other than to cheer harder for our boys! The season is still alive for us! It’s not over and we can do this!!!
    .
    Go Blue!!!!

  42. oldbrooklynfan

The Dodgers don’t look like they came to play so far in this game.
Raffy may have been hurt on Werth’s slide.

  43. Padodgers@hotmail.com

Game Over! Worst game I ever witnessed. What you don’t know – this game was over before it started. Bills can’t pitch in big games, Fucal should never have played- he is hurt again – and you will find out soon, Martin is a cry baby that bat has holes in it since August, and he and Eithier are the worst clean up hitters in Dodger history.
Kent and Normar should have started at 2nd and ss.
Torre knows this and let us down.

  44. colliethec

This is baseball, not basketball or football.
    .
    There isn’t any clock!
    .
We scored 5 in the first the other day there isn’t any reason we can’t score that many tonight!
    .
    Go Blue!!!!

  45. oldbrooklynfan

That was good to see the fans get behind them.
But it looks like every well hit ball is it to the wrong place at
    the wrong time.

  46. bluecrewgirl

PADodger, the only time you ever have anything positive to say is when the Dodgers are wiinning. Bills won a big game in Chicago. Regardless of whether this team wins or loses tonight, they have accomplished a lot this season and the young guys will learn and grow from it. For God sake, Ethier is the oldest of the lot of the young guys and he’s only 26. Sure, Manny’s been huge, but we wouldn’t have even made the playoffs without Bills, Ethier, Martin, Kemp, Loney, Brox, Wade, etc. The future is still bright.

  47. jungar@wsgcorp.com

No one sugar coat this. Bills, pathetic. All young players in lineup, pathetic. Our starting SS, pathetic. Bullpen, pethetic. The only good thing is some of them will learn from how pathetic they are.

  48. seeskybout2rain@comcast.net

As a kid,I remember seeing Davis make those errors in the 1966 WS. Koufax was pitching that day, as I recall.

  49. colliethec

I’m fine with DeMitt starting. I don’t think Kent would of done much better. But we’ll see.
    .
So far the Phillies have been the team that has made the plays & we haven’t.
    .
& so far that is end of story.
    .
You can’t second guess every player on the team.
    .
You’ve got to go with who got you there. You can’t get down on each player that doesn’t perform and then say he shouldn’t of played.
    .
If that’s the case then we shouldn’t of played Martin, DeMitt, Ferk, Blake, Dre, and Matty.
    .

  50. shad78

See their was no reason for Torre not to let McDonald pitch that 8th innings when Wade thrown 33 pitches in 2 innings

  51. jhallwally

LOL Nelly!! I would beg to differ and besides, it would just take too long to make that many corrections. HaHa!!!!

  52. enchantedbeaver

    Just a quick comment…

You gotta go with what brung ya. Kent didn’t bring us here. Give some credit to the Phils – they’re taking advantage of opportunities, we’re not.

Also, pitching wins penants, We got it with Chicago, not with Phila. It happens. What I fear is that with this series Billz doesn’t go Niedenfuer on us.

  53. oldbrooklynfan

Furcal shouldn’t feel bad, he’s not the first Dodger to make 3 errors in a postseason inning.
Willie Davis an outfielder (even harder to do) did it in the World Series with Koufax pitching.
    OH DODGERS!!!!

  54. junkyardjamie

dcollins – I am in a full house and still cheering alone. Unlike your wife, my family is still Giants fans – LOL!!!!

  55. jungar@wsgcorp.com

Maybe if we can get Manny up 4 more times we can tie this thing. Otherwise were done. And Martin just shut up. Your play has been so pathetic.

  56. colliethec

Hey there Nelly. I hear you. I just don’t want to annoy anyone of our ITD’ers here by posting to much. I like cheering with other Dodger fans and want to keep the faith going here.
    .
So I’m spending most of my time here and listening to ESPN radio.

  57. seeskybout2rain@comcast.net

Tom Niedenfuer sure brings back horrible Dodger playoff memories of Jack Clark’s homer. The only thing funny about it was watching a friend of mine kick a tv set because of it.

  58. colliethec

Martin has just been so tight for awhile. I’m hoping if they don’t come back here and end up winning the series that they’ll of gained some huge experience for years to come.
    .
Pretty much none of the youngsters have been successful.

  59. shad78

Would be nice if the bases was loaded with a 3-2 count with 2 outs and Manny hit a game winning grand slam. Could you just imagine the crowd?

  60. junkyardjamie

dcollins – you can never post too much – always a pleasure reading what you have to say..

manfromchina – gotta love fantasy football – not too bad for a rookie (4-2 and in 3rd place). You are right about the Dodgers. Our future will be fantastic if NedCo keeps them intact.

  61. jhallwally

Very questionable call there. Looked low and away to me. Interesting they don’t show the Strike Cam on those.
    Crap!!!!

  62. colliethec

Wifey’s home with Chinese food! Woo hoo.
    .
Hot & Sour soup works well when your sick!
    .
Amy & Sarah I hope you guys are feeling better. If not try some Hot & Sour soup. It’ll burn it out.
    .
Take care guys time to switch to TV.

  63. junkyardjamie

xoxrussell said people are leaving DS – Don’t do that – have a little faith – anything can happen 🙂 GO DODGERS!!!!!

  64. seeskybout2rain@comcast.net

lov. vl!!!! Damn Victorino. He’s just killed us in this series. A lot of good comments regarding our future. We’ve got a lot to look forward to for next year. McDonald has probably pitched his way into a spot in the rotation for next year. Kershaw will be even better. Our core of young veterans will learn from this and become more aware of what it takes to get to the next step. Nobody though we would get this far. How many of us thought, during that 8-game losing streak, would have thought we would’ve gotten to the NLCS?

  65. shad78

Good to see Wade back and damn Utley. The Dodgers should had keep Victorino when Philly was offering him back to us the 2nd times.

  66. junkyardjamie

We love this Dodger team win or lose. We don’t need Victorino. Give him credit, but we don’t need him.

  67. vl4ecc

Kent would have needed a 9 iron to hit that low pitch!
Crap like that makes me think the HP ump is getting paid twice!!
    Bulls**t call is an understatement!

  68. shad78

Ethier and Martin 2 for 16 with 1 rbi and why hasn’t Loney battign cleanup. Is not like Loney bat behind Manny before.

  69. jhallwally

Got to resign Manny!!! Make it so Ned!!! Keep Maddux as the 5th starter. He will have a huge impact on Billz, Kersh, and Mac.

  70. enchantedbeaver

Color me blind, but other than Manny, I haven’t noticed the vets doing anything too special this series either.

We’ve been outpitched, out hit and out fielded with our best players out on the field – no reason to hang your head, we just got beat.

  71. junkyardjamie

Thank you enchanted. Give credit where credit is due, but don’t tear down our guys. This is the team we wanted out there, and they have done a hell of a job this season. We are going to have many seasons in October if NedCo makes the right moves.

  72. vl4ecc

That’s just wrong putting the camera on Raffy when he’s digging out a booger!
I’m trying to keep a sense of humor here folks…….

  73. stizaza

    nelly-
fantasy football will really start to get exciting. players will start getting injured and the waiver wire will really be busy. im finally starting to get my team going. Adaii is gonna miss a few weeks so i had to go pick up rhodes.

  74. junkyardjamie

jj – humor is good – thanks!!!! I think we have plenty of humor around here to get us through the heartbreak.

  75. oldbrooklynfan

Imagine LIDGE some how has a bad night.
but the way it’s going the Phillies look like they’re wearing magnets in they’re gloves.

  76. colliethec

    Last chance for romance…
    .
It would be fitting if we could “Gibby” their closer that has been dominant as was Eck back in ’88!

    Let’s Go Dodgers!!!!
    .
    Let’s Go Blue!!!!

  77. bluecrewgirl

I saw that, jj. Poor Raffy. Been a rough night for him and all of our Dodgers. I’m still proud of what they’ve accomplished and excited about the future with our young guys. I hope they get rid of Pierre, Kent, Penny, Nomar and Jones and resign Manny. I do like Nomar, but he’s too injury prone.

  78. junkyardjamie

manfromchina – I am learning a great deal, and yes, injuries are starting to take a toll already. It is fun!!!!

I am proud to be a Dodger Fan, and this has been a wonderful ride this season, and we will be seeing alot of Octobers to come. Ned ~ make the right decisions.

  79. junkyardjamie

enchanted – that is just too close to home for me. I see it all day long, and all it makes me do is want to find the hand sanitizer – LOL!!!!!!!

  80. jhallwally

Just want to thank you all for a fun season of banter and blogging. You’ve all made it much more fun and memorable. It has been a pleasure and a priviledge interacting with you all and I look forward to the Hot Stove with you. Excelsior True Blue Believers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  81. phan52

Imagine LIDGE some how has a bad night.
but the way it’s going the Phillies look like they’re wearing magnets in they’re gloves.
    ***************************

It’s called DEFENSE!! Try it. You might like it.

    RED OCTOBER!!!!

  82. junkyardjamie

Give the Phillies credit Shad – they did a good job!!! We love our Dodgers, and we have had a fabulous season!!!!

DODGER BLUE ~ WE LOVE YOU!!!!

  83. enchantedbeaver

Damn! I forgot all about Jose!!!

So does this mean the rally boogersnot going to be a part of next season??

  84. sparkleplenty_1

I think we got more from this season than we thought we would. The young guns came through most of the time and we have a bright future. WAIT ‘TILL NEXT YEAR!

  85. oldbrooklynfan

We made it to the 2nd round this year.
    The best finish since 1988.
    I’m happy about that.
This postseason was a great experience.
Not only for the team, but also for us.
    GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!

  86. kpookiemon

And as we all crawl off into the darkness of winter…I can’t wait to hear Vinny again when Spring Training starts! Tremendous season. NO ONE could have expected it. Sign Manny. Keep the good times rolling.

  87. junkyardjamie

Boblee – Have fun watching our NFC East Division. I am sure it’s going to be a good one. Good Luck!!!!! and come and visit on here sometime.

  88. dodgereric

We had a good run and just got beat. It’s been a great experience to go through the season with you all and I looking forward to debating all of our off-season moves!

I’m normally an NL guy, but I’m going to have to root for the Rays. Last-To-First, what a great story!

  89. bluecrewgirl

Well, what can you say? They did outplay us and they deserved to win. I just hope Ned makes the right decisions if he stays around. I hope he doesn’t panic and thinks he needs to trade away any of our young core. They made huge strides this season and they will learn from their mistakes. All of you on ITD have made it lots of fun. I’m sure we’ll still have lots to talk about during the offseason with all of the decisions left to be made.

  90. phan52

Thanks nelly. Thanks jhall. We’ll do the NL proud. I’m sure we’ll be seeing you again next postseason with your young core.

    CYA!!!

  91. jhallwally

Got a lot of friends in Philly and I’ve been there alot. I hope they go all the way. Darn good team. My hat’s off to them.
We’ll probably see them again next year in the post season.

  92. junkyardjamie

This has been one fun season Dodger Fans!!!! Our young guys did a fabulous job. They need to be proud of their accomplishments this season and build on those. We have a future that will be a dynasty if the right decisions are made.

  93. enchantedbeaver

OK, so in a couple weeks, here’s our line-up:
    .
    LF – Pierre
    RF – Ethier
    C – Marty
    1B – Loney
    CF – Kemp
    SS – Hu
    3B – DeWitt
    2B – DeJesus
    .
Oh yes, Flanders is going to need some divine guidance.

  94. sparkleplenty_1

Looking forward to chatting with you all during the offseason. This has been a very special season and this group has added a wonderful dimension to being a Dodger fan! God bless you all.

  95. vl4ecc

Okay. Besides all the bad calls, mismanagement, and poor defense, hats off to the Phillies. They were tough.
It’s a heartbreak on one hand, but this is the best post season in 20 years. It wasn’t a total loss. The young guns can chalk this up as a learning experience. They did much better than expected. It’s been a helluva ride! If Ned makes the right moves this off season, it could all come together next season. I just hope he doesn’t break up the nucleus of what’s already here. I sure hope Manny is resigned, but if he is, somethings gotta give. No team in their right mind would want the Curacao Cow. JP on the other hand could be dealt, and fit in somewhere else. I’m hoping for the best!
Thank you Dodgers! It’s been a great year!

  96. seeskybout2rain@comcast.net

This blog has definitely made this season much more interesting and enjoyable. I, too, would like to thank everyone for all their contributions. Now, to something just as interesting: The Hot Stove League. GO RAYS!!!!!

  97. shad78

No way I agree with boblee **** them. Shut up Phan your team got lucky that Torre mess uo in game 4. Let’s go TB.

  98. junkyardjamie

Oh Phan – good luck to the Eagles too. I am a Redskins and Chargers fan, but I do like watching the Eagles play, especially now that TO is with the Cowboys.

  99. junkyardjamie

Shad …… please don’t start. The Phillies did a good job – give them credit. Vin is even giving them credit, and now Joe Torre is giving them credit on the radio.

  100. acardona16

well.. this has deffinately been a fun, crazy, exciting, fantastic, sad, happy, (and so much more) season! I am SO unbelievably proud of our boys!! they did an absolutely amazing job this year! there’s always next year 🙂 i really enjoyed chatting with you guys all season and will still be here during the off-season!! GOOD JOB DODGERS!!! YOUR STILL THE BEST IN OUR EYES!!! YOU MADE IT SO FAR AND WE ARE SO VERY PROUD OF YOU!!!

  101. jhallwally

Hey Spit, win with class, and have some class when you lose. We got beat by a better team. Our day is coming.
That is if Ned doesn’t screw it up!!!!

  102. junkyardjamie

diggie and seesky – it has been a pleasure talking with you. This should be a fun off-season so don’t stop coming around.

  103. enchantedbeaver

Right Nells!! When you get your hat handed to you in your own ballpark, you gotta give the other team credit.

  104. junkyardjamie

Acardona~ how are you fellow Ethieraholic? I got my new Dodger magazine today, and there is a fabulous article on Andre in there. There are many more, but I read that one first.

  105. enchantedbeaver

Now, back to the business at hand:

    Fire Joe.
Fire the guy who hired Joe.
Fire the guy who hired the guy who hired Joe.

Figured I’d get a head start.

  106. jhallwally

If you think about it, the Phils are basically 2 or 3 years ahead of us with their young guys and we gave them a good run. This is their time, ours is on the way. Stay the course Ned.

  107. vl4ecc

As far as closers go this season, for me it’s a toss up on who has the most devastaing slider – Lidge, or K-Rod.
Lidge literally went from the outhouse in Houston, to the penthouse in Philly. Quite an amazing story! Things like this are what makes baseball such a great game.
    I LOVE THIS GAME!

  108. dodgereric

I’ve got no problem at all taking my hat off to the Phillies. Other than Myers, they’re OK. But there’s some things I just won’t do.

  109. acardona16

Hi Dnel! I could be better but other than this being the worst day of my year… I’m doing pretty good!! I haven’t gotten the dodger magazines.. man.. now i want to read the article!! Andre has certainly become an amazing player!! he’s been my favorite for quite some time but this year he has grown so much!! I’m very proud of him! 🙂

  110. seeskybout2rain@comcast.net

nelly–Thanks. It’s been great fun talking with you as well. With all the offseason moves that are certain to be made, I’m sure there will be much for us to discuss. I would’nt want to miss it. Good luck with the Redskins and hope your school year is a rewarding one. We’ve had a very sucessful season and , with the right moves, we’ll be going on to the WS in 2009. GO DODGERS!!!!

  111. enchantedbeaver

I like Brox as our closer next season with Wade as set-up man. Brox stumbled a few times this year but we have to remember that he’s only 24. Not too many 24 year old closers I’d surmize. And he’ll only get better with experience.

  112. bluecrewgirl

Steve Lyons had a lot of good things to say about the younger Dodger core and said he thinks they will all learn from this experience and be better for it.

  113. junkyardjamie

I am so proud of this board right now. There is no question this is heartbreaking, but I am proud to be a Dodger fan and proud to be part of this board. Now, who has the Cuervo? oh, maybe it’s me…..

  114. shad78

No Game 1 was a win for us and game 4 was another win and if Philly had the lead the whole game than it a different story. We had game 1 and 4 won. Manny should had been on 3rd and we’re up 2-0 lead instead of 1-0 in the top of the 1st and if it was for Furcal 1st error we win 3-2 and no excuses for not letting Lowe finish 1 more inning and even Kuo finished up the 8th innings.

  115. junkyardjamie

Acardona – he got a compliment on his swing and hitting from Duke Snider, and that was one of the highlights of his season. Everything else was pretty much everything we already knew – he’s a great ball player and wonderful person.

  116. Dodger4life

    I BELIEVE,

I BELIEVE, that I am proud to call these ballplayers my BELOVED LOS ANGELES DODGERS!

I BELIEVE, that this was an awesome year and a whole lot of fun.

I BELIEVE, that these young ballplayers will be back in the playoffs many more times.

I BELIEVE, that they will not only get to the fall classic but will win it.

I BELIEVE, that ( MANNY ) can hit a baseball better than anyone on our planet!!!!!!

I BELIEVE , that my new ITD friends are the best.

I BELIEVE, I would like to congradulate the Phillies and wish them the best ( BEAT THE A.L. )

I BELIEVE, I would like to say GO DODGERS!!!! one last time this year ( THANK-YOU )

  117. leekfink

Well, folks, it’s over for this year. And horrible that it would happen on this anniversary. But this may have been the best season in 20 years–an ourtight division championship (even if a weaker division), a post-season series sweep, and the coming of age of a generation of players that assres that the next ten years will be a lot better than the last 20.
    .
Sure there have been downsides, and I would have criticisms of even how the post-season went–and there is at least one very big thing we must do in the off-season (BTW–it’s for another day, but it’s not only a good idea, but one I think we will do). But ultimately, it’s been a great year.
    .
For now, the sun sets earlier, and tonight will seem darker tonight than it has since March. The long winter sets in, thankfully later this year than anytime in the last 20, but it’s still a long four months until the spring finally comes, this time to Arizona instead of Florida, with the freeze thawed as much by the soothing tones of Vin Scully’s voice as by the glistening sun.
    .
“It’s designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything is new again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains comes, it stops, and leaves you to face the fall alone.”
    .
    –A. Bartlett Giamatti
    .
    Wait until next year!

  118. junkyardjamie

    Ward Dear…. we know 🙂

nsblues – how are you and your new computer? Did you get your homework done? 🙂

  119. junkyardjamie

leekfink – fabulous as always!!! Coming back home soon to California? I hope all is well in Colorado?

dodger4life – it has been a pleasure and please stay around during the off-season.

  120. junkyardjamie

Trublue is unable to post right now, but she wanted me to tell you that she is very proud of our Dodger team, and that when Dodgereric takes over as GM, she is willing to do whatever he wants. Oh, and don’t forget to save some Cuervo for her…. 🙂

  121. colliethec

    Go Blue!
    .
We lost but were still here!!
    .
We got beat by a team that played better in all aspects of the game. Tip your hat to the Phillies as they outplayed us.
    .
I normally will pull for the NL team but in this case I might have to pull for the Rays. They are a good story and I have friends and teammates who played with Gomes as he is a local guy.
    .
By the look of my watch it’s time for the Hot Stove!!
    .
I’ll be seeing you all later. Thanks for the really fun season. I can honestly say that this has been my most enjoyable season as a Dodger fan. Not just because of their success but because of ITD’ers & how engaged all year we have been and how much laughter you’ve brought to me.
    .
    Thanks!!!

  122. lbirken@aol.com

I have to say I am disappointed at how things ended for the Dodgers. I expected a better series but clearly the Phillies are the better team, at least certainly during this series. However, with where the Dodgers were on August 30, they accomplished a lot to get to the playoffs and win a series. It will be easy to look at the reasons this series went the way it did as the Dodgers looked more like the pre-September Dodgers offensively and the inability of Bills and Lowe to go deep into games. Our beloved Ethier and Martin could not get anything going but besides Loney and Manny, no one else did either. Funny, but this team that did not seem to have any emotion earlier in the season and had so much success later in the season might have done themselves in by getting down on themselves judging by comments made my Andre on his blog and Joe after Monday’s game. I am sure Bills is not feeling too good about himself either.

The good news is we still support all these players because we know they wanted to win as much as we wanted them to win. I am saddened that Jeff Kent’s last two at bats were strikeouts although on the last one he was the victim of a questionable call. Nomar popping out in what could be his last at bat as a Dodger is sad as is watching Furcal make three errors. But the core of this team still has a huge upside and hopefully will take something from this series and season and build on it for next season. When does Spring Training start? I already miss Vinny.

  123. thinkingblue

I have no idea what to say! I had tears rolling down my face. I can’t believe that it is over. Just seing their faces at the end of the game man, my heart just broke. It would of been the perfect year for them to win. I just hope that they learned a lot from the season, and coming next season they come more mature and kick butt from the get go. I hope Manny comes back, I would love to see Nomar in management, DeWitt giving tips to the next Rookie, and all my other boys getting along, KEMP-MARTIN-ETHIER-LONEY (my 4 handsome boys).
    .
FAREWELL BOYS IN BLUE…TIL NEXT YEAR! GO HOME AND SPEND TIME WITH LOVE ONES AND DO COME AND VISIT ITD EVERY NOW AND THE.

  124. shad78

Should had been this lineup tonight no excuse for Torre. I bet we could gotten more than 1 run tonight.
    Furcal
    Kemp (Ethier with Kent playing)
Ethier (Manny spot are probably Kent)
    Manny (flip flop with Kent)
    Loney
Martin (Martin would be dropped one spot and Nomar spot here)
    Blake (Nomar against lhp)
    Dewitt (with Kent not playing)
    Bills

  125. jhallwally

It’s been fun Colly. Looking forward to seeing you around this winter.
Hello to Trumom!!!!!!!! We miss you!!!!

  126. colliethec

    Peace out Nelly!
    .
I feel sort of like it’s the last day of high school for the summer!
    .
The thing is I’m sure most of us will be here all offseason.
    .
I sure hope so. It will make those cold dark days much warmer and soon we will hear that wonderful sound of wood hitting leather in the warm summer sun!
    .
I can’t wait until Valentines Day!!

  127. junkyardjamie

    lbirken – wonderful post!!!!!

dodgersrule – it’s heartbreaking, but the boys did well. They have a bright future just like many have said. And think, with the help of Dodgereric, we have made Ethieraholic a name outside of ITD. We did good this season as fans. We have songs, poems, thought bubbles, and many more creative things that happened on ITD to be able to look back on when this core of young guns is there again next October. We did the Dodgers proud this year because there are some pretty awesome fans on this ITD board.

  128. seeskybout2rain@comcast.net

Good night, all!!! Thanks again for an enjoyable season. I’m ready for spring training already!!!!

  129. colliethec

C-ya Wally! Have a good one.
    .
I’ll be around. I’m not into basketball or football all that much (I love playing it though). My teams are Lakers and Rams so this year will be really scarce being a Ram fan and all.
    .
Baseball is my passion and what I love to do.

  130. lbirken@aol.com

Josh, thanks so much for hosting this forum and for all the information. Please keep it up as much as possible during the offseason. If possible, give us updates as to what some of the players are doing during the offseason obviously with respect to their privacy. We want to hear it here first.

  131. jhallwally

Bonsoir Sky!!! Stop in for the Hot Stove. We’ll be here all winter.
Kind of weird not dreaming of Vero right now for me.

  132. thinkingblue

Dodgers have great fans…not because I am one, but because I heard them cheering til the very end. Even when we are loosing.
    .
I know there is still next year..and this time I won’t be the baseball rookie or blogger rookie any more. I’ve learned a lot from all here at ITD. Eventhough I still can’t figure out how they get their averages…I guess that is something to do til next time.
    .
And yes everyone here made the whole baseball experience fun. I’ve cheered for the Dodgers all my life but this year I’ve gotten attached to the players and that’s what made it really hard for me to see.
    .
GO DODGERS…AND I WILL ALWAYS THINK BLUE….AND YOU ARE WINNERS!

  133. enchantedbeaver

Well hell Wally, if you go to AZ and I’m still here in LC, stop by on your way through and we’ll tie one on.
    .
    .
    .
    .
Think we’ll tie it on Ned.

  134. shad78

I guess it time to say goodbye to Nomar, Kent, Penny and Sweeney and even though Furcal made 4 key errors, I’ll say resigned him. Can we get rid of Ned, Schmidt, Jones and Pierre?

  135. thinkingblue

JOSH – I am with IBERKEN….keep us updated on all the Dodgers new. You have been doing a great job and do answer our questions. Thanks! And hopefully soon this blog can be #1.
    .
Hey we still have the UNDER THE LIGHTS EVENT, WITH OUR STUD ETHIER.
    .
Nelly – I hope the Lil’ Kempers and Mini-Ethieraholics enjoyed the Dodgers Season as much as we did!

  136. perumike

Well everyone, I am sad to see the season end so soon, but am very proud of our Dodgers and all they did accomplish. You figure they hadn’t won a playoff series in so long, and they did it in fine fashion over Chicago. Also, so many of the younger players got playing time, with both good and bad results, but every bit of it will give them experience and help them in the years to come. I have had a blast on here with all of you, and wish you all a wonderful offseason and hopefully an even better season next year.

  137. junkyardjamie

jhall – It feels like it’s been forever, and boy, have we come a long way. All the songs and just plain fun.

  138. lbirken@aol.com

Thanks to all of you for your insight, opinions, passion, songs, movie references, and most of all, your ability to make us all laugh. Sometimes this blog can get a bit addicting but I expect all of this to continue during the offseason as we continue the debate over players, managers and even stuff outside of baseball.

  139. juniorvarsity

    LET MANNY GO!!!!

he was great for us for 3 months

now lets get back on track with young guys and re-sign furcal. we can make a play on CC!!

let the young guys enjoy the off-season and get stronger and better. with CC, bills, kershaw, mcdonald, and hiro we would have a great pitching staff

    2009 everyday lineup:

    martin C
    loney 1B
    dewitt 2b
    furcal ss
beltre 3B…yes that beltre bring him back the mariners wont need him.
    ethier LF
jones CF…i look for jones to have a huge season next year…he will be in shape and will want to be part of this great team
    kemp RF

  140. bluecrewgirl

Josh, thanks for working so hard to make this blog a place where we can all have fun and enjoy talking Dodger baseball.

  141. jhallwally

A huge Thank You to Josh!!!! Well done and keep it coming. We appreciate your efforts more than you can imagine. GO ITD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  142. vl4ecc

    Well ITD gang, its come to the time of year to say;
“Hasta La Vista!” It’s been an amazing roller coaster ride of a season hasn’t it? It has been alot of fun chatting with you. There are really some quite colorful characters out here in ITD land to say the least! Hope to do it again next year, with a better outcome at the end of the season. I may be dropping in from time to time. All depends on what type of wheeling, and dealing goes on in the off season. As usual, with Ned at the helm, I’m hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. I sure hope to see Manny in Dodger Blue next year, but I have my doubts. He makes it so worth the price of admission. Time will tell.
    Take care.
    Be safe. &
    God Bless!

  143. junkyardjamie

dodgersrule – no lying (trublue heard it). I was getting on the bus with my class to go to the pumpkin patch. I call my mom (trublue) to tell her to post on Andre’s blog. As soon as I start talking, they ask “Is that Dodgereric? Tell him we love Andre” I told them it was just my mom, and they were upset. So, I don’t think they will be forgetting about the Dodgers anytime soon. They have associated me laughing to talking to Dodgereric. Dodgereric sends them Dodger memorabia so they have a little history with him. He is more popular than their teacher at times – LOL!!!

O.K., now we are getting a bit sappy. For some reason, I can’t resist saying, “Let’s all room together next semester”. With that, I will bid you all a good night.

  145. thinkingblue

God Bless VL4ECC and God bless the Dodgers…

Mr. Piano Man ~ you definitely have to stay around. The off season may call for some grands depending on Ned’s decisionmaking.

  147. bluecrewgirl

Goodnight all. It’s been fun and I will definitely stop in and chat during the off season. Should be interesting.

  148. thinkingblue

IBIRKEN – next year I will be staying in the Dorms at Dodgers Hall, room #ITD
    .
Dnell…so is TRU your mom? Those kids are yours are very special. I’ll be drawing up dodger coloring sheets for my kids and I’ll send them to you via-e-mail. I’m doing it so my kids will not forget the players names or faces during off season.

  149. perumike

I will keep the piano factory in production throughout the offseason in case they are in demand.

Josh, thank you so much for the great information and for showing your appreciation for us diehards! Hey, what does everyone think about Josh leading us in an ITD tour of the stadium sometime in the offseason or early next season? We would all get to meet Josh and see the stadium!

  150. enchantedbeaver

And I suppose you’re going to tell me that most of them are mine…

Looks like we’re just about down to the Cleaver family.

  151. thinkingblue

Enchanted I’m still here. I feel like those kids that want to stay up to see what happens when everyone is sleeping….I can stay up today!

  152. enchantedbeaver

I think they have to jhall. 1-year and incentive laden, but they have to. Hu’s not got enough pop in his bat and if they don’t, that means Pierre at leadoff all year.

  153. jhallwally

I’m totally down with it Peru!!!!!
    LOL Beav!!!!
Just cause you want to stay up and see me making out with my date. HaHa!!!

  154. junkyardjamie

By the end of it all, it’s usually just Ward Dear and June Darlin’. However, we have nsblues, dcollins and bluecrewgril to keep us company. I guess we have been given the role of mom and dad, and we usually are the ones to turn out the lights. Funny how that worked because I am younger than all of them, and it’s mathematically impossible for Wally and Beav to be my sons, but when you live in ITD land, anything is possible.

  155. enchantedbeaver

Scott only comes on from work I think, which is why he’s never on at night or weekends. Haven’t seen jnv or Brandon for awhile either.

  156. jhallwally

I think so too Beav!!! 1 year, incentive laden. Tonights performance may have humbled him a bit and made it possible.

  157. junkyardjamie

LMAO!!!!!!!! shhhh your father is in the next room finding out how many songs we have each done.

Hi biddyboo ~ it’s good to see you (boy if that was ever a first grade rhyme) LOL!!!!

  160. thinkingblue

Enchanted – LOL! Miss I.N. Flateable.
    .
Nelly – I think the fact that you are a teacher and a mother, you have that extra motherly instinct!

  161. biddyboo

jhall- I could never be as cool as everyone! I could try but I would not be successful! What is the scoreboard for?

  162. thinkingblue

Then who was the one from Illinois? I’m so confused! This is what I get for stayin up late.
    .
Wow all the songs..girl you DO ROCK! Are missing one song….my one-hit wonder…”Yankee Doodle” by Dodgersrule1655…hey it took me a whole 5 minutes to write it and it was inspired by JoeTorre lets see who has a better record between Dodgers or Yankees….

  163. biddyboo

What are the plans for the offseason in here? Meet once a week as we start rebuilding the team from the ground up? I see phan said hello! I miss you Phan! I owe you a couple of beers!

  164. junkyardjamie

boys, not in front of your mother….. LOL!!!

biddyboo – believe me, there are plenty of things I can’t do.

    at second base
Against time my friend you lost
    the race
    .
    Just walk away Jeff K.,

There’ll be no trash cans then
It just won’t be the same
    No Kemp to blame

    From Barry Bonds to Loney
    His shirt untucked
    17 years with no rings
And now you’re (your choice of adjective here)
    .
    Just walk away Jeff K.,
The kids you won’t have to dis no more
Now that your range is down
    The grounders you can’t reach
    Time for the beach

    Just walk away Jeff K.,
The kids you won’t have to dis no more
There’ll be no trash cans then
It just won’t be the same
    No Kemp to blame

    Your name upon a plaque
    inside a hall
It’s time to hang ‘em up now,
    you’ve hit the wall

  166. dodgereric

boy, am I having problems staying on line tonight!!

dodgersrule, I can search by tags, and the system doesn’t show one for you. Do you have an idea of when you posted it?

  167. biddyboo

dodgereric- I do actually! I was always a lurker on ITD and as I was looking at the scoreboard I realized after I asked it was the song count! 🙂 The song that made me laugh was “Juan Says.” When I hear the original song on KROQ I always laugh! Again another player I like. I like all of the under dogs for some reason!

  168. junkyardjamie

I had alot of time over the summer to write songs. I was writing 1 or 2 per day, but they were in the Pierre playing over Dre days. I tend to do them when I have off days now, but I haven’t done one in a while, but mine were mostly frustration songs, and I haven’t been too frustrated with the management lately. I am sure that will change in the off season as Ned starts making his decisions.

  169. enchantedbeaver

All the further I got with this one… Neil Diamond – Turn On Your Heartlight

    LOOKS LIKE OLD FART NIGHT
    .
    Comeback Again?
I want you to play this time
‘Cause sometimes the world ain’t kind
When players get old like you and me.
    .
    I can’t make a play
A play is something you need
And now that the talent’s gone away,
I still hear the words JoJo might say:
    .
    Looks like old fart night
Let ‘em play wherever they please
Let us rejoice though they blow
For all the world to see
    Looks like old fart night
Crushing out all the hopes of the team
    Please JoJo wake up soon
Gonna take us downward again, you and me.
    .
Looks like old fart night now.
    .
    Looks like old fart night…now.

  170. dodgereric

You still got it, e!! Awesome!! But didn’t Kent get a ring with the Blue Jays?

If that team had any pitching, jhall, they would have won 140 games.
