I was at Saturday’s game. Right after the final out some knucklehead ran out into the outfield and started spinning in circles like he was Stevie Nicks. They hog-tied him, too. I was right at the base of the aisle where it meets the outfield wall, so I yelled, “DRAG HIM OUT BY HIS FEET!” They didn’t. I thought it was a good idea.
Can’t wait to see what DY has to say!!!

Eric- mi amigo. Yea, my dad was also at a game this year when they hog tied a man too. What’s up with that? It was definetly a sight to see. in all of the years I’ve been going to that Stadium, I’ve never heard of this many people attempting to go onto the field.

Denl- it was good, cause when they put Jones in, Matt was in right and I go to see him closer up 🙂 They kept showing a fan on the big screen who has a jersy that said Mrs. Ethier. I was thinking “too bad he’s the only ‘young guy’ who’s married”. It always good to see supporters though.
Really makes you wonder what goes through someone’s mind when they do things like that. I just can’t imagine the little voice that comes on saying, “hey! you know what would be really fun…”
I’m sure hog tying isn’t how they thought it would end though.
Unless of course the little voice was saying, “Hey! you know what would be really fun so that we can get hog tied?”

I think a lot of those fools who decide to run out there tell the story to their friends and start it the same way, “Well, I was at the game and I was really drunk………..”
As far as hog-tying, I don’t think the stadium people have a choice anymore. You never know what someone like that is going to do. Imagine yourself in court in front of the judge, when the lawyer says, “You had him down, under control. Why didn’t you secure him? He broke away and pulled a knife and stabbed the center fielder.”
Kent is pretty much an out now too.

The Dodgers are one of a few teams to be showing interest in Manny Ramirez and are currently in discussions with Boston, SI.com has learned.
However the talks are said to be in the very early stages, and there are numerous complications and hurdles to clear for a deal with the Dodgers to get done. People familiar with the talks say it is too early to gauge the chances for a trade.
Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, a Bostonian, is believed to love the idea of adding Ramirez to bolster the Dodgers’ mediocre offense. However, McCourt has been telling Dodgers people he doesn’t want to add payroll during this trading season, and has been openly complaining about disappointing attendance and revenues.
Players likely to interest the Red Sox would likely include young outfielders Matt Kemp and perhaps Andre Ethier.
The other teams showing interest in Ramirez are not yet known.
Kemp or Ethier for Ramirez and I’m done. A 36 year old nothing but downside, can’t field his position PITA. Yeah, I’ll be done.
That would be just great – another veteran prima donna with a huge payroll. If that one comes through, just ignore the “salary neutral” statement by Frank. This guy, of course, comes from Boston, so all bets are off.

Wow, I was texting and felt a huge earthquake. I wanted to say that there is a huge fine and jail for people who run on the field. Hardly worth it. This is the third time this season that I have seen someone run on the field. All I can say is Stupid, Stupid Stupid.

scary- especailly being at work. I could feel it coming. It started out small and then it got bigger and bigger. There shouldn’t be much damage. We’ve been through WAY worse earthquakes!!
