A nice win tonight and glad to see Russ come through in front of his friends and family. Lots of contributors to the victory, which is the way it should be.
We just got through customs and are on the plane, about to take off. For those who missed it the last time I posted it, be sure to read up on our hotel in Tampa Bay. It case be described in one word: haunted.

Nice comeback from the boys in Blue today, should make that long travel experience (customs plus flight from Toronto to Tampa) a lot more bearable.
Josh, any more news about 11 vs. 12 man pitching staff? Jacksonville is nearby; how about swapping Meloan for Abreu for the weekend? And will Grady ever start Ethier and Kemp in the same game (maybe with Gonzo as the DH)?

Great win last night. I hope Grady starts managing with his brain ,instead of his gut and starts Loney and Kemp. Pierre made 2 outs in the same inning last night. How long before we get a Pierre bobble head night? (insert joke here)
The Pierre bashing is really unwarranted right now. By the way, his second out was a missle line drive right at Glaus.

Juan Pierre : The Dodgers thought they would have the best 1-2 punch atop the lineup in the majors when they brought Pierre in during the offseason to hit behind Rafael Furcal. Pierre barely posted an above .300 on-base percentage through the first two months and struggled to start June. The Dodgers figured they would try and jumpstart his bat by demoting him to the eight-spot in the lineup June 9. He spent two games there and was back in the two-hole June 11 against the Mets. Since then, he has put together a seven-game hitting streak through Tuesday. He is hitting .370 (10-for-27) with one RBI, four walks and four stolen bases during that stretch.
So really start complaining about something that matters, like why Kemp (or Loney for that matter) isn’t getting more PT while were using a DH.
i’d stay in a haunted hotel just for fun. i remember last time, josh said something about the lady in the red dress at the top of dodger stadium. i had never heard of that. can someone tell me more about it? i’m curious

Right now I am more perturbed with Furcal’s lack of production that I am with Pierre’s. I’m assuming that Raffy is still suffering some lingering effects from his ankle injury, and it is most apparent from his lack of steals. Frankly, as long as Grady insists on playing Pierre, I think it would be best to bat Pierre in the leadoff slot and drop Furcal somewhere toward the bottom of the lineup.
Dodgers baseball for me…..meh!

Hey fliegel – I hear that the Juan Pierre bobblehead comes without an arm, costs a lot, and is easy to throw out (LOL!). Sorry guys, I just couldn’t resist.
Hey zobeida – I was talking recently with my good friend Louie Ocampo, who has worked at Dodger Stadium for almost 30 years. He told me stories of walking through the back hallways and corridors of the stadium late at night and hearing a lady walking right behind him in what sounded to him like high heel shoes. When he turned around, there was no one there. He also said that it is not uncommon to hear doors opening and closing, again, when no one else was there. That’s all I’ve got on the haunting of Dodger Stadium.
Let’s sweep the Rays (and leave Hendrickson there when we leave town! (LOL!).

alright guys im shifting my focus. im gona make it short and sweet…furcal either pull a johnny damon and ask to be DL’d, or START HITTING! a guy who’s number one asset is speed, should not be in the lineup with some form of lingering leg injury. he just looks lost. he needs some rest, let JP leadoff a few games. before i go, i almost peed my pants when i heard conte was going to the AS game! maybe him and schmidt can go throw out the first pitch and just never come back.

I knew I’d get you to budge, at least I can bash the heck out of your team everytime you bash my Dodgers. With the exception of Crosby and Chavez (I know them both personally) your team *****. How does it feel to root for a team thats worse than the team you love to bash? BTW good luck catching those Angels who have a better pitching staff and line-up than Joketown.

Girardi turned down Baltimore. Now, if Colletti and Little don’t get us through the first round of the playoffs, it may be WHITE/GIRARDI for 2008.
Although I usually ignore Plaschke’s nonsense, today’s article raises an interesting suggestion.
Namely, we should hold off on making ANY trades.
Although I generally agree, I would make an exception if we were able to acquire Dunn or Texaira in exchange for any one of our aging vets (namely, kent, nomar, gonzo, pierre) and one prospect.
The only untouchable prospects would be Billz and Kemp.
What do you guys think?

I dont think Dunn is worth anything. The thing with the Texaira trade is that it would mean Loney’s Dodger career is done, something that i dont want to see happen. I’d veto all trades and go after A-Rod if he opts out…
