Computer woes

A quiet day here yesterday at the stadium, so you didn’t miss much. With a dead laptop, I haven’t posted much in a few days but should be back up and running later today. We’ll also be hosting a live web chat with Fernando Valenzuela today at 2 p.m. in both English and Spanish.

Lots of off-day stories focusing on Adrian Beltre (Daily News, L.A. Times, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Tacoma News) as well as a nice piece on Dave Stewart’s affect on Chad Billingsley and Matt Kemp on dodgers.com and a story about the meshing of veterans and rookies in the L.A. Times.

It will be nice to see Adrian back at Dodger Stadium today, as he was always a hard worker and a good person.

Finally, here’s an interesting note I found yesterday while doing the daily game notes — the last time the Dodgers faced the Mariners, the winning pitcher for Seattle was Aaron Sele, who improved to 10-1. The day before, the Dodgers won on a ninth-inning walk-off shot by none other than….Adrian Beltre.

It’s a funny game…

“Given the length and value of his deal and the level of performance, some in baseball say it’s potentially the worst free-agent deal ever.”

That’s quite an accomplishment, especially when Kevin Brown got $105 million.

Beltre was a good guy, I personaly wouldn’t boo him, it will be interesting to see how the fans react today.

ps let’s get a winning streak going.

Beltre HAD to be roiding in 04. He had never produced like he did that season and he hasn’t come close since then. Plus he was playing injured that whole season AND it was a contract year. I hope the dodgers crush the mariners tonight to get back on track!!! GO BLUE!!!

It will be nice to see Beltré back at Dodger stadium and I hope he has a good game, but with us coming out on top of course. He always seemed like a really nice guy and I wish he was having better seasons, but that’s how baseball goes I suppose.

    Mhardy:

If your friend who is blind would like to cast votes for the All-Star Game, please have him call the main line of the Dodger offices and ask for the PR Department. Someone in my office will help him with the process. Thanks.
